The pickup process was way too slow, all because of constant internet connectivity issues. The system kept freezing, which dragged everything out even more. You could tell the workers were just as frustrated — and honestly, I don’t blame them. I can only imagine how much worse it must be when they’re dealing with people who aren’t as patient as I tried to be. Some probably walk out or start yelling. I had to insert my credit card multiple times because the system kept freezing mid-transaction, which left me wondering if I was being charged more than once. That’s incredibly stressful for a customer. If you want things to run smoothly — for both your staff and your customers — invest in better internet connectivity. It’s a simple fix that would save everyone a lot of time and frustration.

ROBERT KI made a week reservation that included the mileage I needed, but only using the van for three days. When I went to pick up the van, the counter team tried to change my reservation to a daily rate with fewer included miles. Maybe the team was inexperienced with my request/plan or that the U-Haul website allows what I had reserved. It all worked out in the end.

WILLIAM AThe first time I used this location, they were very helpful, including providing a guide for me to put my car on the trailer. This time, I was told that it wasn't allowed. While I was able to get my vehicle on the trailer myself, it was more time consuming than it should have been.
JAMES MThe tire pressure light was on. My customer service representative checked the tire pressure and indicated it was safe to proceed. I notified the person who checked me in upon return that the tire pressure light was still on and they said they would address it. Everyone was super nice about it and accommodating, but it's a little unsettling to start out on a job with low tire pressure.

JONATHAN MIf I need your help in the future, I will remember to go to the Va.Beach location. The offer on the rental fees are excellent! If you offer more incentives on mileage, like local moving first 10 miles free. Or first 25 miles free in-state moving, or first 50 miles free for out of state to connecting states like Virginia to North Carolina or to West Virginia,etc.. Or first 75 to 100 miles free for out of state moving farther than like Virginia to Washington State or Texas or Florida etc.. I think those are some good incentives to really consider when moving. Keep up the good work! Yes I saw alot of U-haul vehicles and trailers coming and going in that one day. That is awesome!

MICHAEL KWhen I pulled up to drop my equipment off the employee named Hunter tried telling me that he couldn’t assist with taking the straps and chains off my car. I told him I will drive the car off the tow dolly but that I had paid for assistance with removing the equipment off my car so that I could reverse it off the tow dolly. It was very awkward, he said that their location doesn’t assist with the tow dolly. I informed him that the location in albany assisted with strapping my car onto the tow dolly and securing it with the chains under my car. He said “oh okay” and proceeded to take the straps and chains off my car. There was miscommunication at both locations I visited to get assistance and as a first time customer I was very uncomfortable and upset with my expierence. I’m thankful for the equipment and that it assisted with me my move but the customer service was very poor.

LANCE Bvery upsetting and unprofessional experience I had at one of your locations. On 6-21-25, I visited the store and had an encounter with an employee named Chauntel H. Unfortunately, her behavior left me feeling disrespected and humiliated in front of other customers. I had accidentally locked the truck keys inside the vehicle and came inside the office to ask politely if there was a duplicate key or any way to assist. Instead of helping me, Chauntel H responded in a rude and dismissive manner, cutting me off and raising her voice in front of other customers. What hurt even more was that she later spoke about me to other customers while I was still present. I have never been treated like this before, and the situation deeply affected me emotionally. I looked for someone in the store to speak with about this but couldn’t find any manager or supervisor available. That’s why I am reaching out now. I hope you take this issue seriously and ensure no other customer is treated this way. I would appreciate a follow-up about how this complaint is being addressed.
