Worst customer service I've experienced in a while. Said that was not our drop off stop when it was. This was verified by Alcoa Hwy store. Instead of offering to assist and find out what was going on, the person there - whose name is Tony - told us if we left it, he would charge us double. No offer to help at all. He didn't want to deal with my husband and me at all. We were late returning truck, but the Alcoa GM was very understanding. I would highly recommend speaking with Chapman Hwy store and teaching this Tony gentleman how to deal with customers. Totally unprofessional

I rented a truck last Saturday 10-31-20 my route was short so no gas was needed to put back in the truck. I rented one today same EXACT route & when I returned it the guy said I needed to replace the gas or be charged $7. I looked at that gas hand & it was at the same place when I got! I hope those $7 help him! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!!

I originally ordered a truck from the gap creek market 2138 Kimberlin Heights Rd kimberlin Heights, TN 37920. When I got there, the individuals had ZERO idea on how to get into the truck. So after waiting for over an HOUR They told me they didn't know how to use the mobile app and that they couldn't help me they suggested that I go somewhere else. So I went to the Chapman Highway location. Everyone was great and the rental went very smooth.

Work on answering phone calls more promptly. For those of us who don't want our credit card info floating around the web, phone calls seem safer...but certainly not quicker. Other than that, the service was great; and I was given two extra hours without requesting it...thank you.

How do you guys only have one guy in there on a Saturday morning?? People were renting all kinds of gear for the weekend and he was scrambling everywhere. It took 3 times longer to get in and out of there as he hooked up everyone's tow. I checked in on line and it still took 45 minutes to get checked out of there with the trailer.

When we rented the equipment the associate who was verbally interested in the fact that he was closing in less than 30 min said to download the app and just click on return when we brought the truck back. "it's easy" he said. So I did just that. We returned the truck and dropped the key in the box before 10pm. I then opened the app to return the vehicle and found that I needed to upload photos of the odometer and inside of the truck. The could have easily been mention during the app discussion. Oh by the way you will need to take these photos and then drop the key in the box. Not that time consuming. When I was unable to complete the return I begin calling your toll free number. After being on hold for 15+ minutes I chose the chat option. Kathryn was most kind and understanding, she noted that we should not be charged the additional late fee. Today I receive a call from I'm assuming the manager at this location wanting to know why we felt we shouldn't be charged. He continually kept making a point that I should have know that the odometer reading had to be entered. I said no I wasn't aware, had someone told me that I would be happy to do so. He said that they didn't have time to walk people through step 1, step 2 and so on. He said he had refunded the late fee and I thanked him. However he went back in to his spiel about why I didnt understand that the odometer reading had to be entered. His next line was never mind I gave you the refund this is done. I said so you have nothing else to say and he ended the call. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! I have rented from uhaul on several occasion but rest assured it will never be from this location again. This was a last minute, emergency move that had to be made, we had no choice but to rent something. His lack or true concern, respect and willingness to understand that the consumer is trying to explain that just a few short instructions would have made this entire experience easier and more enjoyable. He needs to consider a different occupation where he doesn't have to deal with the public.

I scheduled my pick up time for 9am and no one was there to even open the store till 10 am, put behind my entire day of moving and the people who took time out of there day to help me move. There were also about 6 other customers waiting to get there reserved uhaul as well, and one of them told me the same thing happened to him last Friday when he tried to get a uhaul .

I feel that when you have no storage units available to customers, you should offer the U-boxes at the storage unit rates. It is not the customer's fault that you do not have units available. I had 5 boxes for a fee of about $300 per month. I think that a 10'x20' is only $180.

I returned my 6 x 12 cargo van at 8:30 pm. the return lanes were already filled with trucks and trailers, leaving no real room for me to leave my unit. Increase the space for after hour returns.

The after hours trailer drop off should not be behind the main building. Once you turn the corner to the rear you are trapped if both lanes are full of vehicles. Backing a trailer up around a corner is challenging to an experienced driver. I can't imagine what it would be for someone without my skills. My recommendation is to provide after hours drop off to the front of building. I know they want to have a lot of equipment on site for rent but I think they can rearange things up front to make it more convenient and safer for after hour trailer drop off. I won't be using that location after hours again.

Online check in took nearly half an hour. Even the guy working there seemed annoyed with how long it was taking. Plus, you guys overcharged me. I was told I drove the truck 25 miles, which simply wasn't true. I have photos to prove it was actually 19 miles, however I didn't feel like arguing over $6 with the guy working at the time. After getting my receipt, I realized the starting mileage was wrong and that was being charged for 6 miles before I even left the lot.

This is the worst experience I have ever had!!! Despite the fact that I reserved a 10' truck a month in advance, confirmed it as I was instructed to do the day before, I arrived at the Uhaul location and there was NO TRUCK. As most people are, I was on a set schedule, move out date, travel 700 miles, move in date one day later etc. Apparently when I called to confirm that my truck would in fact be there the day the following day, as I was instructed by Uhaul to do, I was in fact, not calling the location, I was unknowingly calling the “call center,” who had absolutely NO idea what the actual location had on their lot. They were basing the confirmation by looking on the computer. And it was the LOCAL PHONE NUMBER OF THE UHAUL that I called! They NEVER told me that they were not the local Uhaul, they absolutely did not tell me that they were 10 states away, But they did tell me, “Yep, you're all set, we've got your 10' truck.” (Originally I only needed a van but because UHaul doesn't allow their vans to go one way out of state, I had to size up to a 10' truck, which is what I reserved a month ago). When I arrived at the lot to pick up the truck and load it at my reserved time of 10:00 am, the 10' truck was not there, as I mentioned before. The employee searched the state for another 10 foot truck and there none available. I was offered a 15' truck which if you are a 20 year old and have never driven a 10', a 15' truck is substantially larger especially if you are driving through the mountains for the first time. I will have to say, the young employee who had to deal with this gigantic mess which was not HIS fault, (he had no idea that the call center confirmed the truck that HE DIDNT HAVE ON HIS LOT), was very professional. He didn't get at all agitated, as did we, and was very apologetic, offering us a larger truck with a discount. I think it's shameful the way Uhaul allows its “call Center” to accept and confirm trucks for local locations!! The “call centers” should call the actual locations WITHOUT ONLY LOOKING ON LINE and confirm that the client's truck is there. Uhaul should however be awarded for their employee interviewing process.

Final drop Off was great. Please note, I was sent to the wrong location from the pickup point in Arkansas. It caused major activation. The place I went was on Kingston Highway was wrong and would NOT priced help!!!! I was on hold for 29 minutes while driving to Chapman hi way. Was told they had storage. They guy at uhaul Was an asshole. He would not help either. I drove to Clinton Highway and they were great. Long story short is it customer service was a zero out of ten. I will give u an opportunity to discuss with me prior to posting my issues in social media.

The facility interior was great!! My only complaint would be that there wasn't enough room for the employees to store the equipment.. I would also say “ kudos” to the gentleman that helped me with my pick up.. It was a rainy day and he was stretched out checking people in and out. Plus getting equipment hooked up all with a positive attitude .. Bravo.

Truck cabin has a terrible smell of smoke. Person who checked me in was extremely rude. Was given a truck with slightly over 1/2 of a tank of gas. Extremely difficult to fill tank to this level. Should never give out a truck unless it's full. This, creating gas problems on return.

I'm not sure what the policy was for east TN at the time of my pickup, but I was surprised to see your employees not wearing mask for COVID-19.

There was one staff member working the counter and three staff out back smoking rather than working. They were so backed up there was not a place to drop the trailer and no one there to show where to drop. The 'manager' who was behind the counter by himself said, 'just drop it behind the building' which I did. If there is a backlog like that, all of the staff should pitch in and help. It was ridiculous.

The dealer marked the gas line wrong. It was not seven eight's full of gas, but between a four and and a half tank. I had added the gas to the place it was when I picked it up and verified with the driver I used as well. I would like a $20 refund to have to fill the truck up to seven eights full, which was wrong!! They accused us of stealing furniture pads when we brought them from Indiana with us. The company that helped us move wrapped all our furniture in those pads and charged us for them and this Uhaul location claimed we stole their pads when they don't have on record ever loaning us any. Very rude and unreasonable to deal with!

When I came to unload truck i had to wait while worker slowly cleaned vehicles for 45 minutes. No hurry no sense of urgency didn’t care that myself and another customer was waiting. Then had a bad attitude when giving him my information. Other than the employee it was a good experience

Sure the facility was what you would expect from a storage and rental facility, but what set the Chapman Hwy. location apart was the staff. They were all extremely helpful and accommodating.

Make sure you check the gas level in the truck and make them note when it is not empty. Got stuck paying for a quarter tank of gas for no reason even though I only drove 20 miles altogether.
