We rented a trailer and one of the safety chains was not properly installed when we left the lot. There was only one rubber clip so he used it for both chains and it quickly fell out of that holder and was dangling. I improvised with a rubber band, but for such a cheap item, I don't think you should be so careless. Just put a new one on when they are missing and do the right thing when sending someone off.

Customers should possess the ability to reset the fuel reading within the walkthrough app. Fuel gauge over-represented when picking up the vehicle resulted in an $18,00 dollar charge.

The employees at this location were very rude. I rented a carport trailer, I had to pull over halfway home because they were chains hanging down the whole ride home. The chains to tie off to the axle. One of the employees named Matthew, was extremely rude to me. I will never rent from this location again

This location needs more customer parking. Not a problem this time, but there are too few spaces when it is busy. I filled out all my information online including payment information when I reserved the trailer. I had to do that all over again when I picked up the trailer. If you require the information to be entered onsite, why have me do it ahead of time? Rental car companies have speedy check out in the lot. UHaul needs to catch up with the times, particularly with the problems presented by COVID-19. On the plus side, the staff at this locatoin is great and easy to deal with.

When we first rented the truck, there was a lock on the truck and one of the tires was flat. We didn't notice until we got to my apartment. We had to go back. The UHaul team member that unlocked the lock and aired up the tire was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Not one of the three employees working inside, behind the counter, directly interacting with customers was wearing a mask when I went in. One saw me & pulled it up. The others did not. The woman helping me asked me to come closer and I asked nicely if they could put on their masks. They just looked at me like I was the problem or I was interrupting their day. I asked nicely if they could all put them on or if the transaction could take place outside and they laughed and the woman said no. The transaction took several minutes b/c the woman couldn't get the computer to work. Meanwhile a 4th employee came in w/no mask. She walked across the store maskless. I asked her to put on the mask when she got near the counter. Then the one helping me told me it was not my business, not to "jump in her face when she first walks in" and told me I should worry about myself and my mask and leave everyone else out of it. After several more minutes, the transaction finally was complete. When I got to the van I rented, it had a part hanging under the dash blocking the brake pedal. I found a guy outside to fix it and (with his mask hanging under his chin) he stuck his face in the van and moved it around so I could properly use the brake. Massachusetts has a mask mandate. Everyone in the state is required by the state to wear masks outside their homes, especially so inside buildings and when sticking their faces in confined vehicles. Circumstances this time didn't allow me to go elsewhere to rent, but you can be sure I will not be renting from UHaul again.

Only answered ‘yes' to personnel being helpful which applies too one agent, he assisted w/1st reservation (professional great energy...once again!)(needing too cancel to still choose UHAUL for my moving needs) on arrival to location (reservations) met w/Jasmine who demonstrated unacceptable communication, behavior throughout her engagement which resulted in the 1st agent took over and completed the transaction, considered canceling as a business owner sometimes but, more importantly a consumer (many competitors), I see the ‘Brand' as a whole. So, Jasmine (in my opinion i.e experience) does not represent your longtime UHAUL Brand My feedback was provided to manager (Ty Philip) informed will follow up w/corporate office as well (waiting callback) The ‘Brand' bigger than a representative who doesn't-did not choose to demonstrate professionalism!!! I want too add and extend my appreciation for (1st agent) (I'm remiss to recall his name) for takeover and completion of my reservation/s!!! FYI, former consultant for corps, business-large & small in-person-phone) inorder to measure engagements (overall beginning to end) issuing reports and recordings on behalf of training, coaching-re-coaching & separation of employer-employee/s My, ‘all' patrons who are in need of moving & storing etc. should choose UHAUL and experience exceptional service, not w/“poor”customer experience I strive too align my business & money w/a Corp. which not only has a great product but, a great team! I would have granted five stars but...?

I am so glad i was able to get there while the location was open. The 6x12 trailer was difficult to remove from the hitch and if the assistance weren't there with the right equipment I don't know what I would have done.

Absolutely nobody in the entire store besides one employee behind the counter was wearing a mask. The trucks windows were down and there was snow inside the truck. Along with that, there was so much snow on top that it was barely drive-able without snow falling off as you went covering the windshield and hitting cars behind. Terrible experience, by far the worst I've ever had with U-Haul.

Fix trucks gas gauges so they don't lie about how much gas is in the tank or how much is in it when dropped off. Charged nearly $40 extra for driving the truck 3 miles.

I had a 2pm appointment and got a call from Edward at 7 am asking when the trailer would arrive. Then got another call at 9am. Am sure trailers might be necessary but so is thinking about the customer. Once I got there, the one interaction I got was, just put it here and go away. I really hope I don't need to do this again with anyone in Boston again. It was bad.

Most of the workers were very unprofessional and created an unsafe and unhealthy atmosphere for customers. Not only were they not wearing masks, but they were sniffling and coughing. I was told someone would help me with my car tow. When I went outside to greet the worker to help me, he walked away and said, “I'm on my lunch break.”

I think it would be great to ensure that corporate staff and customer service have a say over the local branch on reimbursement and cost center charges and actually ensuring customers get what they need in an emergency as we lost our key (later found before drop off) and they were less than helpful.

1. There needs to be more emphasis on making sure the customer knows all the functions of the truck. 2. The radio did not work. 3. Although we were warned that the trucks are not waterproof, there was an inordinate amount of water on the Mom's Attic floor which soaked through the boxes and was pooled there and many items will need to be dry cleaned. 4. For a cross country rental, one would hope that a newer truck would have been provided. During high winds the windshield weatherstripping came loose and was slapping against the driver's window violently. (fortunately we had our own tape and were able to fix the problem on a temporary basis)

I rented a truck from this location all the time trucks very very nasty I don't understand why. other towns they are clean and with covid going on that's not sanitary 985 Massachusetts they need to do better

the customer service in the office was great, however, there was not anyone in the yard to help with questions or even unlocking the truck. the keys did not work. We had to keep going back into the office to get help. Saturday is a very busy day.

3 people sitting behind the counter at the computers yet only one was helping customers with a line of 3 deep. The truck smelled like weed once I opened the door. I had to keep the windows down in 30 degree weather. The condition of the truck was the worst one I have used with U-Haul in all my years. It needs a lot of maintenance. The steering wheel was crooked while i was driving straight, the alignment was off and it pulled to one side, there was a lot of damage to the truck outside and the blinkers didn't work.

The windshield wiper fluid system had a leak in it, had no windshield wiper fluid from Boston to Virginia after snow storm. Had to stop 5 times to clean off wind shield. At the first rest stop, i bought $5 gallon of fluid, which leaked to the ground once I tried to use it.

Shut this location down or start completely over. Rude, unprofessional, belligerent service is the norm after three experiences in the last year. There's a reason why this location has an unimpressive 3.1 stars on Google, 2.8 stars on Womply, a measly 2 stars on Yelp, and ONE POINT FIVE stars on Angie's List. That's an average of 2.35. Out of 5. That's 47%. Cut the mess. Be better. It's exhausting.

I waited an hour and a half for my rental after my reservation time. There was no communication; there were too many people inside in violation of covid restrictions; staff were unapologetic. It is the worst uhaul location I've ever dealt with. It is truly sad and pathetic how little effort they make there.

My reservation was for 11. I got there at 10:45. I waiting in the slowest moving line in the world and didn't get my rental until 12:10. At which time the agent gave me a courtesy extension on my two hour-already more than half over- reservation. That wait time is ridiculous. The “taxes” of $14.95 on your advertised $19.95 rental were an ugly surprise and need to be explained up front. The vehicle was brand new so we were very pleased with that aspect of this transaction.

The employee attaching the trailer to our car tried to extort me for money telling me that I would have to buy a ball mount directly from him for $40 cash and to go use the ATM down the street if I didn't have cash. When I got another employee to help me identify and purchase the necessary equipment, the initial employee then told me that I would have to tip him or he would be able to attach the ball mount. I took my complaint to the GM Edward McCarthy and he told that he thought it was a "language barrier" and that he would investigate it. The experience was terrible, and the employee should be fired or given a warning. It was absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. I am very displeased by the complacency of the GM both by his lack of willingness to address the issue and show any follow up or genuine concern for my complaint.

The check in personnel were great however the yard personnel were not and the truck did not perform well. Check engine light on I informed the yard person he said oh that's ok. Rear door latch did not stay closed, had to use a lock to keep it from opening when going over bumps in the road. Just a really poorly maintained vehicle that should not have been available to rent

The truck I rented was extremely dirty! it had a dirty face mask on the floor and dirty tissues on the middle seat! When I went inside people working at the desk did not have a mask on. When I returned the truck, 3 gentleman were there non with any mask on again!!! I went in to ask if they were supposed to clean the trucks after each use. I asked about how tolls worked and few other questions. They were not very welcoming. Or seemed to want to even be bothered with me. I asked when the manager was in and left. As I was leaving they were mocking me and laughing!!! I will never go back to that location ever again. The employees there were very unprofessional!!! I am also confused by my calculations for the rest of the miles I didn't use. If it's $1.59 a mile and I had 24 miles left of the 100, wouldn't I receive back $38.16. I only got $14. Horrible Service for sure!!!!!!!!!!

Please provide a rough estimate while making a reservation. It was showing $20 while making a reservation and final bill comes for a whooping $71 just for a hour and a half journey and 9 miles of distance traveled. Please look into the conflict resolution that I have raised with the manager and refund the money.

The young lady that assisted me was very nice however the other two girls where disrespectful to two customers one being and older lady giving her attitude with shaking her head and yelling the manager was not helpful at all when the gentlemen asked for the manager he was as rude as the two ladies. It's good to support your staff however the two rep where extremely disrespectful to the clients When the clients left and I was still waiting the reps where very expressive and not in a respectful way. Then on top I returned my rental at 11:10 the checked it in almost at one and charged me a whole day extra

Was told when I dropped off the vehicle that I would be sent a confirmation email with a receipt. Never got the email, then received multiple phone calls from the place accusing me of not returning the uHaul. A hassle to explain the situation. UHaul made an already stressful move even more awful.

After fully registering and completing all activities and information on-line, I along with all other customers were forced to dense-pack in a congested lobby, no distancing, and wait extended periods of time for customer service. When i finally reached an agent, he commented about having to go to the bathroom so bad, but not being able to due to long lines and understaffing. The van I received had under-inflated tires all around and the windshield and room were not cleared of some. Covid-19 lobby exposure risk combined with a vehicle that was a roadway hazard. I felt so bad for the location staff and customers. Inside staff was masked, but all outside staff were unmasked. No signs of vehicles being cleaned or prepared for safe transfer to paying customers. My interpretation of all of this is a sense that U-Haul believes it can get away with treating staff and customers (many with limited means and a need to move by end-of-month) poorly - almost like they have no other rental options. One gentleman ahead of me, clearly uncomfortable in the dense-packed space, asked if he had to be inside to complete the rental. The answer provided was - yes you do if you want to rent here. I hope this rental day and others at this location are not super-spreader events for Boston as we all try and do our best to limit the spread. I have always thought of U-Haul as a survivor, a great company. This experience was eye-opening. I wish this could be a better review. But in the end, I am left feeling bad for staff who were perhaps untrained and customers faced with tough choices.

I booked it for 10 am and I was suppose to get key but store did not open. I called customer service and had to wait nearly other hour to speak to representative and got alternative location and got uhaul after 3 hours. I had called movers who had to wait more than 3 hours. :(

Had two speakers stolen after leaving them unattended (my fault) for 5 min. The manager states that the vid camera wasn’t working and that there weren't any people/cars around and didn’t see anything. This statement leads me to believe he didn’t bother checking the video, because the place was super crowded (mass exodus from Boston), lots of people and cars were in and out while we were there. He didn’t bother to check. (It was too busy for him to check right after it happened - too many people at the counter. He wasn’t able to check the video when I asked him about it right after it happened. They were SLAMMED with people trying to store there stuff and get out of Boston (Covid). So when I followed up with pictures of the exact location the speakers weee stolen, etc. he said there was no one around that day and the cameras didn’t show anyone.) Leaving the cameras out at the corner right by my storage unit when they fell off the cart wa MY FAULT. Just wish I would have received more help from the manager.

While my storage unit was well secured and the staff was super helpful, when I emptied out my unit I found that mice had been living in it. I found mice fecal matter all around and on/in my stuff, and several of my books were damaged because mice got into my boxes and chewed on them. I did not have any food in my storage unit. I thought U-Haul and future customers may want to know this.

Interactions were as expected but none of the employees were wearing masks. Even out on the sales floor and in the warehouse. Anyone that had a mask had it pulled down to chin. Most employees were blatantly not wearing a mask at all. Very concerning and should be addressed.

The Manager Ed was pleasant, accommodating and a true believer in customer satisfaction! I felt valued s a consumer as a result of the way in which I was treated by Ed the manager. That is the example I believe he models for his employees. I received excellent service at the register, and after needing some questions and by the manager the other team member cleaned the van I was renting with a smile. The in store associates were pleasant and extremely helpful answering all my questions and making the the process of renting the storage and the vehicle a seamless process !

To be fair, the office was overcrowded so the employees were overwhelmed. That said, I was given completely unclear directions. I was told that I would not be able to access my locker past 5pm, while the web and subsequent emails have all claimed 24 hour access as a feature of the storage. Being forced out at 5pm meant I was unable to complete my unload and friends and loved ones who had offered to help me were badly inconvenienced. Your system was down. The customer service person behind the desk (young man with a beard) took forever to register us. The young lady working next to him served 2 or 3 groups of customers in the time it took him to serve us. We waited 25-30 minutes to check out a rental van and register for a storage space. The attendant did not speak clearly and proceeded to eat his breakfast in front of us while we patiently waited for him to finish. Then after waiting that long, he hand wrote some scribbled info on a half sheet of paper, tore it off and handed it to use so we could be on our way. Not once did he apologize for the lengthy delay or thank us for our business. My experience with previous rentals at other locations has been fine. This was incredibly poor. I have a future rental booked at this location already that I am thinking of canceling.

The staff here is awful and one time an employee was screaming at me to move my car even though it was parked legit. The manager of the facility didn’t seem to care what I went to him about the issue, neither did the regional manager. So, this was a convenient option for quick storage. The manager specifically does a great job taking care of lots of people and employees, not all of whom are always in great moods. A few things I would improve include time from intake to checkout (it took a while), and the fact that my storage unit didn't have a full wall up to the ceiling, so an enterprising thief could get in and out without needing to pick a lock.
