To whom it may concern, This letter is to highlight the frustrations with our recent uhaul experience: 1) The truck we picked up was not cleaned inside the cab or in the back. We had to wait for it to be quickly 'cleaned' on the day of pick up. 2) About an hour into our 5 hour trip, our truck broke down on the side of the road. Our drive shaft broke off of our truck nearly causing a major accident behind us. I was luckily able to coast to the shoulder of the highway where we waited around 2 hours for a tow truck. We had to spend the night in a hotel, personally reload our items to a different 20' truck and continue on our journey the next day. 3) Trying to get reimbursed has also been a very frustrating process. We have talked to countless customer service reps who would transfer us onto the next person. But in the end we are always left hanging and no one seems to call us back when they tell us they are going to. One uhaul representative eventually gave us a number to Mike Streeter? His assistant was able to finally issue us the reimbursement for our transload agreement (about 3 weeks after our incident) and said that Mike would be calling us back so that we could further discuss getting reimbursed for our truck that broke down. Mike never called us back (just like everyone else that was supposed to call back) and we have tried calling the number again that we first reached his assistant on. No one has answered this number again (also no answering machine) and we have called 5-6 times during business hours. I am beginning to think that this delaying tactic is a way to escape dealing with major customer issues and concerns. If it is not a delaying tactic then there is severe incompetence amongst this company or just a general lack of caring for their customers. Basically all we want is to talk to someone who can get something done and reimburse us for our truck that broke down. We have heard enough 'sorry' from everyone we talk to but it doesn't mean much when they don't actually do anything to fix the problem. We are done talking to the 'middle' people and just want to resolve this issue of getting reimbursed for our broken down truck and go on with our lives.

I ask for a good truck and was given a truck with a few faults the truck would take a while to shift gears and when i sign the contract they yold sign here if you dont want insurance and after i sign i check the back of the paper and it had some faults writen saying the customer agree to take it as is. Like they never mention that to me but still make me believe it was a good truck. I drove 25 hours on this truck and spend alot of money just in gas due to the truck wont shift so it stay in high idle and i had to press the paddle all the way down and after 3 or 4 min then it would shift but doing so it burn out alot of gas i end up spending more than i should of. The manager was rude when i ask for a military discound he says under his breath a few things could not really hear and told me no militry discount i mention that online they told me to ask at the location as i had to show my military id for proof and after 10 min of going back and forth he decided to give it to me. The auto transport one of the wheels keep coming off after one hour they tie it ok exept one tire i had to do multiple stops and found a uhaul location near the highway where this great guy help me fix at no extra charge. I be ok if i can get some money refund to me due to all this but as of now i will never be a uhaul customer and encourage my military soldiers not to do so!

I was very disappointed with the misleading size of the truck. I rented a 15'. As soon as I looked at it I knew it wasn't 15'. It was 12' + "Grandma's Attic". This is blatantly misleading. Admittedly, this 'overstating' is sadly ubiquitous and, in my opinion, contributes to the overall lack of consumer confidence throughout our entire economy. Try though we may, it is nearly impossible for consumers to buy what's being advertised. Thanks for participating and keeping up with the rest of the misleading "Jones'" clan.

Overall experience was good however I requested for a 10 foot truck and got a 9 foot van and that made me require more trips back and forth hence charged more mileage. I felt that they should have compensated in price or give a bigger size truck instead of going to a smaller size truck. It basically says that you are looking into the companies best interest and not really considering the customers inconvenience. On a business front doesn't make the customers experience very good as it projects a money minded company versus a customer focused company. I've been using uhaul whenever I have needed however was very disappointed how I was treated this time.

Walter was not friendly at all, he served me and my husband offhandedly, he seemed annoyed by simple questions I asked him just to make sure I understood the terms of the contract. The younger guy I don't know his name was very nice and professional, with great customer's service skills. He intervened couple times to answer to our inquiries and he handled us the truck, with kindness.

The tow trailer wheel fell off while in the mountains on my way to maryland. I had to wait almost 3 hours to be rescued on a busy highway. The repairmen who exchanged the tow trailer stated the tire presented a safety issue to the customer and the uhaul representative should have identified the tire needing repair prior to it being released to a customer. I should have been compensated for the tow trailer and my inconvenience . I will NOT recommend this location to ANY customer. I feared for my safety and wellbeing

I was inconvenienced in that I had to drive 15 miles to the location for a utility trailer that I should have been able to get at either two locations within a 2 mile radius from my home. I was also disappointed that I had to go all the way back to the original location to return the equipment although it was advertised as "One Way" on the trailer.

I requested to have the truck I was renting at the Orchard park location because I was renting one way from East Aurora to Rochester. I was arriving from out of town and the location made me have to travel through rush hour traffic and have to plan for an additional hour of travel. After explaining this on the phone, I was given an additional 20 miles for the inconvenience, I was more upset about the extra time it took. Getting out of the city in the truck was a nightmare!! I almost had accidents with school busses. I guess it doesn't really matter where I request the truck from, it will be wherever U-Haul wants to send you!

There was some confusion with supplies I had ordered through the website (since this was not the "preferred" location it didn't show up on the computer). If there is a way to streamline this, it would make things easier for the customers. They straightened it out, but it should be easier for the different stores to see what we ordered/already paid for.

The guys working the counter were very rude. They told my boyfriend on Friday his rental was for 24hrs. I picked up my truck Sat and was told I had 6hrs. When I made my reservation I asked for a 17' truck. At the counter both men told me repeatedly that they had no 17' trucks at the time I made my reservation. The truck that pulled up was a 17' truck. So basically they lied to me. The customer service definitely needs improvement.
