My truck was unavailable, which was a 17. I made the reservation online as well as I called to speak with a live representative days prior to needing the truck. They confirmed everything was set. The representative was not accommodating as I had to inquire on a 15. The truck was not large enough and I had to make several trips by vehicle to avoid excessive and expensive mileage on the Uhaul. I called Uhaul the moment my furniture was on the truck because there was not going to be enough room for all of my boxes. I was told someone would call me back in 24 hours, and there was a possibility we could discuss discounting the mileage as it took me 4 hours longer to move then it should have. No call back as of yet. In addition, I was told the truck is guaranteed for the reservation and not the location after I had rented the truck and called corporate. I also mentioned this to the manager when she advised me I went over the mileage. She advised me not to worry about the difference after hearing my concerns only to find out she charged my card when I paid cash. I would have rather paid the $9.12 versus her being dishonest as I now have to pay interest because she charged my credit card. Worse Uhaul location ever! In addition to my complaints there was an upset customer prior to my arrival because there was no truck available for him. He was pretty much left outside and being told not much could be done.Robyn C.

Trucks have way too many miles on them, the first truck I pulled out with was returned immediately due to the front end felt like it was about to fall out to the ground and the tires bumped and thumped like they had knots in them! Couldn't steer it, dangerously damaged. That had over 99K miles, and it was a 20 ft I needed. The second truck, only 17 ft, had over 177K miles but it did drive a bit better but still had play in the steering. The only thing I can give compliment to is that it had cold A/C. But hit a bump in the road and OMG! I originally rented for two days/48 hours but returned the truck within 24 hrs due to the condition(s). I paid the same rate for a 17' truck that a 20' or 24' rate was, and I think it should have been the same rate as the 15' truck @ 29.99, not 39.99. That is still too much to pay for these poor condition trucks and put renters/customers at risk of being in an accident! This is not my first experience in my life renting from truck rental, Uhaul or Ryder. Ryder has always given me better trucks to drive, even new from VA to CA or vice versa.KERRY B.

The young lady seemed to be having a bad morning but I remained pleasant with her. I didn't ask for the insurance and was charged for it and I didn't use the hand truck but I believe the green zip tie broke when I went over the rail road tracks on Turlington Rd (which I did explain). The business interaction was very cold and I don't mind spending money but when you combine both it was less than recommendable. I hope you at least consider what I have explained to you. Bad customer service. It's a sign that says hours of storage access until 10pm. I got there at 930 one night and my code didn't work. I called Heathers number and she didn't pick up. I rented a 20 ft truck a week ahead of move online and it was confirmed. Two days prior to move I was notified no 20 ft was available. All we could get was 15 ft. We rented a 20 ft because that is what we needed. Once at my sons home loading up it became obvious the 15 ft would not hold all the furniture. His girlfriend had to rent another truck. It was all a very stressful process. Not sure I will use Uhaul again for fear of not getting what we ordered and needed. You can't just cancel a move at the last minute as moves are time sensitive. My original online order was for a same day drop off at location my son was moving to. After it was changed to 15 ft truck I was told same day drop off was not available and we would have to keep an extra day and return to original location. They said they gave me a free day. But if we hadn't had to return it to original location we could have saved money on mileage. I'm not one to complain, but this was all a very disappointing situation. Not only did I spend $303 on my truck but it ended up being necessary for my sons girlfriend to spend more money on getting an additional truck. No one has explained to me yet how a 20' truck was ordered online and confirmed then ends up not being available. Sure would like to know how that happens.Vanessa R.

I was treated very poorly by the staff. The one female employee Danielle came to work dressed unprofessional. She had on tights that were see through with no underwear and I could see her bare behind when she stepped onto the truck. She pulled down her jacket but it didn't help. much. Also the other representative Heather treated a white couple better than she treated me. I asked if she could make a call for me because my phone died and she was hesitant. Then said she could and although I stood in front of the brown line while conducting my initial rental. She asked me to step behind the brown line while I responded to the call she placed for me on speaker. The white couple was not standing behind the line at all. Also I had to wait for my ride and although I told them I saw a used syringe/needle on the uhaul property they didn't have a concern in the world. They didn't offer me to wait inside behind the line. I sat outside on the curb for about an hour in the cold waiting on my ride. Lastly I called checking in to let them know that I would be late. At 1 o'clock I was still at the gas pump not to far from the place and I believe I turned the truck it at 105 or 110 and was charged not only for the gas not being at the line after the line that I pumped the gas to. I had them explain to me where I needed to pump the gas to before I took the truck and she said before the third line. I was also charged for a whole day for being 10 minutes late.MARTINA W.

The associate that assisted me was very professional, accommodating and helpful. I do take issue with U-Haul on your mileage rate, why not require a deposit and allow for unlimited mileage. The price of $19.95 is misleading because by the time fees, taxes and unwanted coverage is applied to the bill it can cost you close to, if not more than, $100 to rent for only a few hours. I was charged for CDW which I was not told would be applied and nor did I verbally agree to that coverage. Please take time to see if there are some revisions that can be made to the truck rental fees that are associated. This was my very first time ever renting a truck from U-Haul and I can honestly say I WILL NOT do so in the future. I found out, after having rented from you all, that Home Depot does in fact rent truck, UNLIMITED MILEAGE for $19. I will take that deal any day of the week. They require a deposit, not a problem, it is REFUNDED upon return.Sharita M.
