the only thing is that I separated it in a location that was 2 miles from my house and the system. I said I was available and I had to pick up at 9 am when they called me at 8:20 am to tell me that they changed my location to a distance of 25 miles from my house. and that if I didn't arrive at 9 am they would cancel my reservation. For all this I ended up paying more than necessary since I had looked for a nearby location and it was supposedly available. and for that reason I will not use your service again. I understand that they have to work more. with your system why and on top of that fill the tank of the truck. Uhaul overall was a huge disappointment. I booked my uhaul online for pick up close to my house and drop off close to where I'm moving. I arrive at original location for them to tell me I need to go 30 minutes north, wait on hold for 15 minutes to confirm, they tell me it's not scheduled so I'm transferred to someone else who then tells me I have to drive an hour south to pick up what I booked. She was very nice. Then I go to return the uhaul and they tell me I cant return here or will be charged more, even though my receipts confirm drop off there. They finally let me once I showed them a partial return for the two hour drive to get original vehicle. Your online service is crap and needs to be updated and communicated with your stores.Tyler C.

The only issue I had was that I came home from Iraq and tried accessing my unit. The key would not fit into the lock. I tired asking several of your employees what was going on and nobody knew anything. I was told I needed a supervisor to cut the lock. A few days later the supervisor was available. Just so happened to be the same day I hired a locksmith. Supervisor cuts the lock. Turns out my wife entered the unit while I was gone, she locked it in the open position. Someone at U-Haul out a new lock on and didn’t tell anyone about it or made a note in the system. So here I am, wasted 4 days trying to get into my unit and $50 out of pocket (locksmith fee). Other than that, you need more staff. There shouldn’t be a 30-45 min wait to get a vehicle because you have 1 person working the counter.Mario G. | Overall Experience

When we got to the San Pedro site to get some assistance in getting a different truck. They told us they were not able to switch the truck out without Roadside Assistance looking at it first. We called Roadside assistance and We had to wait 3 hours there for them to arrive and after 2 minutes of looking at the truck he told them to give us a new truck. good afternoon, everything related to the U HAUL business is very good, I had rented some other smaller trucks, but this 20-footer, the truth is terrible and with all due respect to your business... you should see it... tell me how is it possible that every hour I had to put 100 dollars of gasoline, that is unheard of I was going to drive almost 19 hours and spent almost 1700 dollars of gasoline from Sant Antonio Texas to Chicago because the truck was giving me 1 gallon of gasoline for every 8 milesRAFAEL S.

Being I am not employed by U Haul â€” it was not my responsibility to go to the yard and find my own truck .. was not given any help on the truck .. didn't have any idea of the lights , or any proper information regarding the function of the truck , very unprofessional. Not informed to take picture had to walk all over the lot .. lacks customer service .. should get a break on costs, if I have to do the employees work as well .. not satisfied ! I sat in the parking lot for several minutes waiting for an employee to come and assist me with returning the equipment. However, once an employee did come to help me, it was very quick and convenient.Phillip A.
I was made to illegally â€œworkâ€ for uhaul at this location! I looked like I just got off a 3 hour mechanic job, AFTER being in a uhaul for 20 hours straight just trying to get to my new home. Very rude, and condescending. The guy told me I had to pay EXTRA for help to unload my truck off the trailer and remove the chains to detach the trailer from the uhaul. I had no idea how to do that because the kind men at the Peoria location did that. I cut my finger while under the trailer as he was telling me to remove the chain from under the truck trailer, but I had no idea where any of that was. After the straps and everything was removed so I could get the truck off the trailer the guy says you can back down now and walks in the store, he didn't assist me in getting off the trailer I just had to hope and pray I was aligned right and my truck just wouldn't go flying off. So after getting my truck off the trailer and the trailer is now STILL attached to the uhaul I waited for a few minutes for someone to come back out but after no one did I assumed I was also â€œon my ownâ€ suppose to remove the chains so we could detach the trailer now, so I tried with no luck, so I had to go back in the store (mind you all this time even while being told I have to pay extra after already paying over 1400 dollars, not one person asked my name to look anything up and review anything) so after going back in, I asked the lady at the counter â€œam I suppose to figure out how to remove these chains because I don't knowâ€ and she says â€œno the guys do all that for youâ€. We'll that's funny because the guy the just left me outside was standing next to her doing nothing. Long story short he finally came back out, and this time asked to see my receipt or paperwork, I was scared to show him, as if he was trying to find out where I live. Needless to say if this location is treating elderly this way, and anyone for that matter they need to be shut down. I am needing a discount on my invoice for working for uhaul and being made to do their jobReneta M.

There were a lot of issues regarding the storage for move. The upside is that the manager went far above and beyond to reach a reasonable solution. he called and called again any and every resource but ultimately he made something happen for us. During this time, he had put his lunch off, and was bouncing between assisting many other big issues with customers. It was only him and another worker. I’ve been using their storage for 2+mths now. And every time I come in, everyone is always so helpful and welcoming and in a content/relaxed/nice mood. If they can’t help, they’ll quickly direct you to who can. They actually messed up my storage unit reservation when I was down-sizing, and they completely took responsibility. I had to return a trailer half way through my trip and upgrade to a moving truck and a car transport because my little Ford ranger was struggling to pull the trailer. Technically, because this wasn't where I was supposed to return it, it was a "wrong location" and I couldn't return it. But couldn't figure out where I could return it. I called 1800gouhaul and got transfered 6+ times. Each employee claimed that they didn't have access to the info I needed. They couldn't make changes and didn't know why the previous person sent me to them. I think each employee should be granted access to everyone's order, be able to see all their info, and make changes. Everything is online these days. I should be able to contact an employee in a random state and they should be able to tell me where I can drop stuff off and make changes to my order. Each time I called to figure out drop off locations there was a 10+ minute wait. Calling 1800gouhaul again, I wanted to change my drop-off location because it wasn't the same as the storage location. The telephone line said that I could change it online. I would have preferred to do it over the phone. But after another 10-15+ min wait, I gave up. When I went online, neither my wife or I could figure out how to do it online. We asked the guys at the storage location if we could just drop it off there? They replied, oh, no. If you do that, we'll have to charge you double. Fruatrated, we just took it to the other location and dropped it off. Storage locations are free for the first month. Unless you don't have a round padlock. Then you charge me 10$?! I already had my own regular padlock with me, ready to go but you said, oh no, they can't be that type of lock. It has to be a round one. When I went to lock it up, my lock fit just as well as yours did. That was a totally unnecessary move on your part. The self storage container had two tears in the roof covered in white duck tape. What if it rains hard? Duck tape won't keep the water out.RAY G. | First Impressions

I came in from out of town and arrived at the Uhaul at 6:45pm, 15 mins before closing. I had called ahead of time and already had a reservation for a storage unit. The employee I believe his name is Matt at 5810 San Pedro, San Antonio, Texas 78212 was fast, helpful, and very thorough. He gave me my paperwork, access gate card and explained everything to me in 15 minutes. I asked him if business was busy,and he said yes, but he was calm and friendly.
