The lock on my unit #63 look like it was scratched. And tampered with on my first move in day. The office provided me with a lock with a password not a key. I have to go to Home Depot to buy a round lock with a key to replace the one already on my unit. The storage unit is straight across from the brick wall that separates facility from the street. Anyone can climb over wall and tamper with locks to open unit door. Not the safest location for a storage unit!!!!Iman S. | First Impressions
First I was charged even though I qualified for the first month. Once I get to the storage the door was jammed, I waited about three hours to get help. I was told to come back next day and it wasn’t fixed yet. So I wasted time and gas on the U-Haul It was such a hassle. So annoying to call and wait. 1) I told the location manager in person last week that I had cleaned out the unit (#0092 in Rosemead, Ca.) and wanted the account closed. He stated there was nothing more I needed to do. I thought the matter had been rectified yesterday when his wife Rachelle told me the charges had been reversed but later I received a second email stating $92.00 had been removed from my checking to pay for the month of August. 2) A few days prior to talking with the manager (“Sean”) I went to my storage unit. As I prepared to leave the gate message, a little bit after 5:00pm, stated the location was closed so I was stuck inside. Fortunately Sean pulled up a few minutes later so I was able to exit the property but not until he told me the location now closes at 5:00. I had not received prior notice of any kind informing me of the change in hours. I also have an issue with Sean regarding the return of a truck I had rented about a year ago. The inconvenience is that you don’t have immediate personnel on premises ready to help. Local numbers would not answered and was transferred to call center. As soon as I informed that my storage was cleaned out, my access card was denied for me to leave the property. 1) Locked out of facility although got through main gate with same card and code. 2) called facility 4x's b4 they were able to gain access for us. 3) rented 20 ft based on their advice on reservation call. 4) received 1 lock, arrived to 2-10ft storage (only given 1 lock) called again and agent had no clue that it was 2 units. No advise or clue what we were supposed to do. No help on site. No direction. 5) fit everything in 1 10ft unit. I want reduction on unit cost as we were I'll advised, no direction, no customer service. * I had 2 movers that I paid hourly waiting around over an hour while I tried dealing with the staff at the uhaul rental on Rosemead. The staff was friendly but from the beginning there were a lot of discrepancies. Miscommunication thru different employees for different aspects of the process such as setting up the truck to getting our things in the storage. Conflicting sources for the hours of operation to the ease of access with key and access code. After only a month or two of being in storage our stuff was covered in saw dust and spider webs. It was not the worst experience since everyone was very friendly and did try to help but I would warn everyone I recommend to make sure you are very on top of things and ask a lot of questions because there could be a lot of confusion.jasmiyn b. | Overall Experience

I don't understand why returning a vehicle after hours is so difficult I was there at 8 with a dying phone battery and having to sign up for an app in order to return the vehicle. This was exhasting after moving items an ENTIRE day.Gustavo M.
The check-in process can be streamlined. It takes too long to check out a truck. Couldn't the phone number verification be done ahead of time before a renter arrives on site? Car rental agencies can check out cars very quickly. Why can't U-Haul?Daniel W.

First off. The truck was fine. The job of moving was easy. As far as customer service. I submitted a express check in via online website. Believing it would save time at the check in process. Wrong. Once I enter the service room, the employee said she was going on her lunch break and that she just clocked out, while holding a paper that states the person will be back in a short moment. I shared with her i had a express check in reservation at noon. I was on time and she said she just clocked out. I expressed my confusion of the situation..Do I wait? Do I go somewhere else? What does express check in even mean when the employee just clocked out for lunch. She considered and clocked back in to finally help me get my truck that I reserved for 12pm. After 30mins since I entered the service room, I finally get the truck and start the job I had planned. At the end of the day, I was told I would get a receipt via email...All I have received is a Rate My Experience/Submit a Review link...Can I please get my reciept and breakdown of expense please??LEONARDO L.

From beginning to end everything was horrible about this place. I had to drop off at a different location because of the available storage place. When I reserved the truck I was not informed of the hours of the location nor confirmed I had all the information including information I had for the storage. The reservation and payment was completed in my name as I was the one moving, but my brother was added as a driver. I was not returning to the place my belongings were being taken too. I looked up the hours on google to call and confirm I had a reservation for a storage unit and make sure we were allowed to stay there longer to unload my items. This is the practice at many other storage places and again wasn't informed about any rules or regulations. I was told by the lady who asked, Maria, that she tried to contact me earlier that day to inform me I had to be at the location by 3pm when the place closed st 5pm. I called at 3:02pm and was told that "I guess I would have to complete the process tomorrow or find another location". I asked Maria if she could wait 15 minutes and I would send my brother to fill out the paperwork and get the information for the unit. She said I had to be there and she couldn't change name on the reservation. Again, I stood back in San Diego to complete the rest of my moving paperwork Monday morning. I then had to readjust my whole schedule and drove back to LA. I was already in LA Thursday and Friday when I made the reservation and could have 1. Been informed of these rules and 2. Could have completed them in person that day. I could have ensured we made it at a certain time if we were told. I originally had had to ask if we can pick up the truck the day before since uhaul opened at 9am on Sunday. This is when I was informed that the location had lend the truck to someone else and it went available for an early pick up and it wouldn't be back on time for my pick up the following day which led me to pick up the truck at the other location. Maria was not helpful or informative at all. When I asked if she left a voicemail with said information and she responded no. A voicemail would have gone a long way for a missed call or unknown number. I then had to miss work the following day to drive to LA and now take care of this issue. My brothers were no longer able to help me and helped me doce the truck to this location at 5am and I stood outside until they opened at 7am. The person arrived a few minutes and was in a bad mood. She although was trying to helpful granted I was already irritated with this place and huge inconvenience it put me through. She overall was ok, and tried to be helpful. I picked up the business card for Maria who is one of the general managers and lives on site. In terms of customer service, she could have waited 15min or allowed up to get there before 5pm because her lack of communication.Crystal M.
Nothing at all! I have no complaints whatsoever about this location! The employee who helped me was named Dory (I didn't get a last name unfortunately) and she was the most patient and kindest employee I have seen in recent times - from anywhere! I was renting the biggest truck available and was very nervous because I had never driven anything bigger than a car before; when I mentioned it to Dory, she took a great deal of her time giving me advice, going over the details of the truck, and just generally making sure I was comfortable before going on the road. Because of her, I was a lot more confident behind the wheel and she made the entire process of me renting a truck so much easier! The front desk staff was kind of in a hurry to leave (I arrived at 7:30 PM on Friday). I was asked to park my truck (with my car attached to the towing dolly) in the street and I had technical issues in doing the maneuver from the parking lot. The lady was trying to help me but lack expertise and in the end, it incurred damage to my car and the dolly. I have not receive any call so far for the damage repair, even though I had my insurance with Uhaul. The staff was less inpatient with me once she realized about the damage to my car and the dolly.Ming C.

First and foremost, the customer service that I received at this location was OUTSTANDING! Second to none, THANK YOU! Location/grounds were very clean and organized, management opened the doors at 7:00 sharp as indicated on the hours of operation sign posted on the front door, management was very efficient (in & out in four minutes), the van I rented was very clean and had a full tank of gas & I was explained the various types of liability insurance avail for my rental Employees are to be commended for their professionalism & positive attitudes. The vehicle I checked out didn't have a working headlight. I was pulled over by an officer about it but I was fortunate enough to go freely. Was not helpful. Wouldn't try to figure out how to get me my $100 deposit back. Had me wait while he helped another customer on the phone when I was there first. Asked me why did I pick up from a dealer location rather than uhaul location. Are you kidding me? There was no problem with the rental. However, I did added the Santos moving helpers at the U Haul website. No respond from them. Went to U-Haul to pick up my truck and inquiry about the mover. Collin made a phone called to the dispatch. Dispatch said she will contact them. I never heard from the mover. Aside from all that chaos, Santos movers charged me $123.95 for service which they never provided me. I end up moving all of my boxes to the storage by myself. I had a horrible experience with the movers. I have reported the fraudulent charge to my credit card. Going forward, please attempt to make moving process more simple and reliable for your customers. As the customers are in the moving stage, we are extremely busy. I understand U Haul need to make a commission from the transaction from the mover. Find a reliable one.William W.

I rent from uhaul many many times a year for my business events and never had any issues until I rented from u-haul moving and storage at Ivar ave. I rented the truck with a full gas tank and I filled it up with a full gas tank when I returned it. The next day I was charged for 1/16 of missing.. Really? It was only $4 or so but it really ticked me off. The associate gave me a call in the morning and explained to me that it wasn't full and I promised him that I filled the tank to the fullest before I returned it and he insisted it wasn't and told me to come in and check for myself. That ticked me off even more! Why would anyone waste their time coming in?? I don't care about the $4 but I care about the rediculois customer service I was getting. 1/16 of gas missing... 1/16Nancy D.
