On line reservations were not clear. It seemed like fee was $20/her not per day. The salesperson in the store was great and explained all fees and charges clearly.

The service and equipment were fine, but I strongly recommend that you update your automated email notifications. My pickup location was changed, and the notification email subject line was exactly the same as my initial order email, so I assumed it was a duplicate and didn't pay much attention, which ended with me driving to the wrong location. I recognize that it was my own error, but for such a major change, the subject line should state that a change has been made. In my opinion, the body of the email also took too long to get to the point. I'd recommend changing the subject line, and having the email start with "New Pickup Location: xxxxxx", so the intent is clear and people can easily avoid this confusion. Thanks

I used your iPhone app to make the reservation and to pick up the truck. I found the truck on the lot and began the 8-step online process at 9:35 AM. Once I had uploaded a photo of damage to the truck and sent a picture of my face, two photos of the front of my license (since the app returned me to the same screen after I uploaded the first one and pushed "continue"), and one photo of the back, I got to the "Live Verification" screen. Three minutes passed without any response. I used the "start a conversation" dialog box to check on my status. No response. I tried again a couple minutes later. Nothing. I waited five more minutes and then walked back across the lot to go talk to a U-Haul agent in person. When I entered the office, no one was there. I waited a couple of minutes. Nothing. I shouted a couple of times; no response. I went back outside and saw that the agents were clustered by the driveway entance because they were selling parking spots in the U-Haul lot for a local event. One of them said he's be right in. But when he came in, he said he couldn't help me, because the online system is completely disconnected from his. He said he could rent me a different truck, but then he'd worry he'd double-charge me. I stood there, unsure how to proceed and realizing I was going to be late getting to my destination and then late picking up my toddler from childcare. Only then finally I got a response from an agent on my phone. 15 minutes after I was first told my photos were "awaiting review." Her name was Amanda and she said she needed an alternate photo number, so I gave her one. Then she said she needed to know whose phone it was, and I said it was my wife's. Then she said she needed her name. I gave it to her, and then I asked why, if this information was required for a rental and was worth further delaying my departure, I wasn't required to enter it when I made the online reservation the night before. She didn't respond, the dialog box closed, and I was told my truck was ready. The person at the desk told me to go out to get the keys from the box outside. I went out there, but then saw that the app was telling me I had to go find a U-Haul agent and get my keys from him. So I went back inside. He asked to look at my phone and then said he's go get the keys. Several more minutes passed and he came back with keys for a different truck, told me to take it instead and, when I said that I'd already entered damage information for a different truck and hadn't inspected this one, he said it didn't matter and I should just take it. Since I had been there for over half an hour and was running late, I did. This was a tedious, frustrating experience, and if it means running the risk of it taking 30 minutes to get off the lot when no other customers are around, then I'm done with U-Haul.
