Nothing. Your staff is fantastic. I went to load my UBox 3 times and they were always fabulous, especially Ronice (I think everyone calls her Ronny) The only issue was the first box shipped before I was finished loading it, not because of the folks at Mass Ave but because of a communication problem with the shipper. But you have a great bunch of young people at that location.

rented U-boxes and the rental period was from pickup date to delivery date, however, I was charged for 2 months after the delivery was completed! U-haul should have system triggers to note when contracts such as the one I had, are completed.. The Customer should not have to contact them about the contracts that did not get closed.

Issues with locks and communication with staff. Don’t change locks without communicating clearly to me that a new lock will be there when I arrive and my old key will not work. However, staff was often every helpful and understanding.

The only thing I suggest is that there is a little bit more order when u need to park the truck to load your storage…. It was a bit confusing, there was cars parked where the trucks need to park and there was a gate the was not able to be used … a little hectic. There should be there n employee there to make things smoother. Customer service was Great ! Thank you !

Staff very rude at this location I feel that the young people that work here are only there for the check very rude and disrespectful I called because I was to return my truck at 11 and I was going to be late. As I tried to explain that my son was rushed to hospital and I was waiting on a family member to get there since I am only one with license in family only I can drive it. The lady didn't even give me a second to explain what happened or to even finish my first sentence of I am going to be late dropping off my truck I had a and then she stopped me saying if I didn't bring truck back now I was being charged extra for the truck I feel that this should have been handled differently. I am a single mother to a disabled child. I know it doesn't excuse but I think if your child goes to a hospital and you can't control it there should be some kind of respect at least

The systems are incredibly frustrating when a customer has to make edits to an order - I was unable to fix an error in my address, I was not contacted when my box was delayed (I just happened to call the day it was supposed to arrive and it was a big inconvenience to go get another parking permit and wait for my belongings another week!)

On the cargo van rental .. the customer rep needs to mention that the price includes only 12 hours not 24…van was great for the most part.. Oil engine light came on ,tire pressure light came on and the left-hand turn signal is not working .So if they're not checking for these things before they rent them out then they need to possibly check into doing that just to be on the safe side maybe it was a coincidence that I had them all happen during my ride after they already checked but I just wanted to mention it in case they hadn't been checking other than that it was a great experience renting from this location better than it has been in the past

The manager was extremely helpful in arranging a second unit for us when needed during move in. I do with the facility's hours were a bit later, as it can be tough to get off work, go get my car, and then get to the U-haul facility to move stuff out before 7pm.

I was told I had a remaining balance of almost $400.00 that had to be paid prior to renting a truck, bad business. I was also told no one in my party could rent either. I was not notified of the balance and what if I didn't have it. What happened to customer service? Terrible!

I'm not even sure where to begin with this review... whether it's the abysmal customer service, missed delivery window, sneaky pricing, or inability to deliver the Ubox for over a month from when it arrived at the destination facility, you name it, this service fell below every conceivable expectation I had. Ok lets start from the beginning: I initially considered renting a Ubox or a POD for a cross-country move. To keep things short, I went with the Ubox because of two reasons: 1) guaranteed 14 day delivery 2) cost (~500 cheaper for my particular move). Having settled on the Ubox, we booked the box online which was a simple enough process. Flag one was that there is a charge for it to be delivered to you. You can either elect to pick the box up yourself (free), drop all your belongings off at a Uhaul facility and load it there (free), or finally pay someone to deliver it and pick it up from your location. We chose the latter which added an extra $100 to the cost that was not included in the quote. Ok so fast forward and our stuff is all loaded into the Ubox. The person we hired for the job was professional and on-time so we didn't see any red flags at this point. This was 8/14 when our Ubox was sent back to the Uhaul facility for shipping. As our move in date was not until 9/3, we were well in the window for the guaranteed delivery and thought nothing more. I then called Uhaul and made sure they knew the address for the Ubox delivery and was never told of any mention of further delivery charges for the Ubox and was not told I would be responsible for coordinating delivery with an additional scheduling office. Ok so now I'm driving across the country and I am two days out from arriving at my new place. Having not received any confirmation of shipping from Uhaul, I checked the status of the Ubox online. All it says is "in gentle ride shipping" with delivery scheduled for 9/2. While this was outside the window, I thought it was not a big deal that it was late as long as it got there on time. Well would you guess what happened next... 9/2 rolls around and the website still says its in shipping with no update. I patiently call the Uhaul scheduling office for the location where I dropped off the Ubox originally. They then informed me that my Ubox had actually just left it's original destination as there was a delay on the subcontractor's pickup. Meanwhile, Uhaul had my box for a FULL18 DAYS before it finally shipped. No notice was provided to me either through a call, email, or on the website. For all I know the Ubox could have been halfway around the world by this point. All the scheduling office could tell me was there was a note in my file saying there was a delay on the subcontractor's part. Ok so at this point all my belongings are in the Ubox (bed included). So now I'm stuck buying an air mattress to sleep on while I await an update on my Ubox status. I had politely asked the customer service manager to give me a call back when he had contacted the subcontractor to understand the Ubox's status and delivery window. A day goes by, no call returned. I call back and am given the same runaround answer by another customer service rep, another day goes by, same thing. Finally, I get someone to give me the name of the subcontractor and their number. Well if you know anything about trucking companies, it turns out they have something in common with Uhaul.... they could give two sh*ts about customer service either. So after not being able to get through to anyone at the trucking company's phone or having an email returned, I'm in the same spot where I started. No Ubox and no update. Fast forward a few days (September 8 to be exact), out of nowhere I finally receive an email that my Ubox was delivered to the local facility near me. I'm ecstatic at this point that 1) Uhaul actually didn't lose my Ubox and 2) I can finally sleep on a mattress again (you really can't appreciate this feeling until you've slept on an air mattress for a week+). Ok so now I call the number listed in the email to schedule delivery for the Ubox. Thinking this wouldn't be a big deal and I could get it over the weekend, I am calmly told by the local rep that their EARLIEST delivery date is in October. For those of you keeping count, it's September 8th and this is the delivery estimate I'm receiving. I could hardly contain my frustration with this process at this point. In order to then get my belongings before October (keep in mind I had packed them on 8/14), I then had to rent a Uhaul truck from the facility and tow the Ubox behind the truck 20 minutes to my apartment. Then after having the joy of unloading the Ubox, I had to tow it back to the facility and pay for the truck on top of it all. Really the only redeeming point to this saga was the people at the local facility were very understanding of my situation and were able to help me out with some of the rental truck costs, I truly want to shoutout these people as the only helpful people at this disaster of a Company. So to recap this saga, I'll provide everyone with a calendar of events: - 8/14 I pack my things and they are received at the Uhaul facility. I get an email confirming all of this and think I'm good to go. - 9/2 is the estimate for delivery I was getting online. Again, this was outside the 14 days, but was still before my move in so I didn't think it was a big deal at the time. 9/2 comes and there is no change in delivery estimate or communication from Uhaul - 9/8 is when I actually receive my belongings after going through the hassle of renting my own truck and towing the Ubox behind it to my destination. Unfortunately if you read reviews online (please let this serve as a warning to you), this is the typical experience with Uboxes for moving. I don't think I've ever wrote a worse review for something in my life and I hope I don't have to pay for a service that tops this experience ever again. Seriously, Ubox is a terrible way to move your belongings. Just do yourself the service and rent the truck or go with a different service. Please just anything besides using Ubox....

I won’t say she wasn’t helpful. What I will say is this. When someone is renting or trying to figure out if there at the right place or nit. I just feel and I say I feel it should be more compassionate with people. I may have been at the wrong place I tried to explain to her why would I drop the truck of some place differently if I need storage. She did help me and I think it’s because it looks like she was Theo nay one trying to deal with all the customer she had. But over all she was great she did make sure I got storage so I’m happy and yes I would recommend mass Ave. get her some help.

I originally ordered a U-Box pick up from a more convenient location in Boston. At 6PM the night before my pickup, I was called by U-Haul to confirm my pickup location. After speaking to 4 people about the timing of pickup, the fourth person finally notified me that the location I reserved a U-Box at does not in fact have U-Boxes. They instead sent me to the Mass Ave. location, which caused me to change my movers after hours the night before the move. This was extremely inconvenient. How did U-Haul not notify me of a location change until 6PM the night before a move and not until I was speaking to the 4th person at U-Haul that day about my reservation?? Additionally, when we got to the Mass Ave location, the location was severely understaffed to the point where we had to wait over an hour to ask any question to a staff member. Our U-Box was located separate from the U-Box storage room, propped up crookedly against a fence as the U-Box forklift staff member didn't show up for work that day. I was extremely skeptical that our U-Box would even make it to our location as no one was tracking when the boxes were filled.

Pictures preloaded into the text-web based system U-Haul had available for convenience is in need of constant updating as the trucks wear and tear or as accidents happens with prior customers depending on where the truck got impacted specifically should be a requirement that a new picture image is uploaded again or another complete full assessment of the truck needs to be conducted to continuously maintain the already outdated images that are preloaded until their system up to date. I had to take pictures of my own in order to feel safe that I would not get charged for everything that was already present such as trash, dents, scratches broken parts or faulty equipment silver the check in built system only allows for 1 picture only which is limiting. Also, the only $19.99 pitch sale should be more specific. It doesn't say per hour, nor for the whole rental time frame for the day it doesn't say much other than ours only $19.99 this represents as false advertisement since it leads anyone to think likewise. Nobody exclaimed this to be at all nor promote it at all. It would be nice to know that your getting a craapy truck to begin with so that nobody spends extra additional time they've already paid for documenting it. Again, you wanted feed back, I was honest enough to give it to you..nope it's up to the company if whether they really care about the business quality able convenience that they are offering to their customer really matters or not but most of all whether Uhaul company actually values their returning customers at all. I'd the business quality able convenience it offers does not remain persistent then allot of customer will be lost in no time. Has been twice I rented from Uhaul 1 time in Truman Highway, Hyde Park, MA and second time at the one on Mass Ave Uhaul location within a month time frame and so far your vehicles need allot of help. Specially your 10' cubic trucks and vans to point some out. Good luck with implementing this in the future in a timely fashion before you lose many good loyal customers.

Pretty horrible experience start to finish. I will likely never use U-Haul again. 1. For start, customer support is very poor: phone wait times are very long, customer support representatives are poorly trained (either provide wrong information to get rid of your call, or literally hang up). Online chat line is the same. Also U-Haul centralizes all calls/ chat in a call center, so customer representatives cannot help you at the local level (e.g., Boston, MA requires specific moving permits). I was basically flying blind throughout the entire process with noone to help me answer my questions or provide recommendations. Very stressful, inefficient and time consuming process. 2. U-Haul in Boston is pretty horrible. I have hired MovingHelp to pick up my U-Box and deliver it to my home address. Everything was scheduled and set up on the U-Haul online portal. Yet, MovingHelp movers waited hours at U-Haul Boston to have the right to pick up the U-Box, and U-Haul staff on site was not able or willing to communicate an expected timeline for U-Box pick-up. What a waste of time for both the MovingHelp movers and myself. 3. Turns out U-Haul removed the waterproof cover on top of my U-Box (i.e., the orange cover). It rained heavily and I got water damage in my U-Box. When I opened the U-Box, I had mold, bugs, and metal-based furnitures started to rust! 4. I had to chase U-Haul Boston to close my rental. Although service was completed, they kept the U-Box rental open, with the monthly rent implications. 5. MovingHelp helpers were pretty good. Responsive, helpful, efficient. At least that part of the process was smooth. I don't know what competitive offerings look like, but U-Haul, you won't be part of my considerations next time I need moving services.

I had a guaranteed reservation booked for months and when I showed up to get my truck they didn't have one for me and essentially told me tough luck and to find one in the morning. For the next customer, ensure you have the trucks that were promised on hand and ensure you have a far better system of facilitating these issues.

The app to check in the vehicle was horrific.. horrific.. I'll say it one more time, horrific. It asked me to change all my settings to allow the app to work for me to check the van back in, I did so… and then the app did absolutely nothing and told me I was doing it wrong. I tried several times, asked my brother to try (on the same device).. it still didn't work. After about 30 min of me refreshing the same page and text message, we both gave up. That was the cherry on top of a miserable moving experience

I've already filed my complaint about an outside employee….. the representative inside was pleasant and informative. However, every uhaul experience is riddled with issues …. There should be a line for people making reservations in person for a future date because it delays people who are there to pick up their vehicles…..or they should have to wait until other customers have been helped….. the computers are slow, the check in process slow…… everyone should have to do the check in on line. Everyone I know uses uhaul as a last resort.

Waited in line for an hour only to receive the news that the key put on my storage unit by uhaul was lost and could not be cut because only one person had the ability to do so. Had to extend a rental car and had no access to any of my furniture and college supplies. Terrible experience and would not recommend. Issue was “resolved” after uhaul credited the amount of the bribery we had to pay a worker to cut the lock on the unit back to me.

The line here was 45 minutes for pickup - even though we had a confirmed reservation. We got an appliance dolly but didnt check it befor leaving because we were told we had to leave immediately as the truck they prepared for us was blocking the next customer. When we got to our destination, we found these appliances dolly locking handle was so bent it wouldn't lock - and was at best a regular dolly. On return, I mentioned it to the person checking trucks in -and he ignored me. So I went inside to get a refund on the dolly. I waited 20 min and there were still 5 people in line in front of us - so we went home and didnt get our refund.

You request all these reviews but nothing gets better. It's well known that U-haul sucks and overcharges people. You advertise as being cheap but as soon as someone uses your services realises that it's all a scam. First and last time I used U-haul. I'd rather pay extra and not to deal with U-haul's incompetency.

Forklift driver called out the day I was supposed to access my box. I had called days ahead to make sure it was pulled and it had not been. No one on staff could confirm whether it would be ready the next day or not, and the manager's only response was “fingers crossed.” Waited in line for an hour to find out I couldn't access my belongings. Came back the next morning and it took over an hour to pull my u box before I could access it. What's the point of scheduling access if they don't pull the u box until the moment you arrive?

First of all, it is not clear where to check in for storage facilities. We were yelled at by several employees when we drove onto the uhaul Lot. We asked for assistance on where to park and where to go and no one would help. We circled the block a couple times and after parking on the street, found our way back to the office, right where we had been told we couldn’t park! We had a confirmed reservation for a storage unit, but we were told they were all sold out and our reservation meant nothing. What a joke. Horrible experience! Unprofessional rude staff. We read the Yelp reviews and added our poor rating to the dozens of other. We should have read them ahead of time

The website states we can bring our own lock, but the staff at the counter tried to sell me yours, saying if I used mine it would be cut by the manager while on its round! I have been using my own lock, which is exactly like yours! Maybe the staff should know what they are talking about!

Really poor customer service. The two girls were friendly and nice but the gentleman was rude and wasn’t helpful. May be I am Asian with brown skin. That’s what he made me feel like. When I went to ask something about the rental, he wanted me to go back to end of line and wait 30 minutes. The storage I got is really small even though I wanted a storage to fit one bedroom room apartment.

I didn't like the way manger handle the situation. We gave him proof that we have a month free: to reimburse the money back to the account. He just walked around and keep saying I'll get to it, and said ooh we don't have unit for free here. We spoke to customer service and they did say we can get our refund, they even asked us to speak to the manager there. It turns out it's the same manager giving us hard time. The young lady was not helpful. I stay there literally for an hour waiting for the manager to get back to me. He still didn't get to it. So this is my last time coming to this U-Haul place. I'll take my business somewhere else. The young lady also keep repeating that I should go to Brockton where I picked up the truck to have them given me a unit in Brockton not there unit.

My overall experience was good until the apparent mouse infestation. Everything was covered with mouse droppings, and I basically threw everything away. I was very surprised by that, because it was otherwise fine. It makes it hard to say yes to recommendation. But I probably would with a word of caution.

The unit I reserved did not exist. This has shown me that U-Haul is a crooked and disorganized company. Associates Diana and Shania were very helpful; they saved the day. Jim made the entire process more difficult, for both me as a customer and for the other employees. Jim did not not show me where my unit was, and it took me 20 minutes to find it, and it was still locked when I found it. When I finally had someone (Shania) come unlock it, it was too small. Diana and Shania went above and beyond, got me a unit that worked, showed me how to use the elevator, gave me a month free, and just in general were sympathetic and down to earth. They deserve a pay increase and a huge shout out.

I rented a storage unit on 6/15/21 and reserved a 15' footer truck for 6/16/21 today 6/16/21 the service was horrible. the first truck #DC1211K) sputtered and jerked also the check light was on!!!!!! I turned right around brought it back complained to MR. Jimmy Diamond, told me that was normal for that year and model. I expressed how uncomfortable I was to drive a truck with a check engine light on and ask for another truck. I was told to wait in line to exchange the truck. The second truck#DC3522G) also had a check engine light on and a padlock on the back sliding door I returned that truck and left there with no truck and very disappointed

Was never given an access card and when I was given one it didn't work. Climate controlled area is extremely hot and there are flies everywhere. The entire time I was unloading my truck there were sketchy people entering and exiting without swiping their card. I still don;t have my access card.

Not a hit on the store direct, nearly as much as Uhual as a coorperation. there seems to be a repetetive issue with coorperate not communicating with any of the store branches when you call them. And when i say this, I mean they book things with 0% contact to make sure the store has whatever it is your looking for. This strings deeper than one interaction with them, My company uses them all the time, and we have ultimately decided to never use them again because of the lack of communication between branches. If I had to guess, Id say out of 20 times we use uhaul, about 9 of those times goes negative in some way shape or form, mostly due to communication.. If you just have a personal move though, they should be fine

The employees at the UHaul at Mass Ave in Boston were incredibly rude, disrespectful and made me feel unsafe. Yelling at me saying they did not have a unit for me, even after showing my confirmation email, was unsettling. I asked for a refund and will never return to that uhaul location again.

We were also not informed that we had to exit the “24 hr” facility by 7pm. We ended up getting locked into the facility which took 20 min to get someone to let us out.

This facility always has homeless people hanging out. They wait for the bathroom even with the card access reader required. The stay in the office make you feel like you are not there. You wait in line forever. When you approach the counter you are not greeted.,the last time I was there, when an employee freed up at the counter, I walked over and stared at her while she was doing something. The day I cleared out my unit I waited in line for a long time and left because the wait was so long. I left and called and was in the queue for over 25 minutes! Overall, the experience there over the past seven years has been negative. I dreaded going there.

Our service with Jasmine was excellent. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful to us. However, after I came back a few hours after checking in to store some boxes there was an awful smell coming from a storage until down the hall from me. I believe it was #3501. There were fruit flies everywhere and the gentleman I saw opening that storage until was carry dirty empty bottles which the cause of the fruit flies. He was also yelling. I noticed the later hours inside the storage until is not safe. There’s a lot of random people inside the storage unload area that were not unloading. I felt unsafe when I was there. Frankly I’m disappointed and will be taking my stuff out in the next week. Best, Loc

Hi, The girl at the desk was untrained and very stressed out. We have a room already. We wanted an empty room right across from ours. It has a green tag and a green lock. The girl insisted that a green lock meant the room was not available. I have been coming here for years. Red tag + second lock = renter behind on rent, no tag + 1 lock = normal room already rented, green tag + green lock = room available to rent. She refused to rent to us. She kept asking what size room we wanted. We said the exact room number. She kept saying it was not available. I said look me up on the computer. She insisted that a second room was a separate account. (What business would do that?) She gave me a form to fill out. It was in Spanish. She was very agitated and would not make eye contact. I said a green lock means it is available. She said a green lock means there is a problem with the room. The girl at the other station said she could help us. She looked me up in the computer and we completed the rental for the exact room I wanted with no problem. The first girl was standing on her chair yelling at people to get back in line. The poor girl needs training in the details of U-Haul rentals, and in customer relations. Had I net persisted, you would have lost a rental. Later, I was sent a PDF copy of my contract. My Norton virus scanner found a malicious script in the PDF. Your computer is infected.

Interactions were as expected but none of the employees were wearing masks. Even out on the sales floor and in the warehouse. Anyone that had a mask had it pulled down to chin. Most employees were blatantly not wearing a mask at all. Very concerning and should be addressed.

The Manager Ed was pleasant, accommodating and a true believer in customer satisfaction! I felt valued s a consumer as a result of the way in which I was treated by Ed the manager. That is the example I believe he models for his employees. I received excellent service at the register, and after needing some questions and by the manager the other team member cleaned the van I was renting with a smile. The in store associates were pleasant and extremely helpful answering all my questions and making the the process of renting the storage and the vehicle a seamless process !
