When calling the store I was on hold for over 20 minutes and when someone actually answered, it was not someone in the store itself but a U-Haul answering service type thing. I needed to talk to someone directly at that specific store for a specific question. The person I spoke with made me wonder if they really knew the answer to my question. Everything did work out, but I'm not sure why the phone doesn't get answered at the location being contacted. This is not the first time this has happened.

All around poor experience , declined insurance they charged me 10 bucks for it anyways , when I went to pick up the guaranteed rental I booked online he said he didn't have the truck I said well the website said you owe me 50 bucks as it was supposed to be a guarantee and not only that I could see the pickup truck outside and he tried to offer me a a moving truck instead. He changed his tune after I brought up the 50 dollar guarantee and guess what? The truck was magically available after I said that. They gave me the “managers number “ guess what ? Went to the general line and hold time was 10 minutes plus. Junk experience and you should be ashamed to do this to a customer.

Act like you care about the customer. Both employees acted like they didn't want to be there and as if we were annoying them by asking them questions or voicing concerns. The truck was dead when we tried to start it and the employee was less than thrilled to help us out. Very dirty truck as well.

I was supposed to have a 26 ft truck and they called me and said that it broke down. I said well I have a lot of stuff to move and my time is limited. He gave me a smaller truck and gave me more time at no additional cost, which was accommodating. I get in the truck and the floor was nasty, and they left an appliance dolly in the back of the truck which I didn't order. When I returned the truck the rep was so unprofessional and didn't care that the truck wasn't cleaned and didnt care about my concerns with covid.

When I originally reserved the truck online it for the 20' truck for 8 hrs. My time was changed to 5 hrs without my knowledge and then the truck size was changed to 15' by that location at the last minute and again the time was changed. The truck size being smaller than expected ruined my whole moving day plan, making us late for everything including the drop-off time. To say the least, I was not at all happy with the situation and to top it all off not all the employees were wearing face masks like they were supposed to. Not a happy customer.

The only thing I would say is don't let someone who is not trained fully work by themselves because that's how he rented me a storage unit that was already rented out! They did go good for it and reimbursed my money and gave me first months rent free on the two that were available. Other than that, my experience was great.

The truck I got was very beat up, and I felt as though it was going to break down at any moment... Although clean, I would worry about getting stranded in it for a further move than just in town. Overall great experience with the rental and ease.

I rented six pads for packing furniture, when I got home I discovered that I did not have them. I had to drive all the way back (30 miles round trip) to get them. That was disappointing and time consuming.

Worst experience ever. The equipment was downright dangerous and the hitch they installed failed within 200 miles resulting in me having to find a place to get it fixed and me paying for it.

I booked a month in advance, called the day before to ensure the reservation was set. The local manager called me at 5pm the night before my 7am pickup and told me they wouldn't be able to accommodate my reservation. My move was already scheduled with movers in a different state and I was required to be out by that day. I called numerous other carriers to try to get another reservation somewhere else but they were closed due to the time. After several calls back/forth with the uhaul Augusta Maine location they were finally able to locate a truck. They then asked i return it sooner then I had planned. Unfortunately I could not compile to this request as the location I was moving out of was a 3 hour drive away. I do not blame one sole individual for this situation but believe this is very poor business model. I am extremely disappointed and very much doubt I will be using UHaul again. It made my move way more stressful then It should have been.

Every time I rent a trailer with a ratchet strap I need to lube the ratchet so it moves freely. So it would be nice if they were sprayed with a dry lube like Silicone spray once in a while. Tail light wiring was hanging 3 inches from road, although all the lights did work. I know no trailer or other equipment would leave my place without these simple measures taking.

Was told that original unit I reserved online was not available. Very unclean storage unit (we swept a lot of dirt, two construction nails). Large pole in middle of storage unit. After-hours contact didn't answer when we called, or return my call. Overall a very disappointing experience and I don't plan to return.

Only one associate was working so I waited in line for 25 minutes at 9:30am on a Saturday. First truck had lots of ashes in ash tray, smelled quite bad, so returned to 25-minute line to request new truck. Then had to return again because a new check-in link wasn't sent to me. New truck wasn't cleaned properly, but we decided to accept it because it was a bit better. Rated two stars because the one associate had a positive attitude and was trying his best to keep up with things.

I reserved a 26' Foot Truck and was contacted on the morning of the 8:00 am pick up and was advised that the 26' truck was not available, a customer had not returned it and contact could not be made. I was told a second truck was due back at 10:00. I made contact shortly after 10:00 and was told that the truck was not returned yet. I ended up with a 20" truck, I was offered a trailer to go with the truck and declined.

The unit I reserved was an 8x10. Reservation on the books for two months. Upon arrival the unit is about a 6x8 if that and no other units available. Not to mention the astronomical price. I went elsewhere and got a 10x25 for the same price. Extremely unhappy.

My unit was supposed to be an 8x10 and it's just barely 6 feet wide. Now I have a uhaul I have to empty and no where to put my shit on top of the numerous either issues we had. I'll more than likely not be a returning customer. Extremely dissatisfied

This was a shipment to my daughter, who is not much of a people person, but could not say enough about how nice the deliver driver was. The driver text me an hour before she was going to deliver and my daughter asked for her number to call her after the drop to say Thank you. :) We have now used U-Box a few times and the Augusta store people are so friendly and wonderful and we will surely be suing them again.

I was quoted $29 for a 4x4 storage locker. When I got there it is $59/month and I have to climb rickets stairs. Its a complete hazard and completely unsafe. I will be moving out asap! Horrible

Heather Poore is OUTSTANDING! First, she took my initial phone call, answered all my questions and made me feel comforted in having to handle a last-minute, unplanned move of my college student due to coronavirus. Then when I arrived from NJ the next day, her smiling face met me and she again calmly explained everything and got me set up. This is my first time renting storage; she was patient, helpful and didn't rush me. Then I made three trips to the facility in the next 24 hours. I was impressed with the cleanliness, the access to carts, the security, etc. I can't say enough about how Heather went above and beyond and how all the little things she did added up to reducing my stress in a time when I greatly appreciated it. Also, thanks for the one-month free for displaced college students. I thought that was a very classy and empathetic move by UHaul. You earned my business and Heather is the reason you'll keep my business.

Overpriced storage units (roughly $135.00 more than competitors). Pad locks are required, but not provided. Often understaffed. & They input a character limit to decrease quantity of criticism.
