I rented a pickup truck with a motorcycle trailer, on a Sunday, 9 a.m. Three stars only, because: The location good: - fast service - keys were ready in no time - the guy wired/hooked the truck and trailer together for me - the equipment was clean Overall experience bad: - The personnel told me that they will be closed then I come back, and pointed where I should return the truck (a marked path, with steps and signs), and asked me to follow the signs, steps, and the mobile app, and I will be good to go. So, I came back late that day where I had to self return. The issue was that paths for self return with signs on what to do, were blocked by other returned vehicles, and it was night and cold. And that the mobile app never worked to "take a picture" and self return stuff (the camera does not open when it asks to click the button take a photo). So I had to stay on the line for one hour (after a 10 hours trip!) waiting for someone to tell me what to do, then took him 20 seconds to tell me "just leave the truck anywhere and drop the keys in the box!". - I got charged on the following day for $18.99, without any text/email/phone on why the extra charge!? When reserving on the phone: - Straps come with the trailer - The truck does 19 miles per gallon So we made a decision, but in reality it turned out: - Straps do not come with the trailer and I had to put extra $40 to buy that - The truck did 13 miles per gallon which made a difference on our long trip This experience made me set my mind, I am getting my own little pick up with a hitch on (or installing a hitch on my car) and that is it. No more counting on others. I had to pay around $400 that day (straps, trailer, truck, insurance, mileage.. etc), when the trailer alone is just $14.99 a day!khalil K.
One thing I would recommend: when you work with customer and in the middle of asking questions don't pick the phone and work with person on the phone and complete their application. Either you answer the phone and ask to hold for a minute or let it go to voice mail.Nahed A.

I liked how the employee took me on a tour to see my unit. He was very professional. Him and the other guy were very professional. I didn’t like the big mouse trap that’s in the unit, but he explained that it has to be there. He explained that the exterminators come out to exterminate throughout the building. The worst people I ever dealt with. Bas attitude for no reason. Especially the girl there, she is mean and stupid. I don't know how uhual give contacts to people like them! They gave me a truck then after I clean the snow and I'm about to leave, the girl came and took the keys, she said we gave you the wrong truck. So I followed her to the office , she handed me a different key (here you go this is your truck) I asked her to pull it please, she said you go get it. Then I asked about the new documents for the new truck, you know it will be different gas reading and mileage, and also she didn't want to do that. Until the guy beside her desk handed me the new contact. Also, without asking me she added insurance, I said I have my own insurance, can you remove it. Also the guy again stepped in and put his initials and asked me to remind him when I bring the truck back. I finally left, an hour later Already back to drop off. She said you are all set, I said may I have a receipt please, she rolled her eyes of course and gave me a receipt with insurance charges. And here she doesn't want to remove this charge or even wants to talk to me. The guy came and printed a new receipt and I said thank you and nobody of course answered me back. I left with a feeling of never going to rent a uhual again. The worst experience ever. So disappointed.Majid H.

Make sure the cashier/ sales associate is knowledgeable. We paid for a day starting at 11:30 but she told us it had to be back by 6pm the same day therefore we rushed to bring it back only to find out it was due back next day same time as pick up. The person who put on the dolly failed to screw the cup all the way down, it was loose and could have unlatched if I had hit a big bump. The tech who received the dolly was totally disturbed by it, he asked if I had unhooked the dolly and I said, no.Davidsonabe O.

I'm irritated, honestly. I made the reservation online, recd a call. The rep said they gave me a better rate cuz they had to change the location as the truck size wasnt available at original location. This am we take a Lyft to get to the Shaefer Rd location at 7 am as we were told its a 24 hr one. It was freezing, raining and we were stuck outside the gate with no covering. I called Uhaul n was told to go to Joy Rd as the other location forgot to leave the keys. I paid for a second Lyft to go to Joy Rd after a good 15 minute wait in the cold/rain...Got the truck and everything was fine at Joy Rd other than I dont think the price was matched from the original phone call, it was a 22 minute drive from the house to Joy Rd (another expense-more gas, more mileage fees, and a third 22 minute Lyft ride). So yes people were nice and polite, but very frustrating way to start and end the day. Id like something to be done to make sure what I was charged is what I was quoted, especially since I ended up having an extra Lyft charge and another longer Lyft charge. I swear I was quoted $29.95 for the truck and less per mile too..Kim M.

I would start by ensuring the trucks rented are in good condition. The truck I rented had some mechanical problens. By the time I left the store and got on the freeway a couple of miles away, all kind of lights started flashing and a constant dinging sound continued all the way home. I couldn't go back because they were closing when I left. We were unable to fulfil the purpose of renting the truck. Then upon my return if the truck, I was charged mileage for driving it home with flashing dashboard, the tow truck driver driving to assess problem, mt husband drove it, at the request of 1 if U-haul employees, to take pictures of the flashing dashboard, and driving it back to store with flashing dashboard. That was a total of 26 mile, we had anticipated driving roughly about 100 miles to do what we needed to do. From the store to my house is a little over 9 miles one way. We rented the truck for 24 hours! How in the world do I drive 26 miles in 24 hours including the driving that was actually done!! Even when I arrived, I asked the associate if he wanted to see the lights flashing and constant dinging of the brake lights. I left the truck running, he said, no, shut it off!!Lasaundra B.

Shocks in uhaul were bad, brakes were loud. First two uhaul reservations were cancelled. I had to drive outside of a 10 mile radius to pick up avaliable truck, then had to pay milage. Reserved a furniture and appliance dolly, neither were in the truck. The employee went to get one out of the cage, I could see an appliance dolly, but the employee wouldn't rent it to me. Supposedly it had been stolen and he hadn't taken it back to where it needed to be for three weeks.. There was insects (roaches) in the back of the truck so I had to buy and spray raid before I could load my stuff. In a pinch I was able to get my stuff moved, but I feel ripped off.DOREEN LORAINE M.

First, let me say I don't have enough space to say how beautiful my experience was with this store. My time with them spanned over five years, through some tough times. They were always very courteous and compassionate to me. The building was always clean, and neat. In a time when my life was dark, they were light and that's no exaggeration.
