My reservation bounced/switched between three different uhaul locations, which was a nuisance. The Union Avenue location, where I finally picked up the truck, wasn't as clean and organized as others I've seen (but the truck was very clean). On the good side, it didn't take long to get my truck and be on my way.Brent C.
Son went inside and checked in, got receipt, 3 girls said someone would come out to help us. No one came, he went back in and asked, heard 1 girl say I can't do it then wanted us to take the trailer to another site. I went in and asked for help, she said someone would come out, nobody came. I backed the trailer into empty space and son unhitched. I went back in and told them we dropped it in a space and heard one yell thanks. If this was typical customer service I would never rent from UHaul again but I know it's not. This was a disgrace typical of people who don't care about the company they work for, rude and crude.Steve H.

Crystal, the manager, is competent. It's unfortunate that one of her employees would rather tell me to call "1-800-Uhaul" than to lift a finger to check for a rat dolly for me. This lady demonstrated both inappropriate behavior and pour performance to this customer. A crash course in charm school would do her wonders.James W.

I interacted with 2 people at different times on the same day. When I picked up the truck, the lady working there told me she had no furniture pads, no moving dolly, no two-wheeler, all of which I had reserved. She was discourteous and couldn't really care less. When I said I had reserved them, she said it didn't matter if people came in before me and wanted to buy/rent them. I had to ask her to call around other locations for the furniture pads, then I had to add an hour to my moving day, driving to another location to get them. The young woman working there when I picked up the auto transport trailer was unhelpful, and in fact, uncommunicative. I honestly think she was stoned... yes, literally high on pot. The entire inside of the U-Haul location smelled like pot. I had to ask her each question 2-3 times and her only response was to call someone on her cell phone and talk for a few minutes before answering my questions. She wouldn't even look up at me. The person who was supposed to be there to connect the trailer to my truck wasn't there. I had to wait about 45 minutes for him to show up. NEVER AGAIN will I use the U-Haul location at 370 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN. While I was waiting on the trailer guy someone in line behind me told me they thought this was the worst U-Haul location ever. I 100% agree.Mark L.

The Rep yelled at me telling me i couldn't park the truck where i did. When i dropped it off there was no inspection, no receipt given. Only that i would get something in the email. They didn't even check to see if the dolly was in the back. Left me open to amot of porential liability.John D.

Shortly after I pulled into the return location, I observed a U-Haul employee and a customer arguing (shouting) at each other. The customer seemed very angry, and was verbally insulting the U-Haul employee. The U-Haul employee was returning insults and demanding that the customer leave immediately and not come back. After a couple of minutes, a male U-Haul employee approached the customer and pulled out a handgun (halfway) from a shoulder bag, and was making comments (I'm assuming he was telling the customer to leave the property). After a couple more verbal exchanges, the customer left. This is absolutely unacceptable. U-Haul employees should not be permitted to carry firearms. If there is an issue, the police should be contacted and employees should not continue to argue with a customer. I did not feel safe at the return location (Memphis, TN - Union Ave). This could have easily escalated into a life-threatening situation, and from my perspective it was 100% preventable (with professionalism and equanimity).George S.

I arrived at 10:00am my reservation was for 9:30am, She didn't even look at the computer and told me my reservation was cancelled because I wasn't there at 9:30am but yet I rented the equipment for 24 hours, I had to call customer service which they got the rental corrected, Union Ave Uhaul has very poor customer service.Shelton W.

I love Uhaul. If you look at my records you can see that. I always use you guys and have always had good experiences until this one. I received the truck at the Memphis location and told the workers there quickly that the ac wasn't working after doing my inspection. They called a guy to the truck and he revved the gas a little (please check your cameras for proof) and played around with it a little and it turned on but it didn't stay on when I left the facility. I had to drive across country to Texas with my 6 year old child in the heat. It came on occasionally for about 3-5 mins maybe 2 times. I made your team aware of my issue once I returned the truck at the drop off location and they advised me to use the 1800 #. I did and the guy was rude and said I should've called roadside. I never thought to call roadside because I thought it's only for tire changing and things of that nature. He said a manager would call and she did. She returned $150. Her voicemail is what really makes me angry. She was calling me a liar basically without saying it. She told me they are returning $150 and it's weird because no one has had a problem with that particular truck. I have no control over that. I had a problem with the truck and the ac was not working. This is the worst experience I've had with a uhaul company and would not recommend anyone use this location.Jalissa R.

At drop off and pickup the employees were lazy. At drop off I asked the receptionist to place the uhaul on my name and take it out my daughters name and she refused to do it stating it's to much paperwork. Then at drop off the guy refused to do me a paper receipt stating he had to calculate everything thing I told him I'll wait especially since no one was there and got extremely upset saying It'll take him 25 minutesDextiny K.

When I first arrived to the location manager guy had an attitude problem we made it perfectly clear there were Zero Tolerance today for the police if any customer gives them problem when I went outside to ask for help where the truck is he act like he didn't want to help me find the truck was dirty in the cab I rent trucks every other month from U-Haul this was the worst service everMack M.

Location rented the trailer to someone else. I showed up at 8am, they opened at 9:30 am, and then they were late on top of that! So I was there at 8:00, 9:30, 1 P.M. and ant hen again at 2 P.m after they returned from lunch, only to discover the trailer had been rented! I had to go an additional 20 miles to get a different trailer, larger than I needed by 70%. Nothing that occurred on this Friday concerning UHAUL went well, and wasted hours of very limited time I had in Memphis. The entire event was a S__* Show. Never again.james G.

The truck was mostly clean and well maintained overall, but the ramp was broken and it took 3 of us with one person under the truck to pull it out for use. Let them know that the small uhaul dont come with ramp. Answer the phone and not tell a customer im notngone pick up. Absolutely horrible experience. I had placed a reservation a week prior to pick up a 26 foot truck at a specific location. Called the day before as uhaul requested and the designated location gave my truck to another customer and I had to use additional mileage to go to another location which was not close and deal with extremely rude people to rent the same type truck I reserved . Very stressful . And to top it off the truck leaked water like a waterfall during a sudden thunderstorm drenching all of my things and ruining them. There was 3 inches of water standing in the truck . All of the movers were in total shock . Everything got soaked . This was the worst moving experience of our lives and we have had many over the years . Nightmare!Steven W.

The rear door will not close after we loaded all our stuff.It wasted hours of our time. Help line will not answer the phone. When we returned the truck, the staff did not even say anything when we said the door would not close. Worse service!!!!VISWANATH C.
1) I was overcharged on Rental. When I made the reservation it showed a charge of about $45. But when I went to pickup the truck it started to show a charge of about $116 2) I drove the truck 9 miles. Before dropping off the truck I pumped in gas and made sure the gauge was back at where it was when I picked up. I have pictures of that showing that gauge was returned to its original position. But uhaul charged me extra saying that I did not have gauge back at its original position I have opened up a case to get refund for the two things mentioned above.Omar J.

The air conditioning at the Union Avenue was not working during a HEAT Warning âš ï¸ Only one manager was working and she hooked the trailer up incorrectly with the chain dragging. The two dollies not the pad I ordered were provided and THE TRUCK still had a lock on it !!!! I had to purchase both a dollie and bolt cutter to use the equipment. This location should be closed until corrections are made there !!!Daniel S.

They changed me for 2 storage when I want to other u haul and they told me that they will give me one price once but a storage if I need more room. Wen i made it to my drop off location the managers insisted I could not the discount offered to me. After 30 minutes I received the discount. Next, I was told at my drop off location I had until 7 pm to finish unloading to turn in my rental equipment. i was done near 6 and the office was still open. As I was standing behind a customer I pulled out of line and told I was not to expect a refund in cash although I paid in cash.i was asked for a receipt but had not checked the Renta equipment in yet. I received the run around. After I stated how I really wanted my money I left the office when I tried to come back in I was treated in a hostile manner while being stopped at the door. The Uhaul company on Union Avenue. The GM Crystal called was very unresponsive.I was stereotyped.i was told I couldn't enter the store due to me being upset with the service.i asked to return the key to my truckand was told I couldn't receive a invoice a piece of paper that shows at least I did return the equipment. I couldn't get any respect unless I was the white man in front of me who's received sympathy for his car being stolen although I had just traveled over 300 miles with two little kids and little no help unloading or loading my home. This is false advertising by uhaul and complete discrimination by the assistant manager who the GM Mom when she called to get authorization to go forward with my first month of free storage. For the price that it cost me to store my items in the storage it wasn't really well kept. I had over $500 in damaged items. There was nice that got into the unit and ate threw my brand new mattresses and urinated on them. They ate kids clothes toys electronics and even toiletries like powder and soaps. I didn't think that having everything packaged in plastics and boxed down would still cause so much damage. I had this unit from July 2019 to Jun 2021 and the price went up and the maintenance went down. This was an awful experience and u-haul must do better. I still have went through everything as of yet but I know there may be more damaged items bsce some boxes are covered in rat feces and urine.
