The service and support provided by the Mercury Boulevard location was good to excellent. That said, the experience of reserving and confirming a rental was very poor. This had increased severity as I was traveling from 3 hours away. Several days in advance, I reserved a 5x8 enclosed trailer via the website for pickup at Mercury Boulevard UHaul. I was contacted and told that a 5x8 would not be available, but a 6x12 enclosed trailer would be available and I agreed to the added cost. I was subsequently contacted and told that the Mercury location would not have the trailer, but the Warwick Boulevard location (11 miles away) would have one. I agreed to the switch. When I drove down to the Warwick location, they contacted me when I was about 5-1o minutes away to apologize that they would not have the trailer. I told them my preference was the Mercury location and agree to a 6x12 open trailer as that was all that was available at the location. I was then able to pick up the 6x12 trailer at Mercury 30 minutes later. The service provided thereafter at Mercury was good to excellent.CHARLESRALPH B.

Manager wearing pentagram earrings told me she's often able to pressure customers into buying insurance. It wasn't the most professional reveal but good for her. Manager stated motorcycle trailers must be returned to same location. Also said credit card reader doesn't sense card chips and hasn't for a year. The young man who hooked up the trailer was on video chat with his girlfriend the entire interaction, or should I say non-interaction? He did put the phone in his pocket to hook up the trailer. Never checked to see if lights worked. // Apathy in the air when I returned trailer. Observed U-Haul employee face-in-phone who may have been responsible for meeting people under the return overhang area, which was blocked with a empty U-Haul truck. No one came out, so I went in. Same manager stated going to walk to Walmart. New employee stated, "Sure, leave the new girl alone." Another employee helped her, thankfully. I ended up backing up and disconnected the trailer myself because no one came out to help. Drove away shaking my head at how apathetic the U-crew is.BENJAMINJOHN W.

Better customer service! I was inquiring information because I was unfamiliar about the mobile pick up option, and I quickly parked in front of the door while my parents were in the vehicle and son. As I was walking inside the door, a driver passed by saying I couldn't park in front being rude. I didn't even know if she was an employee. So I entered and there were two customers in front. The lady that was rude had quickly walked behind me and went to sign paperwork and she told the lady who appeared to be the supervisor, to say someone block the entrance when I didn't. The supervisor escalated the situation further, and I told her that I will call my parents to move the car to ask her a question about the mobile pick up. She quickly left the customer she was attending to tell my parents to move the car, she banged on my car and my dad was highly upset that she started screaming at him to move the car when I told her I was calling them to move the car. Highly despicable, and I was on a time crunch she could've help me and made it difficult to search for my reservation, she didn't want to service me, so she tended to other customers while trying to ignore me. I made a reservation online for an 8' pick up truck to be picked up at 8PM using 24/7 truck share. Once I got to the store to begin the pickup process I received an error message saying that I had to wait until the store opened to pick up the truck...I called customer service and waited for 45+ minutes for someone to help me only to discover that this location does not have all of its trucks signed up for 24/7 truck share. Why would you let me reserve something that doesnt have the means to be picked up after hours? Customer service switched our reservation to a different truck that did have truck share so we were able to use that.Hannah J.

But only thing was when I came to 1023 W Mercury Blvd Hampton, VA 23666 location and asked to drope off my truck there because location that was assigned to me was closed and when I called they hang up in a middle of my question, they said no, you have to drope off there. We were driving 7 hours and were so tired. So we went to closed location and called u-haul. And they changed the location to 1023 W Mercury Blvd Hampton, VA 23666. So they just wast our time and made us drive more. That's why only 4 stars.Oleksii D.

One of the workers was not pleasant AT ALL. Her demeanor was not one that made it seem like she wanted to help with something as basic as helping me understand the process for renting materials. I even witnessed her mumble a smart comment under her breath towards another customer. Worst customer service I've ever had. I wanted to confirm our reservation and was left on hold for an hour and a half. We made it halfway through North Carolina before getting answered. The girl on the phone was beyond rude and short about helping. We finally get there and she tells me that they're closed I ask how I can sign in online and she just repeats that they're closed and she can't help me at all. It was 7:03. I asked where I was gonna put a huge truck, moving from Florida to Virginia and she shrugged at me. The next day was no better trying to get checked in. Same girl. Same bad attitude. I was over charged, I never rented a dolly, but was charged for it, I've requested to speak with multiple people about it and haven't heard anything back. The truck leaked therefor the couch and king box spring all got ruined. The truck could barely brake, steering wheel was all over the place. It's a two story storage facility with no ramps or elevators or hand trucks. The doors were wide open both times we were there, anyone could have walked in or out. My sister was able to cancel and close the account, whose name was not on the account at all, and nobody even called me to see if I wanted it closed- glad she wasn't somebody's vindictive ex or stalker! Uhaul has the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with, and this facility falls right in line with the poor standard set forth by uhaul. Whether it’s dealing with customer service over the phone, or directly with the facility, Uhaul maintains a consistent level of abysmal customer service. The reason I wouldn’t recommend is one months after I put my things in storage they raised the place. Not a year or six months but one month later. I need storage for six months and budget for six months. I know cost of living etc go up etc. but they only gave three week notice after one month. I’d rented at this facility for 2 years in a row (during the summer). When COVID hit and students were forced to leave campus I again went to this facility. We live in California so I was forced to rent the unit for 14 consecutive months because Hampton did not reopen their campus. Month after month I asked the staff if there were any discounts being offered and was always told no. We wound up going to another storage unit place because the halls for the storage facility were too small to where we coiling maneuver things into the unit. The doors for the 8x10 units are too small, large furniture would be difficult to fit in. The entrance into the units are fairly hidden so we had to ask where the entrance was.
