There were several things I questioned with my rental. The first thing was online had availability for both types of dolly's for large and small items. When I reserved for the larger dolly, was told they were out of stock. The purpose for my move was to transport large items in need of a rental truck and large dolly. The second thing is our truck didn't have a loading ramps, not a middle seat. I requested a different truck and was told there were all unavailable. Last thing was the key for the truck wasn't working to start the vehicle for 45 minutes. Overall I feel I should be compensated for this particular rental as this could of been prevented with informing me before renting at this location. I had to hire extra hands to unload large items and was very disappointed.FERNANDO A.

I had to drive another 30 minutes to this location to get the trailer I needed and was told that the 50$ reservation guarantee credit from uhaul would not be honored. we wrapped the keys in a note that said â€œplease call me tomorrow morning at this number for late check in -â€œ. I took a 7/8 tank and invested another $20 to make it FULL. i was going to request an offset for the $20 check in fee. Gas receipt enclosed was OBVIOUSLY way more than the few gallons and short mileage we used. No Call. No Receipt. No Communication. That is disappointing. Location now requires a cell phone to be on person. The web site does not mention this requirement. Store personnel stated this was also a corporate policy. Fortunately I had a cell phone but had to return home for it. This has not been a requirement in the past (approximately 18 months) for my last rental. At the least your web site should require the entry of the cell number as well as noting that a rental can NOT be made without that phone being with the renter.STEPHEN B.

I showed up on time and had pre-checked in, but I had to wait a while to with the customer service guy in order to finish my check-in, and then the mileage wasn't correct on the truck, and the guy helping me told me to go on my phone to the check-in link and report the mileage wasn't correct and put the correct mileage in, however it requires you to upload a picture, and every time I tried to upload the picture, it would take me back to the link, and he had left and went back inside to help others, so I had to go back in and show him the picture so he could do it manually. Then he said there were no dollies even though we ordered one. He said this system let a bunch of people order dollies when there weren't enough available, but then there was one available. So all in all we weren't able to leave until 30 minutes after my scheduled time, and when I asked him if I was going to get that half hour, he told me no that the truck still had to be back at its scheduled time, so basically he was telling me because they were behind, I was losing out on a half an hour of time and not getting reimbursed for it. This was the worst uhaul experience I have ever had. My location got switched and I was not notified. The manager at the 225 location yelled at me because the number on the door went to his cell phone not my fault and was no help to me at all. Long wait time via phone just to find out where and what happened to my reservation. I finally get a truck 3hours later and the mileage price was ridiculous. I've rented with uhaul multiple times and never have I ever encountered such unorganized, miscommunication and disrespect this time around...I do hope you guys do better so my business will stay with you.KAREN W.

I recently visited the Buckley/Alameda Uhaul location and was not very pleased with service and the equipment. To begin, the actual service was ok, just very slow. There was some confusion on the equipment and where it was in the yard. Second, the truck itself was far below acceptable. I understand these units get used extensively, and are at the mercy of the renters, but the truck I had was legitimately unsafe. The front suspension was in desperate need of replacement, so much so that on the interstate, the truck felt like it was hoping, make it terrifying to drive. Unfortunately, this will be the last time I rent equipment from Uhaul.STEPHEN D.

One person was working and they didn't want to give me my vehicle even though the gm approved it and had me drive an hour to get it. Took forever and was rude. I had such an awful experience checking in. The representative that checked me in took FOREVER! 30 mins to check in is RIDICULOUS!!! Not only was she slow but literally kept falling asleep at the desk! (multiple times) As well she continued to eat her food in front of customers and would stop her typing in the system to take a bite of her food. I was asked for 1st floor or 2nd. Lady at the counter was nice and professional, but only one person at the counter when I was there. Checking out on line was of no value at all since I still had to stand there and wait. No one came out to hook up or inspect my trailer. I found it myself, hooked it up myself, and after waiting another 20 min to see if anyone would come outside, I left and did my business. When it comes to the location itself, other than not including the furniture blankets I ordered, the truck was clean and the staff was friendly. That's why the location gets 4 of 5 stars. Uhaul corporate, on the other hand, deserves 0 stars and whomever developed their mobile app should have all access to electronic devices revoked. In using the app, you get as far as holding the keys in your hand and locating the correct truck...then you have to wait for the rental to be approved? How does that process make any sense whatsoever? Like giving someone a firearm BEFORE the background check. While doing the right thing and waiting 30+ minutes for the rental to be approved, you're given the opportunity to chat with an agent. This task is incredibly difficult as the text box doesn't relocate when the keyboard is activated, so it's hidden the entire time you attempt to type. EVERY chat window within the app behaves this way. I've never had a more-frustrating experience. Next time, I'll take out a loan and buy a used box truck off Craigslist.Chris J.
My only concern was one of the tires seem dry and old and when I mentioned it to the manager, he stated that because this was a one way rental and it did not belong to him he could not swap me or give me a new mounted tire. he did mention to me that your road side service assistance was very fast and great in case the tire would fail. From pick up to drop off customer service at best was a 1. I have come to this location many, many years to rent trucks and have always found the team was very helpful, having the truck brought around and the send off was great customer service. Drop off was pleasant as well. Today's visit 05/12/2021 was at best TERRIBLE. District manger was on site and assisted me, very below customer service and from beginning to end not helpful AT ALL! Terrible example to the fellow employees. I will certainly rethink before visiting or referring this location in the future. we arrived 20 min late and they notified that we would only have the 4-hr slot from the time we originally booked, because they were very busy. Well, they had 7 other trucks of the same size both when we checked in and out. We arrived on time for checking out, since they insisted on this; however, they were not in a hurry to do the check out and we had to wait 15 min until they showed up. Reserved a 26' truck for an out of state move two weeks ahead of time and the day before Jennifer called and told me they only had a 20' available unless I wanted to drive 2+ hours the wrong way to pick it up. When I explained we reserved the exact size truck we needed Jennifer became very snotty on the phone and told me "my agreement was based on availability and I had to option to pick it up at the other location." I reserved my trailer online and when it was time to go pick it up they didn't even have it. They sent me to another location to get it and they also didn't have it. I had to go to a third location to get the trailer. At the third location they were rude and acted like it was my fault. I experienced an issue with the storage facility where upon checking my unit the lock would not open with the key. When I involved one of the staff members (Kimberly Cole) about the issue, which she nonchalantly prompted that my lock may have been tampered with and suggested how to get the lock off with a tool. Once that was unsuccessful, the on duty manager (Brandellyn Cunningham) stated that to gain access to my belongings I would need to call a lock smith since they did not have anything to cut the lock with on-site, which she assured I could be reimbursed or credited for the $89.99 if I brought my receipt. I inquired about the refund/credit and having management check security footage to ensure my lock was in fact tampered with and to consider relocating my belongings. But instead I was given the run around each time I tried to get in touch with the General Manager, Robert.
