James ShuffWhen I rented the storage through your app, there was nothing that indicated it was upstairs. I changed it to 4 units on the main floor. Found out one of the 4 was already rented, had to get that one changed. They were unable to refund the $269 I spent on the first unit on the 2nd floor that I was unable to use. I would not attempt to rent anything through your app again.

Dedrick MorrisCargo van: 2 mechanical issues noted. Tire pressure sensors out of service. Check tire pressure- Satisfactory despite warning light and sensors indicating 0 pressure. Driving noted vibration & shimmy starting ~ 63 mph getting progressively worse with increasing speed (speed limit 70 mph). So was forced to limit speed to ~10 mph under limit. Pulled over by state police and had to explain why I was driving as such. 430 mile trip, >50% w/ hazard light on.

There seems to be some turnover in staff at this location and I notice that the new guys are generally not familiar with the process. But the senior guys always are there to help out, so all is good.

William SchlosserThe truck that I rented drove like hot garbage. I indicated that I wanted to return the truck to a different location, in Springfield, on the initial reservation, but when I picked up the truck I was told there would be a fee to do that, so I had to drive clear across town ($0.89/mile) to return the truck to the same location. I received a free month of storage unit rent via a promotion they are running, I opted to use the Stevenson drive location to rent a unit from. The units are run down with crap falling down from the ceiling, getting on all of my items, there was a lock on my reserved unit (they had to come take it off while I waited at the unit), and after they got the lock off I had to use a hammer to unlatch the unit because the latch was seized. Overall, I will not be using uhaul for storage needs after the free month, and I will only rent a truck from them if it is absolutely necessary. The bruns lane location has pleasant staff, but they may need more members on site to speed along the check in check out process. When I dropped the truck back off, I stood inside and waited for 10 minutes before I even saw an employee (I believe he was out checking in a different customers rental), the last thing I want to do after moving all day is stand around and wait to go home.

No real effort was made to find us a smaller truck. When we returned the truck to the location based on our reservation they told us they didn’t have room for the truck and we needed to take it somewhere else. We refused. Just bad service all together.

Devin Jefferson | Overall ExperienceI was told the location half a mile from my sister in law, where i stayed, didn't have the equipment I asked for. I had to drive across town yet when I returned to her home I saw the location near her house had at least 15 of the trucks I requested and trailers behind the building.The truck I was given had a check engine light on!!! I was told it was no problem and to call if we broke down. They said they had one other truck which was older, in worse shape and had no gas in it. My truck had the passenger door lock torn out, the inside of the windshield was really dirty, and the truck had surging issues for all 800 miles of the trip. I heard horror stories of locations just trying to get rid of junk trucks on one way rentals. Now i know they are true.

Let the staff know and got oh ok they shouldn’t be wet nothing refunded or discounted so I will not use in the future and will not suggest to friends. As I used it for less than an hour to only end up with wet dirty clothes trying to move a sofa and paid $40 not happy.

I initially rented a 15 foot truck and after leaving u-haul, found out the cables to the back door were all tangled and the back door would not shut. I called U-Haul and they said they couldn’t fix it and to return it asap. Upon returning it an hour after I received it, we were given a different vehicle which was a 10 foot truck. After leaving location, we found that one of the headlights did not work and this impacted our ability to drive the truck at night. Would not recommend renting any vehicles or equipment from this location to anyone.

I just want customers to be aware that even when u put fuel back in truck u will still be charged for fuel. Even if u empty storage unit u will be charged for empty unit and get late charge. When u get a truck ensure u are being charged correctly. I experienced all 3 of these issues. Didn’t get charge back for fuel. Had to let them know they overcharged me to get that money back. Had to leave work and drive to location because they never answer phone to get 200+ dollar charge removed for empty storage unit. Hate to think uhaul is shady but after all the money I spent at this location I can’t believe they tried to beat me on 3 separate occasions. Note to consumers. Take pictures of truck fuel and empty storage unit. These people are horrible for stealing from people especially the way the economy is. I work hard for my money and really don’t appreciate a company trying to steal it from me. Had I not had the 1st incident with empty storage locker I wouldn’t have caught the fuel charge or the overcharge. Customers beware. They won’t correct it and act like u did something wrong. Consumers please protect yourselves and your money

ANTOINETTE BRYANT | First ImpressionsThe three main reasons I chose to store my RV at this facility were the security, having a roof over each space and electricity being available to charge the RV battery. I rented this space for 14 months and for most of that time the electric would not work. The GFCI outlet would trip anytime I tried to plug into it. I complained to the local office staff and corporate, but it was never repaired. My RV was brand new (2021) when I started storing it there and never had any problems with my RV tripping other GFCI outlets, so it wasn't my RV causing the problem. I was actually told by another customer that it had always been that way. It was a nice facility other than I may have to replace my battery now since it's been dead for so long.

I have always promoted uhaul for their professionalism and how well the customer service there is BUT not at this location. The manager was completely rude and was a complete jerk to say the least. If this is how the manager acts, well he’s setting a horrible example for his employees and is making the Uhaul brand look extremely bad. When I asked who his boss was he literally told me that they won’t care and won’t want to speak to me. I am totally appalled by how the manager spoke to me and treated me In front of his employees and other customers. I will tell everyone I know and meet to NEVER use this location and maybe not even recommend uhaul at all anymore.

There was one incident that was out of the control of the local mngmt that took a while to resolve but was eventually settled to our satisfaction and not something that negatively impacted our choice to use or highly recommend this facility. I’m only bringing this up so you know if there would be a problem it will be taken care of. We used this facility for possibly two years or close to it. If the need arises we will definitely use this business again.

Alarm goes off every time storage area is accessed, even when keycard is swiped and accepted and automatic sliding door opens. If I was not in such a hurry to move out, I would find another storage facility, even with the extra work that would entail.

I called to inquire about my unit and was informed I did not have a unit. I called my mother who still lives in Springfield so she could get the situation straightened out. She called and spoke with the manager , Phillip, who was incredibly kind and empathetic to the situation. He fixed the problem immediately without a hitch! I was able to get ahold of U-Haul but not the direct location that held my storage and was told that I wouldn’t be charged any extra fees due to the pandemic and me losing my job. I arrived to pay off my storage and was changed an extra $50 for a lien fee but I was told when I called that I wouldn’t have to pay any extra fees and that my storage was never in lien that those messages were automatic. The general manager then gave me his card and said he gets all the emails directly and that I had to pay the fee. That frustrated me even more because I had emailed them several times with no response and I was charged for something I shouldn’t have been charged for.
