This location definitely was a life saver for me on 9/13/25. I first looked here to reserve a 20 ft. truck but the website said they had nothing available until after 12pm. The website recommended another place that had a 26 ft truck available and because it said reservation guaranteed I went with it because I needed a truck immediately. Reserved the truck online with Salaama Market at 15th & Chouteau for 10am. 9:45 I arrived to get the truck and the gentleman working said he knew nothing about a reservation and to let him call. He called whoever he was calling and no answer, he proceeded to call someone else and a gentleman answered and they were speaking to each other in another language and after he hung up with him he called someone else and no answer. At this point I called the first place and spoke with a young lady and asked if they had anything available immediately and she said they had a 26 ft available at a cheaper rate ( go figure). I went and got the truck and the gentleman that helped me also was kind enough to cancel the previous reservation at the sketchy Salaama Market. End result is lesson learned, I will ALWAYS reserve at a U-HAUL facility and not a so called authorized dealer. I appreciate the service they provided me yesterday.

Upon delivering the trailer, the individual designated to receive it did not assist with detaching it. The trailer lacked a jack, and during removal, it shifted forward, causing the hitch to collide with my truck’s bumper and resulting in a dent.

Though I was in the suburbs and had to drive nearly 20 miles because the other locations near me didn’t have what I needed, things were fine with this location.
The first trailer assigned to me was Rusty and old and tilting and should be taken out of service. I was able to get a near new looking trailer and that gave me better peace of mind.

The pickup location and pickup time was changed multiple times, ignoring the reservation I made weeks in advance. Communication was horrible overall. This location was fine besides having an extremely limited number of trucks available.... I wanted to upgrade to the next size up but they didn't have any availability in any location around. Really poor experience working with uHaul altogether. For this single reservation, I was on the phone and on hold with customer support for literally hours. I will not be using uHaul in the future.

Try to rent f/ someone small with a vested interest in the business. I’m a big fan of U-Haul but the service was below avg, My usual gal closes at 5:00 so here I was. Rented online, came checked out both no problem. Waited 30 minutes and back to the desk twice for a small trailer hook up, asked if it was self serve because I’d been out there so long I assumed I I was the issue. 2 guys behind the counter got salty about it and finally one meandered out for the 2 minute hook up. I personally Picked up 50 pieces of triangular sheet metal pieces in the return line where I was supposed to hook up, I’m sure I missed plenty. Anyway pass on this place if you can.

Understaffed and had to wait both times… turn in location charged me an extra $50 for gas (had more gas in it when I dropped off than when I got it) and $1 a mile for over miles… had to drive an extra 20 miles to pick up thre car carrier after I loaded the truck… don’t fall for the price they’ll charge you more after the fact… pathetic

Not only were all three trucks extremely dirty, but I was discriminated because I was gay and wasn’t they wouldn’t rent a truck to me saying they had no trucks available but then they proceeded to rent trucks to people who didn’t have reservations when I ask questions. They said I’ll help you type of people later. I called and spoke to corporate but never heard back yet. I guess they are ok with discriminating against gay people. Sounds like this needs to be addressed with the media

I reserved a 10 foot truck and then I was told less than 24 hours prior to pick up that they only could give me a 15 foot truck. I don’t want a 15 foot truck. I want a 10 foot truck I don’t wanna pay the extra gas and I don’t want to try to maneuver it in the city. I got there. I had to wait almost an hour to check in as there was only one person working the counter.then when I did get the keys, I went out to find the U-Haul only to find it blocked in by other U-Haul‘s. This added another 15 minutes to my already our check-in. I rented a dolly. I got to my destination to start my move, and there was no dolly in the back of the U-Haul. They gave me a U-Haul with a quarter of a tank of gas so now I’m driving this U-Haul that’s bigger than I wanted trying to find a gas station and maneuver it in to get gas. The whole thing was an awful experience.

My original pickup location did not have my truck back from another customer. Cheroity Webb manager at the 1525 Chouteau Ave location immediately got on the phone and found us another location that could handle our needs. She was professional in every way and understood the importance of this rental as it was from Saint Louis to New Jersey and any substantial delay would be costly. I would recomend this location and Cheroity in the future!!

Additionally, I received 1 lock instead of 2.

Main issue is that the swipe access from the loading dock is glitchy. That is the biggest issue coming and going. Some of the staff were great, I especially loved Kaley and Ciara who were super helpful, warm and supportive!

I reserved what the phone rep recommended for a 1br/2br, got to the facility and found out that it was too small. Upon the General Manager’s recommendation I had to spend $30 more than expected. The issue is, I could have reserved a facility that was nicer, more room and cost less than what I paid. I am extreme dissatisfied that I had to pay $115 for this ridiculous and extremely dirty facility. On a scale from 1-10, it’s a solid 1. In addition, I miss my flight yesterday due to the manager telling me that instead of getting the storage on Tuesday as reserved, he recommended, it would be better to get it Wednesday which gave me very little time to turnaround everything. Consequently, I would have known on Wednesday it was not what I wanted and go elsewhere.

I've had one or two storage units here for seven years, and have been happy with staff, with unit access, occasional trailer rental, and moving carts. Location is certainly very convenient. If we weren't relocating our living situation in the area, we'd still be storing there.

I spent 2 long hours being totally mislead, frustrated. I missed and had to cancel everything cause your employees couldn't come to agreement how to handle my situation. According to the moving company you all recommended, I was given the wrong size truck. It turned out to be a total disaster for me. Then after all that !!! They informed me I can't get any of my money back ($200) for 3-5 business days. So I'm very upset. I'm a senior citizen, and I have a health condition that doesn't allow me to go through this without causing a flare up.

Unit leaked and there was damage to boxes. I told the employee on the 6th when I moved out that I didn't need the unit any longer. She said the manager told her to refund the month, however I hadn't been charged. She said ok and thanked me. The next morning I woke to a charge of $99.95 on my debit card. I called the location and the manager said that he remembered me and agreed that he was refunding the rent. After over 40 minutes on the call, the manager advised that he was refunding the rent but he was having software issues and would call me back in 10 minutes. It's been if over 48 hours and no call back and no refund. I've called the last two days and can't get anyone to answer.

On the move in the mgr was very helpful in trying to locate a diff unit as the larger size we were quoted on the phone turned out not to be available, he did comp us an extra month for free as this was an emergency situation and being from out of state.
Check out was super easy and quick. I started to use the app but it froze up so went to front desk and the owner was the one that checked me out. Overall an great experience.

They hooked me up when I needed it the most and when I couldn't agree to the whole agreement and get back in time. They let me extend my time. And they didn't get upset with me. When I was late period they were very friendly, helpful. Jamar helped me so much. And his manager was so nice period even though she was in a rush. It’s so dirty and if I find a cockroach in my storage unit when I move out, I will be filing a formal complaint…. They locked me out of my personal possessions almost immediately, because I “didn’t use the proper type of padlock.” This was after I had been assured that I could use my own lock, the exact one I used. They offered to give me a free lock… and never did. Multiple times, my key card would not let me into the building during the posted access hours and I was told to just try again later. I lost my job at one point, requested access to my unit so that I could remove an item that I desperately needed at the time, and they refused to let me in. I have now been stripped of the vast majority of all my possessions. All my son’s baby memorabilia, family heirlooms, my furniture, all of the audio engineering equipment I had purchased over several decades. I pretty much hate this company with every beat of my heart. What a predatory scam. It feels like UHaul gleefully ripped my soul out of my body and is now asking whether I enjoyed it.

The U-Haul experience for almost 2 years was a "Class Act." I'm serious, even the payment by phone system. They changed managers in the middle of our stay and it didn't lose any of the excellence. It does not get better....I don't know about anyone else, but U-Haul did me and my family right. Thank you so much.

The unit said it was inspected November 14 but the floor is dirty and I currently laid tarp down to make sure my boxes wouldn’t be dirty . Just making sure it’s mopped out would’ve been great .

For the most part, things were great. I was given a first responder discount which was awesome, but the lights in my unit burned out and I was told it was my responsibility to change the lights in the unit. That didn’t sit well with me. When I changed cards, apparently the system didn’t take the autopay I came in to set up and I was notified for nearly a year, which is terrible, but Rhonda was awesome and worked with me to get it figured out. So overall a very mixed bag.

My unit was burglarized while I was overseas, apparently along with several other units, but I was never notified and only discovered upon return that roughly half of my belongings had been stolen. I purchased insurance on this unit, but even if I should receive the full insurance payment, it won’t be enough to replace all the stolen appliances. Additionally, of the boxes that remained, several were water-damaged, in spite of the fact that this facility was meant to be temperature and humidity controlled.

The lady who helped me was great. She gave me her full and undefined attention even though they had a lot going on. The first unit I reserved the door would not latch so I had to get the next size storage unit. The next unit had 2 locks on it so unfortunately I was not able to have that unit. Third unit was perfect. The only down fall is I had to get a bigger unit so it cost me more then I expected.

I did not like the second floor the lights did not turn on and it look like all the storage units was old and dirty. I was forced to buy two units because the elevators are super small and my unit was on the 6 floor I could not fit couches and a few other items on the elevator witch made me have to rent a second unit just for the items in the basement so now I’m paying 134 per month for one unit on the 6 floor and 80 for another on the basement just because the elevator was to small

The staff at this storage facility were all helpful, and made move in day as easy as possible despite my circumstances. However, the building is a little outdated, and the elevators are very small. The staff here tried their best to find a new solution for us, but ultimately the moving crew that I hired had to carry my 2-piece sectional up 6 flights of stairs, which caused my moving cost to be much more expensive than I had planned (and hard labor for the movers).
** If you have large pieces to store I would suggest a facility with a freight elevator. **
Aside from the elevator size, I would recommend this facility, overall a clean and secure center.

Experience was fantastic except the elevators smell like someone regularly uses it as a toilet. Or perhaps someone left a dirty diaper in there for a week or so before it was found? Heck, maybe it’s still there, hidden? Or maybe someone homeless folk had an accident in his britches before I arrived? Idk what it was, but it smells awful. You know when you curl your lip up to cover your nostrils like Mr. Ed, the talking horse? It’s guaranteed to make you do that.
