The employee who attached the trailer to our vehicle forgot to unhitch another trailer from it causing us to drag an additional trailer across the parking lot. We also had lots of trouble with the trailer chains dragging on the ground and coming unhooked. We did not attach the trailer ourselves the employee had done it so this was rather annoying.Sierra S.

On a super busy weekend only 2 people were working. They were trying hard, but one was quite new at the job and in any case they were overwhelmed. The line of customers was out the door and the line of returned trucks went into the street. It took us nearly an hour just to pick up the vehicle we had already reserved in advance. The manager needs to get on top of it!John B.

No one showed up to open the place at the time of pick up. Had to waste 2 hours because they did not show up to work to open the place. Not enough staff to assist all customers when they did open up. Upon return an employee blared their horn because I was unloading the truck next to my car before returning it instead of walking up and asking me what I was doing there. Lastly, I was charged for 4 gallons of gas for 12 miles of driving the vehicle. How could I possibly use 4 gallons of gas when only driving 12 miles??? Worst rental experience. No one even apologized to any of the customers for any of these incidents. The people working at this place should not be customer facing employees.Sam A.

I was not contact prior to my rental and was not told my pick up location had changed. The pick up site itself has not issues.Elizabeth R.
I asked for specific flat furniture dolly when I called to make a reservation. When I called to confirm, no one ever made me a reservation. So I made a later reservation and confirmed the flat furniture dolly I needed. When I came to pick up my truck, the seats were sticky and the truck was parked behind other trucks. I have had a CDL so maneuvering was not a big deal, just less than convenient. There was no dolly. When I asked a U-Haul employee I was told where I can find one. You didn't have one. I was told they would call another location, out of my way, to go get the dolly I had to have to move a piano. No offering of a discount in milage, my cost, or fuel level adjustment was made. I understand that it is a busy time, I work in the automotive service industry. But I don't promise what I don't have to give, and I certainly make up for any unplanned changes in appointments with discounts or added services for future work needed. At best I was grateful that I got through the second locations long line before they closed. My friends were okay with changing the time line 3 times. The seller was less than thrilled but they had no other option, as I didn't either, and the surprise was ruined for the resipiant as well.BRIAN M.

They show pictures of beautiful clean storage units with those bright orange doors. Most of their units are in the "basement" with concrete floors, mouse traps in the units, mold/water damage on the back wall of the unit, all in metal caged fences. When I walked in, the staff were rude to the customer in front of me. Told him "they only thing you can do is 800 Uhaul". I went up next, and was told my unit wasn't ready at 10am. Came back in 2 hours, still wasn't ready. Came back in 1 hour and finally was given my unit. The lady was friendlier by then. Another woman was on the phone with someone she knew and eating chips while customers were waiting. One workers' young daughter was in with a "sitter" hanging around. Then I saw this worker go out the front door and use her dab pen. My suggestion is a rental unit should be booked until the end of the month at 12am! I originally booked a 10' truck online but was switched to a 9' cargo van that was incapable of storing all of my belongings. I had to make other arrangements to take care of everything else. The app for 24/7 rental needs improvement. A user is not able to leave the app (at least on the android, Pixel 3a) and pick back up where they left off. It sends you back to the beginning. This was a problem when I tried to correct the mileage reading for the odometer at the start of the trip. The app only let me add pre-existing photos from my phone, so I left the app to open the camera and take a picture. When I returned to to the app, it told me there was an error and gave me a phone number to call. It was 7am central on a Sunday, and I waited on hold for 20 MINUTES before it told me no agents were available and had me leave a message. Are you kidding me? There was never an agent available - so why the heck did you have me wait on hold?!? I couldn't return to the mileage entry because according to the app, I had already completed checkout and my only option was to return it. Your mechanic was a godsend and adjusted the bill after so that I wouldn't be charged the 30 mile difference of $21.Nicholas B.

I ordered a 20ft truck, to be picked up at the W. Washington location. Unbeknownst to me, the pickup location was changed to Atlas Ct. I was informed it was changed because there were no 20ft trucks available at that location. My problem is that I wasn't asked nor contacted about the change. I found kind out when I called to order supplies, the day before. When I picked up the truck, the man at the location was very helpful. But there was a young woman who was rather rude with how she speaks; she speaks at and not to. Anywho, I dropped the truck off that evening; almost 12 hours beforehand. Returning everything as required. The next day, I checked my email only to see that I received a bill for approx $30 more. I returned to the location to discuss the bill. I was informed by the woman who lack communication skills, the system was down. And that they couldn't pull up the informations. So there's nothing she can do. I informed her that that was unacceptable. There has to be a solution. She then took my information down and informed the manager would contact me later. This was around 10 am. I called the customer service number hours later, the line disconnected with no return call from the agent. I called again. And set up for a return call; being informed the call will be returned in about 25 minutes. After an hour of waiting for a return call, I returned to the location. When it was my turn in line, I asked the manager why I didn't receive a return call, I was then informs that it was busy. And to have a seat at the far end of the counter and she'd be right with me. Approx 20 minutes passed before I stood up and she seemingly remembered that I was waiting. She then tells me I didn't return the gas to the level it was, which I don't agree with, but allegedly an 1/8 short of gas costed me approx $30. She informed me the president calculated it himself. Therefore, it must be true. I'm extremely disturbed. I can't believe in all of the years of being a customer of UHAUL, I had to deal with this type of mess. It made my move very stressful. The mobile check in / return did not work. The staff when I checked in was very helpful and made the process easy, even though my mobile check in was not working . I got charged extra for return after hours because the mobile return did not work - but then through email I am able to get that charge removed, so I appreciate the customer service.Lucia H.
As if the initial recital issues were not frustrating and stressful , we then had the unfortunate experience of the drop off facility not properly taking in the equipment and closing out the rental. When we arrived in the area we dropped off the auto transport , then returned the truck hours later after we unloaded. Received email for truck which was properly closed out however not trailer which was returned earlier. Contacted uhaul which of note is forget about getting a location â€¦it's always the 1-800 line. So they assured me they'd note the reservation and it works be taken care of in the morning. It was not! I had to take more time out of my schedule to drive to the location and physically ask then and wait for them to do their job â€¦.uhaul is deplorable in all levels. After having many moves over the past 30 years , I can saw with certainty this was by far the worst customer service experience I've ever encountered from start to finish.Kevin F.

Get rid of the guy who wouldn't help me lift the trailer onto my hitch. I just had shoulder surgery. I also have a serious heart condition. To quote him, â€œIf you can't put that on your hitch, I guess it'll sit there. We're short staffed because of Covid.â€ Then he walked away. I lifted the trailer tongue onto the hitch myself while the guy was moving a truck on the lot. I will never use U-Haul again. Never. Ever.Paul D.

Nothing ready, printer apparently was out of ink- not an extremely high tech device and this should have been solved a previous day, not just tell the customer 'you're gonna get an email'. Not comfortable with them taking a photo of the front and back of my personal ID. It should have just been entered on the computer. Very inappropriate. Employee, who showed up very late, comes in bragging hes extremely late, but could have been there on time... he just didn't have an excuse. Then states he's got $500 left in his account when they just got paid- all incredibly inappropriate. Truck itself was NOT on full as it was stated, it was in fact lower than half a tank, lucky i wasn't going far. Nobody did a walk around, verified, website is extremely NOT mobile friendly- WHICH IS IMPORTANT SINCE YOU APPARENTLY PERFORM A CHECK AND WALK AROUND YOUR OWN SELF, AND NOT THE STAFF, and then are asked to upload photos on their page. Wtf do you guys do when people(and ya, they're real) who don't have wifi, internet, smartphone data plans come in??Hillary J.

This was the best experience I've had at a UHaul. We stopped at two other locations suggested by Google maps before this one and left because they did not seem helpful. I believe Dustin took care of us (based on the contract signature). He was amazing. When returning the van, the store was dealing with multiple customers who needed extra attention and Dustin saw I was checking in, took the key and allowed me to return to moving into the apartment. Checking out was equally pleasant. Dustin joked with me and had me out in no time. Alex is a name I only know because everyone was calling her name for help in both the visits. Alex apparently knows how to do everything and provides assistance. Dustin and Alex really are doing everything possible to allow smooth transactions. They are the type of employees you cannot afford to lose. They are the difference between this location and every other one I have encountered. They provided the atmosphere that convinced me to use this location which was so clearly missing at the first two recommended locations from Google. My next stop would have been a different rental company if not for Dustin and Alex.MICHAEL R.

I want to note, the staff that helped me with my on Friday were friendly, helpful and professional. The guy on Saturday was rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful to myself and every other customer. There only 1 MAIN issue I have. There is an old style elevator and its almost never working. Also its a manual type which make it very hard to use. It would be great if it was electric instead, but mainly every time I went there it was NOT working at all..
