First of all when I walk up to the desk for help for picking up my rental, one guy is on the phone and the other two guys are chitchatting with each other and don't bother to say hello or ask how they can help me and wait until I ask for help then act like I interrupted their conversation! No I am not kidding or exaggerating! Ridiculous! I took a picture of the odometer when I picked up and dropped off the truck. Beginning mileage was 97341.4 at 110pm not 97335.4 as receipt shows. Im not sure why that is wrong or how but evidently your people aren't reporting correct mileage for pick up which is costing me more money. I took a picture of the equipment contract at 1250 while getting the boxes and supplies together so pick up time is obviously wrong at 1246 pm which must be approximate because I was still inside getting supplies but mileage is not approximate. I dropped off the vehicle today at 8am and went in and hand delivered keys to the guys at check in desk at 8am not 921am so return time is wrong by over an hour as well. That could be a problem if I had not returned it so early with time to spare. That must be how people get penalized for late delivery if they return close to the time its due back instead of so early. Also equipment/truck not working as the defrost heater a/c wasn't working so not able to use defrost in the morning when frost is on windshield. I would expect these things should be simple to correct.Chris D.

We tried to hook up the first Dolly and the lights were not working, the attendant hooked up the second dolly and sent me on my way. The next morning before th sun came up I have to hit the road and head south, with no running lights. I had to run until sunrise and again after sunset with my hazard lights flashing.Stephen S.

Follow through on initial appointments. Dont charge customers for services and late fees that don't apply. Have decent customer service. Don't tell customers three different â€˜stories' about lack of follow through. This was the worst uhaul experience I've ever had. Will think twice next time about using uhaul and will 100% deter friends and family from all uhaul services. I made an appointment over the phone and my appointment for hitch and 4/7 way receiver to be installed. Dropped my car off - staff was very pleasent. Received a call that the staff there could not install the receiver I had requested (on my paperwork.) Was appreciated of the honesty but had to make a second appointment that was just as long as my first apointment. Staff again was very helpful and gave me a discount for my inconvience. This group of people in this store have the communication level of a NAT and they are bullies. My daughter reserved a box to be left on the premise while she was between moves at the local college. She specifically requested the container be left outside for the first 4 days during the crucial days of her move, as she needed to access it everyday. The guys behind the desk took advantage of this young 20 year old woman and disregarded the requests to leave the box outside. I'm sure these guys looked at her and weren't going to take any direction or requests she asked. I returned with her on the day we needed to collect the items and get them in her new apartment and wouldn't you know it they moved the container indoors which we specifically requested not to. Then to top it off they couldn't find it. They then told me needed to give them a 24 hour notice. I told them that my daughter requested the box to be left outside for a specific reason. These apartments on campus give you a 3 hour window to move in. The guys says, it's going to be a couple hours to get it outside. I then reminded him I only have 2 hour at point to move her into the new apartment. He then disappeared in back for 15 minutes and came out and mumbled it will be out soon. I said what's your definition of soon? Then he go all pissed off and said an hour or so, go find something to do until we can get to it. Again, I firmly believe if I was there instead of my daughter this would have never happened and the box would have been left outside like requested. Bravo to you and your staff for screwing over and taking advantage of my daughter. You have now lost a customer for life in me and more importantly my daughter who I can only assume will have future moves in her lifetime. I am horribly disappointed in UHaul and its customer service. I was mis-charged for an extra day on my rental, even though it was in my contract that I would be returning the cargo van after hours and dropping the key in the key box. I had to wait 39 minutes on hold in order to talk to a customer service agent who told me that I would be given a partial refund (this was while I was concurrently online with the chat option on UHaul, which was no faster). Later I checked my credit card account, and instead of the partial refund I was charged AGAIN for an additional fee. Now I'm back to waiting on hold again for 35-40 minutes to try to get this resolved. Over the course of 2 days I have been charged the following amounts to my credit card: $106.03, $1.00, $142.23, and $69.64. I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed that this has been such a horrible experience and that your company is so understaffed and mismanaged.Ricki M.
We were told we'd have a ramp. We didn't. The back right reverse light didn't work, and the engine light was on. I shared this with the man that rented it to me, but it was rented to me anyway with the explanation that it was in the report. I'm pretty sure you can't rent a truck with safety issues, right? This was a one-way rental and unfortunately the second day of travel it rained all day. There was a leak in the cab of the truck where the seat belt anchored at the top of the side wall on the passenger side, so the passenger got wet during travel. We had to rig up a towel to catch the water. Not sure anyone would be aware of this had it not been raining when we had the truck.Monica C.

The app for self-check-in and check-out requires time-stamp photos of the vehicle. You have to bounce back and forth between the app and the camera setting on your phone. You can not just take the pictures and upload them, then add them when asked. The app will refuse the photos. You have to answer the question, take the photo, then get back into the app and upload it. Workable, but irritating. And I would not want to be picking up or returning on the 24/7 app if there was questionable cell service in the area.Beth C.

Overall an excellent experience. My only minor quibble is the definition of climate controlled. I think a temperature range of 40F-80F in the climate controlled area is a bit wide, but other than that things were great. Staff were very helpful and made the move in and move out process easy and were stellar in getting me from an upstairs unit to a ground level one. if it wasn't for the fact that I'm moving out of state I would still be renting a storage space.David W. | Overall Experience

The unit I rented, it’s roll-up door would come out of the track when I opened the door. The door wouldn’t open up all the way so I had to duck under each time going in or out of the unit. When I would finally get it closed, after fighting with it to shut the left side would be out of the track and open enough to get access to my stuff. I just got my belongings out and moved them somewhere else as soon as I could. The facility was clean and well lit and a staff member did help me with the door the first time. Our only concern was the lack of an elevator or lift for people with mobility limitations and can’t use stairs. Anne the general manager of the UHaul location that day, was truly great and made what was turning into a bad moving day, into a good experience (if you can call moving and storing things fun). She took time to help me find a different locker that was more convenient and what we needed, she was extremely helpful, pleasant and courteous despite what seemed like being understaffed, extremely busy and it was over 90 degrees outside. The move in experience itself was poor. The directions for finding the unit should have included a letter identifying the row in which the unit could be found. The map should contain the same alphabetical row lettering as in the storage building itself. I spent a massive amount of time trying to find the unit. The unit was secured against entry, I could not open it, no one answered the phone when I called the desk, I wandered around until I found a call box, someone came and opened the unit, the provided lock did not work, I had to go to the desk to exchange the lock, the swipe access card did not work properly, and I had to return to the desk to address that. In the future, take the customer to the unit rented, make sure the unit opens, and make sure the provided lock works. Everyone was helpful, but more up-front assistance should have been provided.
