Frank D.This location is excellent!!! Owners are great, friendly, very helpful and understanding!! BUT...had originally asked for truck from West End Storage in Smithfield, Va as I live there. Upon arrival, I was told that they had no reservation for me. Needless to say, fire flew through me. I was livid!!!! And everyone knew it, including the $#%%&& on the other end of the phone. Seems that my reservation was moved to Suffolk by UHaul. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED. The owners were not at fault but UHaul sure was!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN. What good are you if you don't supply your "servicers" with the right equipment?? Plus since I had to travel further to pick up AND return truck, my mileage was twice as much!! You people suck!!!!

Numerous problems making payments because even if you change billing info on the website, the address on file at the local facility was what is used as billing address. Even after info was changed on the website! Apparently company policy is only the local office can change your address. People use a storage facility when they move! Address information should be easier to update. I would never recommend Uhaul to anyone.

Edward Y.If I ever do U-Haul again, I will do in person pick up. It should have been easy except one U-Haul employee told us we had to go through the app, which we tried, and when we finally got through to another employee we went through the website and he talked us through getting the truck.

Jesse B. | First ImpressionsI actually feel ripped off. Nickel and dimed for a lot. Orig total on internet was $35 including tax. Then I get there, the van I requested I was told was damaged ok cool. They gave me the next size truck but was told the safe move had to have a change in price. Ok. So my total is now $54-56. Then I dropped the truck off 45 minutes early with half tank of gas and somehow I was charged another $14.69 once I got home. I was told by the gentleman when I picked up the truck if dropped off early, I would get credited back. I only live 6.2 miles away so to/fro 12.4 miles but I was charged for driving an extra 25 miles & I didn't come close to driving that many miles. Lesson learned as this was my first time renting a U-Haul. I will take pictures of the odometer next time and not just give the key in the gentleman's hand & leave. The app did not work to do self check out.

Helen A.Well first of all I didn't get the right truck I was suppose to get in the first place. So I ended up having to get a second truck which was smaller then the first and some how the biggest truck was cheaper then the Lil one. Also, my 2 times I used uhaul services I was not charged until I returned the truck. This time I had to pay upfront and sge told me it has always been like that which is a damn lie because it hasn't I know for a fact my unc was with me both times and he said the same as well. You didn't have to pay upfront the last time. I said I know it. Which made me a bit angry. And since I paid cash they upcharged me to pay a deposit on both trucks. When I didn't have to pay a deposit or Pau upfront the first 2 times which made me more angry. And then on top of that shit the movers I hire thru you guys broke half my stuff my plasma tv broken and my glass top broke, and 3 vases cracked. As I unloaded I see why because they don't not know how to pack effectively and just thru my shit on the truck. Never again will I use your services again let alone refer anyone to you.

Office always heavily smelled of Marijuana. One time I was there the man was upstairs screaming at someone, it could be heard fully what he was saying outside the building. Will never suggest this location ever. Makes me not ever want to rent from uhaul again.

Mary R. | Overall ExperienceThey seem to have a robust U-Haul truck rental business. That is great. However, these trucks are often parked blocking the entrance AND the exits. They assert that this is just the way it is and force customers wanting the use the storage facility to wait. This is a poor business practice and is fixable if they had the will to do so. Furthermore, they should be eager to move the vehicles instead of acting like they are being inconvenienced.

I had to change times on several occasions. I was told the drop off was Tuesday due to the inconvenience that wasn't true. My card was charged at the end for charges I didn't authorize nor agreed with due to the extra milage given wasn't shown on the check in computer at this location. This was an extremely difficult move considering all the equipment and locations weren't convenient to the address given. I also was told that $50 would be refunded to my card for the inconveniences that never took place either. A complete nightmare

Never will go through this again, I’ll do anything other than this anything.

No other units available. This is extremely frustrating when you’re moving from out of town with a rented trailer. There is no light or working power outlets. What storage facility doesn’t carry bolt cutters?

She could or would not help attach the trailer to the hitch and was rude and snarky. I left the facility for a néw storage business because of the poor service.
