My drop off was very simple. The drop off location to park the truck was easy to find, there was a sign right when I pulled in. The employee I spoke with was very helpful and answered my questions. I received a confirmation email with the receipt and it was all accurate.

I would start by ensuring the trucks rented are in good condition. The truck I rented had some mechanical problens. By the time I left the store and got on the freeway a couple of miles away, all kind of lights started flashing and a constant dinging sound continued all the way home. I couldn't go back because they were closing when I left. We were unable to fulfil the purpose of renting the truck. Then upon my return if the truck, I was charged mileage for driving it home with flashing dashboard, the tow truck driver driving to assess problem, mt husband drove it, at the request of 1 if U-haul employees, to take pictures of the flashing dashboard, and driving it back to store with flashing dashboard. That was a total of 26 mile, we had anticipated driving roughly about 100 miles to do what we needed to do. From the store to my house is a little over 9 miles one way. We rented the truck for 24 hours! How in the world do I drive 26 miles in 24 hours including the driving that was actually done!! Even when I arrived, I asked the associate if he wanted to see the lights flashing and constant dinging of the brake lights. I left the truck running, he said, no, shut it off!!

Make sure the wheels on a dollies are maintained. The one we had, had ball and cracked wheels. We had a very scary moment moving the refrigerator down the stairs.

Shocks in uhaul were bad, brakes were loud. First two uhaul reservations were cancelled. I had to drive outside of a 10 mile radius to pick up avaliable truck, then had to pay milage. Reserved a furniture and appliance dolly, neither were in the truck. The employee went to get one out of the cage, I could see an appliance dolly, but the employee wouldn't rent it to me. Supposedly it had been stolen and he hadn't taken it back to where it needed to be for three weeks.. There was insects (roaches) in the back of the truck so I had to buy and spray raid before I could load my stuff. In a pinch I was able to get my stuff moved, but I feel ripped off.

Kept a pick up 2 hours, rate was suppose to be 32 dollars. Only went 25 to 35 miles if that, and ending up being charged 58 bucks. I also put 10 dollars back in the tank.

I have rental several trucks from Uhaul over the years, and this is the first time that I did not receive a truck with a full tank of gas. I was instructed to return it with a full tank of gas and when I told the check out person that the tank was half full when I received the truck, he kept telling me that we do not refund for gas. This is totally unacceptable, since I was told to return it was a full tank of gas, he did not tell me to return it with a half of tank of gas. I look at my paper work and there is no where that it states that they do not refund for gas. BUT if this is a true statement then they should have offered a store coupon for 20 dollars or something. Also I rented the truck for 6 hours, I could not check out the vehicle until after the time that I requested it. So 20 minutes into my rental time was when I received the vehicle, I had movers scheduled that I paid for which then cut into their time. If I rented something for 12 noon I should receive it at 12 noon and not at 12:20.

Make the next person feel welcome. When a customer comes into the business have the common courtesy to speak back when the customer speaks and say good morning, good afternoon or evening when picking up a truck or supplies of any kind.. It doesn't cost nothing to be polite and manners?

My original preferred choice location was a mile from my home. I was told the day before my move that the truck I reserved was not available. I was called by a U-Haul representative and told to go to another location in the morning. They didn't have any trucks. This location called U-Haul on my behalf and I was told two other locations, neither location had any vehicles. By this time I was two hours behind schedule due to driving to multiple locations. I then called the U-Haul location at Southfield and Joy. The manager Craig told me that he had a truck available. I almost cried. His team member reserved the truck for me and his team was very nice, helpful and respectful. They saved me and I am so grateful.
