Extremely disappointed on how the box was delivered. I was provided a 2 hr window & after the first hour, I called customer service to get a pinpointed time only to be then give a 4 hr window. While I was transferred 3 times, 40 min later, told it was just delivered. Never was I contacted by the driver & they just dropped it where THEY wanted & left. This was the worst U-Haul experience we've ever had. We spent 45 minutes at a mobile site trying to pick up our truck all because someone on your end didn't manually push something through, we called 4 different U-Haul #'s and we're transferred to different departments twice whom couldn't help us. When we went to move out of 2248 we could not get your lock to work to open the unit. Went to your office, being a Sat Amber couldn’t help until Mon. Hired a locksmith ($170). Also hired 3 helpers for Sat. Made one trip down. The elevators quit. Couldn’t go up. Unit unsecured until Sun morning. All OK on Sun AM. Nothing stolen. I originally reserved a SMALL truck and was given a confirmation number for the reservation. Once I had everything packed in boxes and was ready for the truck, I received a call from U-Haul that the truck would not be available and they didn't know when it would be. I DID NOT appreciate this at all. As far as I am concerned, once you give out a reservation confirmation number, you better darn well DELIVER what you promised. I definitely was NOT happy about this situation. U-Haul suggested using the U-BOX, which I also wasn't happy about because it was considerably more expensive than the truck would have been. We were traveling from Arizona to Wisconsin. I was going to drive the truck and my daughter was going to drive the car. Since I had to be out of the property and really didn't have any other choice, I decided to go along with the U-BOX suggestion. I must admit that I really ended up being completely happy with this decision. U-HAUL delivered the box to the property, we loaded the box. U-HAUL came to pick the box up and shipped it right to my driveway in Wisconsin. They gave us several days to unload the box and then, came to pick the box up. By using the U-BOX, my daughter and I could use only one vehicle to travel to Wisconsin and we could travel together rather than operating two vehicles. We didn't have to keep an eye on each other while on the road so we didn't get separated by traffic AND it was cheaper on gas. I ended up being EXTREMELY happy with my decision of going with using the U-BOX and would use this method again if necessary. Everything went very smoothly. I would definitely recommend the use of the U-BOX to anyone!!June B.

One of our boxes is still not here. Said they would be delivered on Tuesday after receiving confirmation on Sunday confirming a Tuesday delivery via, text, email and phone. Someone made the decision to change my pickup from May 29 to June 1. I tried to return their calls ams spent hours on the phone. Only to have call rolled over to Tucson and Mesa, neither of which would help me. Whole experience was wonder until the end. Your customer service was non existent and I still wonder why if I had a reservation and confirmation why was my appointment changedMary S.
Possibly add a metal strap about 1/2 inch wide and 6 inches long, to the bottom right side of the door. REASON: I had to use a 3' long 2x4 as a lever -- wedged between the ground and the bottom of the door -- in order to lift the door slightly on the bottom right side -- because I could not otherwise get the door to close. This lever-method worked to get the door to close, but it also splintered the bottom of the door. A metal strap along the bottom, might protect the door from splintering.james I.

It would help if your people were more knowledgeable with a computer and setting up the orders. One person said it could be delivered to the door and the next said it would be delivered 100 miles away. We were not told that a 24 hour notice had to be made before pickup so our people who were picking it up had to drive 120 mile round trip having not being able to pick up our box. You need people who know what they are doing. I talked with only 1 gal who seemed to know what was going on, but over all it was a comedy of errors. You better find out if they are computer literate before hiring. They may know how to change tires, hook up trailers and drive a truck but they don't know how to run a computer.Sharon E.

Overall customer service and service times were good. The moving help at the destination was good. But my box was dropped or tipped. I'll have to do an insurance claim today. Everything looked good and was in its same spot when I opened the doors. But legs were broken on furniture, that wasn't packed resting on the legs (we purposely put them in upside down so there'd be no stress on the legs), and with nothing on top of them. Other furniture was heavily scraped. We packed very well in between items to avoid shifting. I'm going to go through the packed boxes today to see if there were other damages and then submit my insurance claim. I'd strongly advise customers to pay for the insurance - these boxes, at some point along the way, are not handled as if people's lives are packed inside.Jolanda B.
My U-Boxes were moved to Mesa without receiving notification. Also, I initially scheduled a delivery for Saturday, April 30th and was told my boxes were at the 84th/Hayden Uhaul location in Scottsdale. I called back to change my delivery to a pick-up on Sunday, May 1st and requested that my boxes be prepped for pick-up. I received a call at the end of the week to confirm the delivery at which time I stated I had already called to change to delivery to a pick-up. The representative said it wasn't updated in the system with notes but they would do that now. When my movers arrived on Sunday at 84th/Hayden they were told that my U-Boxes could not be located. After an extended period of time they were told they had been found in Mesa and that I had requested this (not true or accurate). I then called to get more information and after much back-n-forth the boxes were delivered LATE. This is not acceptable. I am now seeing two delivery charges for amounts greater than I was informed. I was told that I would get an automatic $50 and the delivery was $79 which the rep would request be waived based on the situation. Uhaul also needs to pay for the movers as I had to reschedule and had already put a deposit down for the morning--the move should have been done before noon on Sunday, instead, the boxes didn't arrive until after 5 pm and the move wasn't complete until after midnight. I did everything I was supposed to do, providing Uhaul with plenty of advance notice and to learn my boxes were lost, notes weren't updated, my movers were inconvenienced, I was inconvenienced is not acceptable. I have been very flexible from the start but this needs to be properly addressed and compensated. Service is everything. I entrusted Uhaul with my moving and storage with a poor result.Jody G.

TERRIBLE! I would never rent a Ubox again. it was suppose to be shipped in October and after paying months of storage fees and having to spend hours calling and following up daily the box was finally shipped in February. Then when i went to unload the ubox i was told it was not there even though 3 people prior had told me it had been delivered. it was the worst experence with the most disorganized people. Consistency, transparency, and answering the phones would be helpful. I had more trouble getting a local facility to answer their phone and provide consistent information than anything. It is the incredibly poor way my personal effects and I were handed that has led me to decide to never do business with U-Haul in the future. My one remaining U-Box was at one location, then without notice, without my knowledge, and without my consent, the U-Box was moved across the county, approx. 53 mins. without traffic away from the original location. After numerous phone calls that I made with NO ONE calling me back, or providing constant information, no one could advise when my one remaining U-Box was moved. No one could tell me why that happened or when. Then I was told I had two boxes and that I had not accessed either since 2020. This is and was blatantly false. Common issue I’ve seen (with other customers) Is I and others have had initial trouble trying to figuring out the how to unlock the circular key 🔑 locks 🔐 We didn’t know the circular locking piece needs to be removed to unlock storage unit door... it would be best if the employee conduct or have a real live lock opening demonstration to your new customers!? On how the locks actually work!? Do not just issue the keys and they have to figure it out themselves ... Other new of your customers had to ask me how your locks work... Having the free carts on hand at the storage facility truly helps, especially when moving furniture into an elevator to a higher floor. Thanks! There is one improvement, however, that you should make. You shouldn't allow storage renters to discard stuff they don't want under the idea that it's being recycled for use by other people who might want the discards. This liberal policy has resulted in a huge pile of junk and trash as you step outside the elevator onto the 2nd floor. It literally was garbage, including an old mattress, which is against policy. This pile of junk needs to be cleared away immediately so that it doesn't attract rodents or other pests. It literally took up half the space in the open area where the moving carts are parked. This sets a bad precedent because people will get the idea that they can dump all of the junk they no longer want into this open area just outside the elevator. This has never been allowed at any other storage facility we've previously used. In fact, there's always been a strict policy against this, which is why dumpsters are not on site. Please clean up that area outside of the elevator and change your policy because it's obviously abused by some renters.
