The person who afixed the uhaul trailer to our vehicle said very little to us. They did not mention that we shouldn't remove the trailer ourselves, or why they were taking pictures of the install until I asked directly. He then said if we remove the trailer and then re attach it the liability is on us. This seems like basic information that would be willingly shared with a customer.

Truck was not ready for 8am reservation. Had to go back at 10.30 for the truck. It was ready by 11am. Had elevator reserved at condo for 11am. Rental place was slow and not organized. Wouldn't go back to location.

I found the 4x7 trailer dimensions misleading. The actual inside with was far less than 4'. I was able to make due but I found that upsetting. I will pay particular attention next time I need to rent a trailer

I was here for well over an hour trying to return my rented 5' x 8' trailer. I had no problems with the trailer itself. However, when I arrived there were already 4 customers waiting in line. There were 2 girls working at the counter. The second girl left and did not return for over a half hour, leaving the 1 girl on the counter. Before I left, I saw 4 customers come in and leave after they waited in line for various lengths of time. This location was terribly understaffed for a Friday between 4 and 6. Also the 1 girl on the counter was extremely slow. It took her 15 - 20 minutes to simply process a payment from a customer for a hitch installation. When I left the second girl had returned to the counter and there were 7 people waiting in line to be served, and who were very unhappy with the service or lack thereof. For some reason, my trailer had been processed as returned, when in fact I was just returning it. The one extra rental day extension that I was there to pay for was waived as a gesture of goodwill to me, so I am thankful for that. But I was under some time pressure, as I was on my way after the rental return to the hospital to check in on my housemate who was admitted just a few days ago, and I was very anxious to get there. My conclusion was that either the system is very laborious, and not very user friendly, or the girl left to deal with us, was very under trained to handle us. If I were the manager of that location, I would be very concerned with the actual loss of business as people left, and the disgruntlement of the customers who stayed and gritted it out to finalize their transactions. Not a good situation.

The Main Street Brampton location service was poor. Reserving a cargo trailer was a challenge which took a total of 4 hours to get it right. This feedback I meant for U-Haul corporate.

Overcharged on hitch installation. I was given a quote for 3 hours total 2 hours for hitch and 1 hour for wiring. They took 1.5 hours total. And charged full 3 hours at 80 dollars per hour. I had a mix-up with my reservation in another location this morning and they cancelled without informing me. However they did provide a installation costs. And their location not only were the labor charges 70 per hour but they said it was 1.5 hours for the hitch install and 1 hour for the wiring. When I asked about this at the current location they said the hours are locked in by the system and not within their control. But if that were the case then why the discrepancy in the hours quoted. I am quite dissatisfied with this as it cost me an extra 70 dollars

The two Customer Service Personnel were very welcoming & informative but my Husband & I found the wait was way too long just to p/up our vehicle. I think there's need for additional CSR's on the frontline as the delay was very inconvenient & could've delayed us in reaching our destination on time. It could've even made us miss our appointment & we would've had to return the truck without utilizing its purpose & still have to honor our payment. I would never recommend uhaul to anyone you guys are a theft, you guys gave me a damage truck and now trying to book me for it. I tried to speak to the manager in Chatham and us hang up on many times and called stupid and told not to call back Dean Green at the Rexdale site refuse to speak with me put me on hold for over 1 hour every one I tried to talk to try to push me away but I guess you guys will be speaking to my lawyer because I will not pay for something I did not do make sure you guys are ready for a fight because I will not take this lightly

I had two 10ft cube truck issue to me before settled one i left with. Before leaving i tried to being atention to the fuel leaval i was told is ok 7/8 but in fact it was 3/4 just bring it back where i got it and you'll be fine i was told. Came back to return the rental of the cube truck and i had to spend more fuel than left with. It seen its a normal practices to cheat customers on the fuel. Not happy with my experence, felt cheated. Enen when brought the issue to the working very argumentative to words me. Disgusting customer service

The line was long for pick up. More than two cashiers on a Saturday would be helpful. I did everything ahead online to save time. A separate line for those that do this would be fantastic!! Overall a great experience the staff were amazing!!

This location was a NIGHTMARE to deal with. The personnel openly chatted with each other in front of customers, regarding non work related issues, while the customer waited. I had to interrupt the person I was working with from her conversation to ask the status of my order, and she was quite irate with that. This was easily one of the poorest experiences I've ever had in any customer service capacity anywhere.

Service is extremely slow. We were in line for almost an hour to pick up. It's as if the staff couldn't care less that there is a huge line. I'm very dissapointed, and this had never happened to me before at u-haul.

Wait time to collect vehicle was excessive (1 hr), staff (while pleasant) either didn't know how to use the booking system, or the system itself was slow/not working right. Vehicle return also slow. On the plus side the truck was clean and in good condition

We called twice and were told no reservation needed. When we arrived no trucks of the right size were available and we were told we should have made a reservation. Also, upon renting the truck we were told we cannot keep our vehicle on site and should go park across the street at the Harvey's. (A little strange since last I checked uhaul didn't have a right to do that, 4 lane highway, and I'm told to park across the street and come back. I wonder what would happen if I was hit by a car? Or, better yet, if someone told Harvey's U-Haul is telling people to park in their lot.) Then upon bringing my truck back I waited 30 minutes before having my truck checked and being able to leave. Best part, the person never even opened the back of the truck to check the shape it was in. All in all i am disgusted by U-Haul and if I have the choice I will use Discount or another company instead. I will definitely be sharing my experience with friends and family because noone should have to go through such terrible service to rent a vehicle. Oh ya, just to add to all the inconsistent service. Me, the actual driver, didn't even have to sign anything. Another individual was allowed to sign off on all the papers. I signed nothing at all. This is weird since in the past I was told I couldn't even make a reservation without a credit card in my name - but somehow this time I didn't have to sign anything. Terrible service, terrible consistency, terrible company. Keep up the good work folks.

I wanted to change my trailer to a bigger one. Being that this location was extremely busy, they should be better stocked. I actually felt sorry for the staff because they were under a lot of pressure there. Also, your system has glitches as some people’s reservations were not showing up in the system. Irate customers are stressful on the staff.

The pre trip paper work is very vague and general enough to tack on bogus charges with no avenues for disputes, the experience was bad enough to convince me that UHaul is not a good option for rentas...

Was advises 3 days before pickup that the equipment I booked in advance was no available and would be downsized and had to pick up at a different location 20 minutes away.. then on day of pickup location was changed again further away. Very stressfull. had to make extra trips sue to downsizing 90 minute drive 1 way.. extremely dissappointing

I had a reservation, and was told that if I wax going to be late to call otherwise the reservation could be canceled. I called like I was told to, and still had to wait over an hour to pick up the vehicle that was reserved for me. I had to be somewhere with this truck, and was highly inconvenienced due to this wait time.

If a location knows they will be busy for reservations they should have more people doing transactions/check-ins.

If people make reservations there should be a seperate line, like at a bank with a business teller. These customers took the time to think ahead and can get through quicker, shortening the line for everyone. Also, train your people better.

There was something really wrong the day i picked up the truck, i don't know if it with computer system or the location was short-staffed it took an exceptionally long time to check-in. It took over an hour to pick up my truck with a reservation and all the check-in information pre-entered by me, despite only 4 people in front of me, i had movers scheduled to later in the day and ended up having to ask them to come later as well. was an unnecessarily stressful experience. The return process was quick and painless it would be great if this could be replicated for the check-out process as well

There is need to reduce waiting time for customers, I meant the time spent on the queue especially on weekends and month ends. This can be helped if the customers on the queue are advised on the availability of the equipment on ground for those that have not done online reservations.

Need to improve your phone services with customers. When I called to find out the "final cost" today (after returning the van, and dropping off the key last night) a girl put me on hold and (apparently) forgot about the call on hold. After about 30 mins I had to hang up and call again to talk to the customer rep.

It takes around 30 min to pick up a trailer, The system is so slow and it had to go back couple times because wasn’t working properly. The attendants are not friendly. Is my second time at this location. I use to rent at Weston rd and 401, there the people are so nice and they take care of the customer. They should have more motorcycle trailers. I had being renting there for 3 years with no problem.

Very poor customer service. The staff is slow, chew cum while talking to you, very rude! And unprofessional. Had to find someone to help me when I returned the trailer. Once I found the guy he told me to unhitch the trailer myself and did not offer to help. I didn’t realize U-Haul was a self serve operation.

Van had less fuel than indicated on the contract. I had booked a dolly as well which the outside staff never mentioned that I had to pick up from another area. I assumed there is an item checklist they would follow and already load it up before I drive off. I reach home and find no dolly and had to make an 8km extra trip to get the dolly. The staff just laughed it off when I mentioned that they should have a better system of making sure customers got everything they booked before driving off. Very unprofessional. Would think twice before renting from there as well.

I worked in customer service area. People working at this place were not pleasant to talk to. It seams like they are under pressure with three customers that they had, including me, at that time.

The receipt was generated after a month. I should have at least communicated that the vehicle has been received and inspected as taken. This definitely is a caveat in the process and should be taken care of ASAP.

I was 15 min early before you opened, and was 2nd in line when the store front opened. It took over an hour to get my rental, and when I did, the gas reading was half a tank less than what I was told, so I got to wait another 20 min before someone could "settle" that issue for me. Only to find after I spend half an hour waiting to return the truck at 4:00pm that no one had adjusted it on the system. After some discussion with the gentleman I returned the truck to, he kindly knocked the $200 gas charge down. Thank you for making me wait over 1.5 hours on my moving day (& thus all who are helping me wait to) and trying to charge me for your own damn mistake. I certainly will never be returning to this uhaul location again, and I will be looking into other truck rental services for my future needs

Charge my card what the actual invoice says. I was sent an email after returning the rental truck stating I would be charged $78.63, but was actually charged $89.55. Why was my card charged $10.00 more, and why was I not notified .. also this locations check-in staff likes to socialize amongst each other rather than service customers in a timely matter. Had scheduled to pick up our rental truck for 11am, we arrived 10mins before 11am. Took staff about 30minutes to set us up on their system even though we had a reservation. Then we checked the truck, gas level was not the same as it was indicated on our receipt. Young man outside was helpful in that aspect, he took a picture and uploaded and assured us it would be update on their system. Most likely will not be using Uhaul again, but more importantly, definitely not coming back to this location!

When confirming a reservation for this (or any other) location, please inform them that there is no on-sight parking and to arrange to take back their vehicles. I was fortunate to find parking across the street otherwise, I would have had to cancel.

On such a pivtoal day such as a Friday morning, last day of the month, early pick up it was ridiculous to have to wait in line for so long just to pick up truck. Only 1 counter to process so many clients, (many of whom didnt seem to have made any previous booking whereas my booking was made and confirmed 2 weeks prior) was frustrating and presented an intensely poor customer service expierence.

They stole $11. I put 9$ in gas before returning and got charged by U-Haul for not putting gas. When I got to the return they said they’re electronic system was down and they had to complete the truck return later. After leaving they send a receipt. Tried calling and no one ever picks ups. Bunch of crooks

This location is very far out, and i had been told by someone in ottawa that i could return to any location. I had to return the truck after hours (it was due by 8am the following morning), and it was not clear where i could park it - there were no spaces available.

The worst service ever......this people dont respect your time... and they dont care.....i booked an appointment to install a hitch on my truck i got there at 1240 pm ...finally after 2 hours waiting ...they put my truck for installation i got it back at 330 pm....yesterday i wanted to rent a trailer ... that operation took me 3 hours. ...they took pic of my truck......so if you have plenty of time to spare or nothing to do go there.....because really they dont really give a fuck about customer.....personally i don't want to come back to this location....also i will forward this review to headquarters uhaul...

It seems like nobody behind the desk want to work. Customers are ignored until you get frustrated. They keep forwarding you to another worker who do their best to ignore you as much as they can.

The staff were excellent the equipment was very clean. The waiting time was a little long, but not excessive. The email receipt took a while to arrive. The expectation is that it is instantaneous, so the employee had to print a paper receipt so that I had a record just in case. If the email was quicker-instant, it would save time for the employee and customer.

I requested a one way 10 foot truck to be reserved at your parliament street location. I received a phone call telling me the only location with a one way 10 foot truck was 1668 Queen street West. I had no choice but to change my reservation to that location. I went to that location on the date of my reservation. I was informed there was no 10 foot truck at that location. Nor was there any other truck I could use in its place. The attendant could not help in any way, his manger could not do anything for me, I was left to phone the general customer service line. While waiting, two separate customers came in after me with exactly the same problem — reservation, no truck. The reservation manager told me I would have to travel 30 minutes to rexdale to get a 10 foot truck. The entire debacle delayed my plans by two hours. Now I am sitting here wasting more time writing a review about it. Pathetic. Why does it have to be this way. Be better.

To explain how the u haul rental system works. Because i had to waste my time going from a location to the other after i get confirmation telling me that they dont have trailer available. At the end i got the trailer from the same location that told me in the first place that they dont have trailer available. This was like a joke. Wasting 2 hours and gas Shame on you u-haul.

Unfortunately Customer service at this location Rexdale Blvd is poorly. When picking up the truck at 8:30 am was really poorly, long waiting lane, unprofessional, to the customer waiting in line. Seem that they didn't want to work on Saturday, giving customer attitude. When picking up the truck the truck was full of mark (MAKE SURE YOU TAKE PICTURES, VIDEOS, EVERYTHING TO PROOF ), requested to change truck and was told NO because I pick it up with online system. When returning the truck was told that they would charge me for all the marks on the TRUCK but I told them that I had videos, pictures that proof that I picked up the truck with all the marks. After saying that they change their mind. Yesterday drove by the location and the same truck with all the marks is been rented again to other customer....

Not enough staff on the busiest day of the week - Saturday. Staff are not organized. Always a problem with the computers. Always need a supervisor to assist. Staff have bad attitudes and are confrontational.

Customer service was vaguely helpful, rhe pricing scheme was not well explained and it took almost 2 hours to pick up the rental trailer which had already been reserved and guaranteed. It took me almost 3 hours by phone to get the trailer we needed, in a location that would work for us to pick up without too much of a detour. Will not be using UHaul again any time soon.

Customer services was mediocre at best... they didnt have trucks but continuously make reservations... only to have ppl show up on time and wait which is very problematic especially if u have a small window of time to move like i did.... And to make matters worse i filled the tank back to the exact mark .... brought it back and the guy in the lot said they owe u at least 20dollars back.... i wait 4 business day just to have them give me 70cents back and tell me it was brought back jus a fraction under.... that is absolutely false.... and uhaul is full OF YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!

the location at 240 Rexdale Blvd Toronto, ON M9W1R2 was Excellent my issuse is with your head office. i wanted to take advantage of the 24 hour pick you offer. i drove 1 hour to the loacation to pick up the van after hours, i long into the my accout to follow the steps to pick up the van. i was ther for 3hours on line folling the steps just tyo get nowhere, i tolled customer serivice to call me, i got no call. all i was tolled was to come in the moring when the office was opened. i dont understand whty someone couldnt of called me. it was 10 pm 1 hour to drive to location 3 hours tring to get verifyed and the 1 hour to drive back home with no van, total of 5hours wasted of my time. so i got home at 3am. just to get back on the road at 6am so i can get to the office at 7am. like i said sevice great a location. but customer service was a big waste of time, i couyld of saved 6 hours if i decided to just deal with the loacvtion in person. but i thought it was a great idea to pick it up the night before. now becase of all that waste of time and i will NOT RENT OR RECOMMENED U HAUL to anyone, and i will highly recommend to not rent a u haul

Bait and switch. I reserved a trailer for pick up at a specific time at a specific place. When I arrived, the trailer was not there and there was no other trailers even approaching the size I wanted. I had to rent a cargo van. You have computer systems to tell you everything. Why not a system to tell the customer the thing you reserved is now unavailable. We’re very sorry. We’re going to make it up to you. PS- it makes a driver nervous to see maintenance warnings on rental vehicles.
