The mobile check in (and especially check out) process was so long, complicated, and onerous that if it stays the same I may never use U-Haul again. And if you can't get through it on your phone (a very real possibility) they charge a $20 "convenience fee" for a U-Haul employee to do an after hours check out the next day that they had been doing for free for years? That just adds insult to injury. The actual experience of driving the truck, and the quality of the truck was fine; it's a shame that the check in and check out process soured the whole experience.Andrew S.

Have the other UHaul locations in the area move vehicles to locations where they can be rented. I wanted a cargo van and ended up with a 10 ft truck. While driving to my location, other UHaul locations were seen with plenty of vehicles available. Do I have to shop around locations to get the vehicle I want? Or do the locations share vehicles and they can be moved and registered for reservations at any location?Linda K.

I arrived at 12:25 when I had a noon appt and the gentlemen who were working there were very accommodating and helpful. I dropped off the truck around 4 and worked with one of the same gentlemen and he was very professional. I enjoyed my experience everyone was very friendly and helpful and this location was one of the few that had the vehicle I needed on the date I needed it. Really good experience. Thanks!Gaia O.

I initially made a reservation for a rideshare vehicle and when i arrived to pick it up found out not only was the vehicle not available, but that my reservation got moved to another locationâ€¦in canada. Took several calls with customer service and two hours to find a replacement truck and the only one available was not a one way, so we had to tack on an extra hour and quarter tank of gas to our move just to return the truck.Aaron H.

Maybe a little bit of time showing someone how to use the truck? It took me a bit to understand the locking mechanism on the back sliding door. The are big trucks to someone who drives a sedan and it can be a tad intimidatging.Jesse R.
Not asking guests to lessen the length of their reservation and having the equipment that was reserved available. I asked for a 24 hr rental. I was asked to have the truck back by 9 am. I reserved a 26 foot truck..I ended up with a 20 foot truck. During the moving process my father had a medical emergency and we did not sleep. As I was the only registered driver, our process stopped, because ibwas at the hospital with my father. I only just returned the truck Monday morning. I honestly would like a refund of the extra day, due to the fact that I couldn't move my home.Christina C.

I reserved a truck for Saturday at 1 and organized movers, childcare so I could be free to move and there was no truck available. Apparently everything was overbooked as I was not the only Person who didn't receive the truck they reserved. I had to reorganize the movers and paid for childcare for no reason, it ruined the entire plan and cost me an entire other day (they were able to procure a truck fro the following morning ). I lost $150 in all of the rearranging that was necessary in order to accommodate YOUR mistake. I would Like a refund for the truck I rented and will NEVER use or recommend uhaul again. The absolute worst living experience of my life and I have moved several times including internationally. I cannot believe the epic fail of your company to deliver on reservations that we're made well in advanceREBECCAJ M.

We had rented furniture pads, but they were not in the truck cabin when we picked it up using the remote check-in service. So, we had to go pick those up the next day from another location. Also, we signed up for a different location (the one on Transit), but we were switched to this location for our after-hours pick up. We heard gunshots when we picked the truck up at night--not the greatest neighborhood. That said, nothing bad happened to us, and the truck was super clean and drove great. I was surprised that a truck being used for a long-distance drive didn't have cruise control.Sandra B.

Vehicles need to be checked before renting fuel tanks should be full and equipment should be available when reserved not spend my time running around buffalo and niagara falls, getting stuck in the city with low bridges. and had to buy a wiper blade for truck for safe operation and not being repaid for this expense.Charles S.

First of all, the truck had really poor suspension. Otherwise, it was clean enough. We asked the employees if we got a refund on the gas if we didn't use at all and they said yes. But when we read the contract it said we did not. There was quite amount of unused gas in the tank when we dropped it off. About 30+ dollars worth. I would appreciate getting a refund. Also, I ordered the vehicle online put in all my information etc. Last night I checked in so I'd be all good to go. This morning we were an hour and a half late, because we didn't realize the Buffalo marathon was going on when we got to the store, they had rented out our truck without even calling us! They said if we wanted to wait as two people hadn't shown up yet. He gave these two people the courtesy of a phone call, but he couldn't do that for us? Also there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the employee. This all took An extra 45 minutes! Very disappointed. We did eventually get the 10' truck, after waiting. They NEVER answer the phone and NEVER call back. Very annoying. Every other Uhaul office answers their phone. However, perhaps staffing is an issue. Thankfully, I didn't need to reserve with them -- only drop off the trailer when we were done.Lucy C.

I was charged for a year for storage I never moved into and my credit was poorly affected I would never even consider using this service again even as a suggestion. Poor service and constant calls harassing me about a storage I was unaware I even had. Lost about $38 in rent due to my moving date being moved up 3 weeks. I couldn't get refunded for weeks I would not be using it. My storage unit was a 4x4x4 upper unit and the ladder was always scattered and was a pain to move and load in. The unit itself is also not worth $50 a month. I was able to find a much bigger unit, almost triple the space, with a differn't company for only $86 here in buffalo. A unit of that size was going to cost me about $140/month at Uhaul. Staff was helpful, but your units are very overpriced for what you are getting.Kyle F. | Overall Experience
The manager, Tajh King was extremely rude to me not only during my most recent visit to the Main St. location, but during my initial visit as well. He is extremely condescending and abrasive in his tone. He blatanly lied to me and told me that he didn't have any storage units available. I went to another location and was informed that there were in fact other units available at the Main St location. Tajh also took it as far as to completely skip helping me and attempt to help another customer when I was obviously next in line. When I spoke up about Tajh deciding to skip me he claimed he didn't see me, which made absolutely no sense considering that I was standing right in front of him. I plan to speak with Todd S and write a letter to your corporate headquarters in the very near future regarding my experience. Tajh has absolutely no business managing a customer service based environment.
