Showed up at 8:55 to be there for 9 AM open. Opening employee doesn't show up and we do not get inside until 9:30. We had to be somewhere by 10 AM to have help loading items into the van. We missed our window due to no one opening the store at the correct time and our help was unavailable, then we had to pay someone to help us. The Uhaul was dirty with trash and smelled of weed. The gas tank was literally empty. When we stopped for gas, it acted like it didnt want to start back up. The transmission was slipping and the brake light came on. There were other newer looking uhauls on the lot but Im not sure why this one is still in circulation.Faith G.

When I picked up the rep was very dismissive. He talked to everyone, except me. When I dropped off, I waited 45 mins, to be told, all I had to do was park the trailer. Owner was working with someone at the counter. Did not even take the time to just say hello or good morning or I'll be with you shortly. Just had to stand there for 15 min. Then walked out with other customer, took about 10 min to come back. Said he told another customer he would meet them at storage. That would have been nice to know. Finally get keys and truck is not even pulled up. We had to go find the truck that was all the way in the back of the row. Owner Johnnie L Jenkins (name monogrammed on doors) needs to do better. This is by far the best location in Columbia. They always have the truck we need and we are always treated very well. I would recommend Johnny, LaMarcus and the rest of the staff any day! Staff pays no attention to detail. First they rented me the wrong trailer under someone else's name and I didn't realize until I was already outside. I let the man at the front know that it was the wrong name on my contract which he then had to reverse and do again. Once I got the trailer home I reserved I noticed that the back tire was completely flat so we had to drive all the way back to the store to get now the 3rd trailer. Once we were finished with the trailer we dropped it off the same night. I didn't receive an email stating the trailer was checked in so I looked online to see for myself and I noticed that they charged me for 2 days! The trailer wasn't even checked in until the next day at 10:58am which was my last straw with this location. I've called the store so many times since then but no one will answer the phone.Same-Kia H.

Selected truck share 24/7 in order to pickup truck early as I paid to have movers be at my house at 9am to start working. I showed up to the location at 7:30 and completed the online check in only to be told that my booking had been changed to hand delivery and I needed to wait until store hours to go in to pickup the truck. The store did not open until nine and no one was available to take a phone call. This was extremely frustrating as the movers were at my apartment at 9, waiting for me to come back with a truck. The time they waited was deducted from the time I had prepaid for so I had less help and was out the money because of uhaul. When I came back to the store at 8:45 to wait for the store to open, an employee came out and said I needed to wait until 9am before he could help since the store wasn't officially open. I understood that and wasn't mad at the employee. However when the store opened at 9am and he began processing my rental, I was told that someone just didn't put out the keys for my truck the night before, the employee didn't know why not, just said it wasn't done. So because someone was careless, my reservation was messed up and moving day was way more stressful than it needed to be. I would not recommend uhaul truckshare as it is advertised as readily available 24/7 and that clearly isn't the case. Really upset I paid so much money and the employees couldn't even take the time to make sure the truck would be available for the appointment time.Joseph V.

Reserved 10x20 climate controlled + an 11x30x12 non climate controlled thru corporate. Our movers got to uhaul and the 11x30x12 was an open air/non enclosed space. Somehow they changed us to FOUR 10x10 spaces (1 of which isnt even 10x10) no where near each other, without letting us know, and caused a ton of chaos & extra expense with our movers (not to mention much higher monthly cost for storage as well). My only complaint as that the truck that I was given had some type of malfunction in the starter, so I was not able to crank the it. The sales associate started it for me at the store, but I was not able to crank it again later that day. A friend who was helping me move had to crank it just so that I could drive back to the store to return it.Christopher G.

The equipment was given to me with the check engine light on. When returning the equipment it took forever to get checked in because your associate was busy talking to a customer about cyber security, hacking, and burn phones. The sent me to the Sparkleberry location and with no prior knowledge of my arrival they more the made up for the noncaring attitude demonstrated at Elwood. My card was charged without my authorization. After that happened I went to my storage and there was still an additional lock on there blocking my access. I went up to the front desk and was told by the person at the desk that it wasn't his job to remove that lock. He called someone and they told him to remove the lock. I didn’t really have any expectations when renting our units here last summer. We moved from Florida last June and had to put most all of our belongings into storage. We just finished taking everything out this weekend after moving into our home. I was extremely impressed with this UHaul and it’s staff. For the whole year they were very friendly every time we went in there. I did have a couple issues with the auto pay on the website, but the staff helped me each time and were so kind about it. Move in experience HOT and TERRIBLE!!!!!!! A male staff at the location gave me wrong information on access time to get in that cost me a lot of time and money ! Staff was friendly but not informative which cause me to never come back after I leave! I will never forget this awful day and will tell others ! Daytime move in hours horrible for out of town or in town working customers! Access hours are not great it’s horrible! I got wrong times to unload my items! I drove hours and could not get any assistance to get in storage because a male staff on duty earlier gave me the wrong time to get in ! I had items loaded up and I could not get in to the building! I called 24 hour customer service and still got nowhere! It was hot and mosquitoes around storage were awful ! No one stated to ask for extended time until after the office hours were closed! 24 hour Customer service should’ve been able to give extended time to customers if they can see you are a customer on computer! My storage had no light but I was ok with this because I didnt need it. Customer service is pretty slow here...not sure if its because they need help or the work environment is too laid back. There were times in the past I've had issues with my storage account and the bank drafts. The floor management/personnel wasnt the most helpful. Store manager issued back some credit for the late fees that should not have been charged due to their systems not working but that's after I asked nor did i get back all of my late fees. My husband and I have rented storage units in the past at many different places as well as states. This is the cleanest facility we have ever been in. Very well lit. Convenient with the moving carts. There was a big moving truck that pulled in minutes in front of us. There was only the one functioning door.
