Unfortunately, we had to drop off our vehicle during heavy rain from a tropical storm. I was having difficulty with Wifi signals on my phone to return the vehicle. The staff working at the drop off location checked the vehicle in for me. She was extremely nice and accomodating!Richard L.

The location and especially the rental agent, LaToya, were outstanding. My issue is with the process - received a call telling me where to pick-up my rental only 15 minutes prior to my reservation time and the location did not have the utility and furniture dollies I had reserved. We were driving from another city and had passed the location on the way to the location I reserved the truck in (close to where I needed it) when the call came in so had to back track. Check in was great. When we returned the trailer no one ever came out like the sign said . We had to go in and even after that she never came out to help or tell use where to put it she just said back it in a spot. The service was excellent and rep was helpful. HE was patient, answered all of my questions and made the changes I needed to my reservation. Only issue was the console with the cup holder was not clean. That is important, especially during COVID.ERRICA C.

When trailer connected I commented it looked to low. I suggested he flip the receiver hitch but he said no it's fine. Aster loading the trailer with less than 800 pounds the tongue guard was less than two inches off the ground. I stopped at two locations who both said nope looks good. Every bump in the 800 mile trip the trailer tongue bottomed out causing it to buck and sway... WORST towing experience ever!MARTIN Y.

I was treated poorly the moment I walked in the door. Made to feel like an idiot because I had not rented a Uhaul in like 20 years. No pads available and the associate offered no solution except to tell me there were no pads available. He looked at me like it was my problem. We arrived after office ours from a move from Alabama and that did not stop them from going out of their way to help make our move less stressful! The U-Haul center in Columbia was wonderful. They were very helpful. My only complaint is that I filled out the Gypsy Moth Survey 6 or 8 times because the website never indicated that it was done. Can that be fixed?Michael C.

Employees were not familiar with the online check in process. I had completed all steps necessary on using the app and still had to wait in line for over 30 minutes before being assisted. Even then, it took another 30 minutes before I actually left the lot with the truck. I like the fact that there is an app that allows for a more streamlined process, but it is of no use if your employees are not familiar with it.William P.

U-haul called me 10 mins before my schedule pick up time to tell me they did not have the truck size I reserved they informed me that I had to pick up a different size truck from a whole different location. Not only that they didn't have the dolly I reserved I had to go to another whole location just for them to tell me they didn't have any. They even charged me for gas even though I had to a go to a U-haul pick up location that was farther from the original location that I had picked. Not only that but when it was time for me to return the U-Haul I had to return the U-Haul to a whole different location from what I picked because the original location was full and had no space to park the U-haul so I called my customer service representative and he directed me to a U-Haul drop off locations that passed by three other locations which shows poor knowledge of U-haul locations and I believe that I should get a full refund.SAVANNAH B.
The rental box truck was clean. However, it need some maintenance work. The "check engine" light was on. Also, I think the truck drafted to the right. It may need an alignment. With the truck having over 100,000 miles, it's not surprising that the truck may need to maintenance work.RICHARD D.

My experience at this location was very very helpful, the gentleman that helped me was Brian and after a 1500 mile trip and being denied drop off in Columbia, Sc Brian took my trailer in about 15 minutes after walking in and I was on my way. My other experience was a logistical nightmare and I really hope uhaul gets their shit together because after driving from Trinidad, Co and getting to Columbia I was told a storage unit would be waiting for me at the Elmwood location, which is also where I could drop off my trailer. Neither of which were true! I asked for a Climate controled, first floor access, 5x10x10 unit and I was told they did not have any available only 10x10x10 which was $50 more a month and I would not get a free month as promised. That suck but to top it all off they were unable to take the trailer even if it was empty! The gentalman working at that location, Thaddeus, was very kind in letting me know all this and I know it's not his fault. He remained professional and was kind even though it didn't work out.Jacob T.

The inside of the cabin was dirty and the steering wheel was sticky. There was residue all inside of the cabin. It appeared to be clean, but it hadn't been wiped out. Not sure if uhaul cleans out their vehicles between customer uses, but there was still ashes in the ashtray as well.Brooke T.

I was told that we only owed 20 something dollars for going over mileage. Went inside to pay..cashier then said we dont owe anything. Left then hours later...$71 was removed from my account. I had to dispute the charges. I picked up the 15 foot truck with a 1/4 tank of gas. I returned it with a 1/4 tank of gas. I was charged $54 in extra fuel charges. I have pictures of the mileage and the fuel gauge before and after the trip as well as the contract with them stating it was at a 1/4 tank. Reference # Reference #3151223. Once these charges are fixed I will change my review.ROBIN B.
The agent Harvey Kinsler said I was good to go without checking the truck and didn't give me a receipt. Then I see $188 is taken out of my checking account. In his report he stated I turned in the truck empty and that I travel a 100 miles. I returned the truck with more than the amount of gas I was given and only moved 2 miles away from I lived. This explains why he didn't give me a receipt so he could later overcharge me. I reserved a dolly when I got there they didn't have one. I had to go to another location. The other location gave me a receipt when no problems. Extremely poor experience. Disappointed.MARILYN P.

We had issues with returning our rental truck and no compensation was giving by this location nor never received a callback or email from corporate.
