It appeared to be very under staffed for a busy Saturday. We showed up 20 minutes before our reservation for 10am and got out at 10:30. Majority of that time was spent waiting in line. The staff were great, the people working the front desk were also the ones setting up the equipment/vehicles for everyone and it was a very slow process because of this. Need more workers to have things running smoothly, especially on a weekend.Roman H.

The "self checkout" did NOT perform as expected. The vehicle was not located where it was supposed to be, nor were the keys. It took a significant amount of time, and the assistance of two U-Haul employees to actually track down the vehicle location. And then we had to locate the keys for the vehicle. It was very disorganized, and I spent far too much time running from one end of the property to the other. Will NOT be using this again!Phil P.

The trailer connector pins were not clean causing bad connection and the lights were going out while driving. The rear right tail lamp connector wasn't connected, the uhaul representative didn't do a proper check of the lights and said everything is good when it really wasn't. I'm a mechanic and fixed the lights myself. The trailer chain were worn out scraping on the asphalt to the point the links would be useless in the case the trailer brakes loose. Safety hazard!!! The hitch towing capacity wan not checked to make sure it's rated for trailer hauling. I'm very disappointed and I will not be using Uhaul again.MIKLOS R.

There was a dirty piece of clothing in the truck even after they said it was clean(it was bright pink). I rented a truck for 10 hours and brought the truck back early, they said I was good to go, then charged me for 2 days saying I brought it back late. I called and spoke to someone after receiving my invoice by email. They said to check back if I hadn't heard anything in 2 days which I did, thet person couldn't help me and told me to call back the next day. Spoke to someone who said I had been refunded 2 days prior("maybe the email is in your spam?" Nope) But couldn't give me an updated breakdown because they don't send out a new invoice they just refund. Wished it could've been a smoother process all around.M S.

Was not able to get truck requested even with ordering way in advance. Rep who facilitated the pick up was not interested in his job. I had to search the lot for the vehicle. Took 2 hours to actually get the vehicle after the line and how slow the staff was. Asked for 2 dollys only got 1. Truck battery died taking returning it and took over an hour to come help me. The trailer I rented was clean and well maintained, but one of the tires was slowly leaking air. I had to refill the tire multiple times during my 2400KM cross country journey. I was constantly afraid of the tire losing too much air and going flat.Mohammad A.

The staff at the site were very helpful. However, the experience with the staff at the call centre was Not helpful. After trying to call the store close to me numerous times it always brought me to the call centre and they could not accurately answer my questions. The agent was difficult to understand. I didn't know about the $20 fee to return equipment after hours. He may have said it, but I didn't catch some of what he had said. I don't believe it had rained or been wet in the city recently, but it appears the the van hadn't been washed recently. As well once I was on the road I realized that the fuel reading had been overstated by 1/8. The interior of the front window was so dirty I could hardly see when driving into the sun in the evening. That is unacceptable as it is a safety hazard. The dash and radio and heater controls hadn't been wiped as well. COVID 19 concern! I don't feel that this rental is worth the $69 of my final bill. My experience was two fold 1) I ordered boxed online for pick up the next day (with hours before closing). When I arrived the next day the order was not collected and ready for pick up. In fact multiple items I had already purchased had been sold. Or should I say sold twice! Which FYI, is illegal! Rep pointed at a large truck and told me my merchandise was in the truck, if I cared to wait. I waited for the skids to be searched for my missing merchandise. At first the merchandise couldn't be found by my rep. My pick up was 1045 a.m. I was asked to come back after 700 p.m. I became frustrated as I was only person in store front and 3 reps were at desks. I finally put my foot down and advised the reps to all search for my missing merchandise. I was polite, but firm and deeply, deeply frustrated. My so called pick up took over an hour! 2) I pre-booked a truck April 10 with a normal trolley. When I arrived to pickup my truck I was told I needed to use an appliance trolley. I have a back injury! It was heavy and useless to me. Rep (believe it or not, the same rep as with the boxes) completely ignored my comment about the back injury and simply told me the "upgrade" was at no additional cost! Once I got into the truck I couldnt start it. I had to go back in to advise the rep. I was told "Oh, it must be one of the trucks where you have to wiggle the key." Wiggle the key? Do we repair the trucks? Upon arriving at my destination the check engine light went on. Again, do we service our trucks? I was forced to call and report it as I was not sure if truck would even support my needs. I waited on hold for over 20 minutes to do this. Rep was kind and patient. I was grateful as I was close to tears. Thank you to her. She gave me a direct number to road side assistance. All though it was a 1-800 number!? Thankfully truck ran through out my move. I was told when I returned it, that "its the oxygen sensor and they all have check engine lights on" Excuse me? When I picked it up there was no check engine light on and that response is unacceptable. All in all? An aweful experience I do not care to repeat.Amanda C.

i was confused on one part. apparently the vehicle came with blankets and a dolly in the rental which i wasn't told about. so i rented a dolly and blankets. so this extra set of equipment took up space in the moving van that we could have used for more boxes.Cynthia D.

The service at this Uhaul location was great, but Uhaul's early check in on your website is a TOTALLY POINTLESS TASK. It still took 15 mins at counter to ask me all the EXACT same questions I just filled out on the early check in. Then I was asked for my credit card again when I had already done that too when I made the reservation. The message "YOUR LOCATION CAN'T BE FOUND" is a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS when trying to check out. I finally just gave up trying to check out. It happens every time I rent a trailer and try to return it. That NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!. I am hoping that I won't be charged for another days rental again because your system couldn't find my location, while I'm sitting in your parking lot for 25 mins, trying to figure out why it can't find my location, WHEN MY LOCATIONS IS TURNED ON. To many instructions to follow to figure out what it wants me to do so I can finally check out. It wanted me to change my browser, then set up an account or wait on hold for 45 mins to try and talk to someone at customer service. VERY FRUSTRATING!Beverly L.

unit didn't have a lock inside even though advertised. manager resolved instantly as it was during business hours. access to unit was impossible during the first day, even with calling 1800gouhaul. Issue resolved the next day. Every time I pull up at the loading bays I have to find someone to open them - a minor inconvenience that would be easily solved if said doors were somehow connected to pad outside or if staff were constantly aware of it. When I came in originally there was a mix up and I was told I would recieve 10% off my rental unit for like six months to correct the error I spoke with a manager and I received the 10% for a month or two and that was it. Staff were friendly- but not helpful. See above - might want to change to two questions instead of one. Long wait times in store to pay for monthly storage. It never fails that someone is renting a truck or a locker whenever I am there to pay. Some wait times over 20 minutes. They have a “payment only” sales desk but there is never any staff there to work that desk. No pro-rating of monthly pre-paid rent. For example, I paid Sept.14 by pre-authorized payment for rent valid until October 14, 2020 but we moved out on September 26, 2020.I was told that 2 weeks rent will not be reimbursed. Asked employee at counter and he replied no money back. Why not? The storage locker is empty and available to be rented again effective the morning of Sept. 26, so why can you not refund the pre-paid rent? You have my credit card number, so please refund. Also upon move out, I asked for a receipt to show the pre-authorization of payments will stop. He could not provide me with anything like that. He said it’s all in the computer and they will stop because you moved out. He then provided me with a piece of paper from the computer saying Moved Out and a zero balance due. Unable to set up debit card for monthly payments at the onset of the rental term was an inconvenience. Please note: I did not have any problems with the staff. They were always polite. Firstly yes no answers aren’t really the way to go with these kind of things, if you click no you need to be able to explain. So a text box should come up right after it, after selecting No right below. No’s on (where I needed a survey answer other than no) - Access time, relates to Office time, as these are the only times the big doors can be open, and then just a regular sized door is available. I think we should be able to park inside and close the big door, off hours. This probably could have saved me a bit of money, by coming to pick up a few items at a time with my vehicle. No, but Yes for Staff Helpful/Friendly, YES on “friendly,” NO on the “helpful” on one of the 5 occasions I went to my storage, this last time renting a 15’ uhaul truck. I indicated to the staff member, who was new I guess, that I was literally going 1.1km (2.2km round trip), and asked if I really needed make the extra stop for fuel. While he kept saying that I would have to, I asked the folks who spoke better english and common sense prevailed and indicated no you don’t need to bother filling it up. Round trip was ~2.2km (1.36mi), from/to Uhaul 461 Century St to/from 232 King Edward St. Not sure how you could add that to the training had to speak to the other employees. The other issue, is that for this large facility, you only had the single bar push roller the other day...and I had larger items In my storage that would have been better on the mattress roller (has 3 bars, 2 shorter on the sides, and one larger one in the middle, where the mattress would rest against), where the bars are parallel to the rolling direction, you really should have a few of those there. I broke an expensive window, by using the single barred push roller, so ya...thanks alot. Grrr. Spend $200+ a month on storage, and initially the 3 bar roller was available, though 1 bar roller when moving out, and it caused damage to my property. Big glass windows, well, they are expensive. I found the management at the century store disorganized in terms of their knowledge of policies regarding storage unit prices and customer support with discrepancies that arose with my storage unit contract (in the first year on my rental contract, I wasn’t told that the price was increased and because of this issue I fell behind in payment resulting in a “red” lock being put on my storage unit and couldn’t access it). The manger wasn’t professional in terms of attitude when discussing this issue and other issues that came up.
