The people there we're Clueless, didn't know how to hook up the auto transport. It took them eight hours with our pact truck with my animals in it to get the tire change to try to hook up the auto transport. On the road at a gas station all of the cool and flew out of the truck. We had to get people help us. It was very costly on a personal level, it took three days because of the equipment breakdown. The woman that manages the st. Louis location got mad and hung up on me when I told her what happened. She tried to blame it all on us. She wasn't even at the store. She left two well meaning the totally incompetent people at the store to try to get the move-in process. All in all we finally made it and it was like coming out of a nightmare.Dawn D.

I had two storage units, one standard and one climate controlled. They both served me well but, if I ever need to rent another, I would rent the climate controlled option for most possessions. Having the extra protection from moisture and extreme temperatures is comforting. Recently, Christina helped me with truck rentals as well as closing out my spaces. She was knowledgeable, patient and fun to work with. I like the location of this facility. Nestled on The Hill, it feels safe yet conveniently placed at S. 1. Employee was not wearing a mask, which is a violation of the current local law (masks are required for everyone inside at businesses) as well as signs posted at the business itself, stating that masks are required. The mask mandate was not enforced for that employee or for customers - half were wearing masks, half were not. I feared that if I spoke up I would be denied the rental. 2. Although this same employee was friendly, he took 40 minutes to check me in, face to face, despite my having created the complete reservation online ahead of time and requested mobile check in. I was not able to begin using the vehicle until 40 minutes past the rental start time. Since I'd reserved it for just 2 hours, this meant I had the vehicle for just over an hour and a half. 3. The same employee did not practice 6-foot distancing requirements. 4. When making the reservation online I was required to create a password. When trying to log in from my phone it claimed it was the wrong password. When I tried multiple times to request a password reset, no code was ever sent to me, even though I entered the correct email and phone. No one at the 800# answered when I called to resolve this.ELODIE A.

The hand truck (dolly) that we ended up with was mostly broken. The wheels barely moved and the belts on the treads were broken. They kept falling off the track. Moving is a stressful experience before you have to deal with equipment that cost $20 for 5 hours that is broken.John N.

I had a terrible 24 hours prior to arriving, driving in from across the country only to find out the house I thought I was moving into wasn’t at all what I expected and I could not move in. The gentleman behind the counter was so friendly and helpful, he even came out to make sure everything was going ok with the unloading. It was pretty dusty in the back of the truck, and there was a random shovel that someone had left in there. The dolly wasn't secured, so we started driving and it was clanging around in the back. Other than that, no complaints, and it was nice to do mobile pickup and drop-off.Noelle J.
Had trouble with using the online tool when picking up and dropping off. It was a frustrating experience. When picking up the uhaul, I entered my drivers license and it wouldn't accept it. Had to use my wife's license to get it to work. Then, they needed an alternate contact and my wife wasn't "reachable" they said. We weren't sure what that meant but it was frustrating. Then, when dropping the truck off, we weren't able to select a credit card in the menu. Had to turn the phone to landscape mode in order to get the dropdown menu to work.Addison E.

Friendly staff but when I went to my unit it was occupied by someone repairing their truck. I had to wait to get in. This same person has 2 cars parked illegally in front of his unit which partially block the alley between the buildings. Later when I moved in, this person had numerous “sketchy” people coming and going from his cars and storage units as apparently he is running a business there (dealing drugs?) or actually lives at the storage facility. There was another running car parked nearby with people coming and going from his unit also. Have all these people been given the gate code? They all watched me loading some expensive items into my unit and I am stressed about them breaking in. This situation is not secure and I regret using your facility. He and his crew should be evicted as his business is not worth the security risk. I will be glad when I can get my stuff out of there. I took advantage of moving help you promoted in your site. This was nothing but hassle ; and I will never utilize them ever again. Once required info is posted, and fee has been charged to personal account; everything else is pretty much a crapshoot. Movers don't answer their phones when follow up call is made, or if lucky enough to get a confirmation, they may not show up. You pay this fee; and then they dont show up for work. Who has that kind of $ where you must keep searching for a mover who'll at least show up! The outfit I got, I feel, took advantage of me. They didn't get in a hurry about anything. Not all of my big items were moved to new the new apt. 3 people- 3hrs. and here to work! ! No excuse why 2 strong men couldn't have fnished loading what few pieces of furniture I own in that amt of time!!!Barbara C.

i had to call multiple times and have changes made that should have been done from my initial call when making reservation...Also moving location further away from where pick up was supposed to be made it more difficult and overall just a poor experience and since i cannot see my final bill but adding service charge to mileage due to UHAUL moving pick up spot is really crazy and i would not recommend to others and hopefully you all can learn from this txt that multiple calls and followup's to make sure this trip happened for my Daughter helping my Son who has cancer move is just unacceptable...thanks for listening if you read this at all? The van I rented was supposed to be $20, a competitive price with renting from a hardware store like Home Depot. By the time the charges are all added, plus tax, the price more than doubled. *Yes, I forgot to top off the tank, but that only added $5 to the $42 charge! Everyone was nice- I have no complaint with customer service in anyway- but I will not be renting from U-Haul in the future because of the misleading price quote.Paula L.

The truck was easily accessible, clean and in good working condition. I chose to try to complete the rental process online, but experienced some difficulties during check in. Ms. Cathy and her staff are spectacular, caring and understanding! I would highly recommend using this Uhaul facility to rent a truck and the moving supplies as well as using this facility as a storage unit. I will only use this location for any future Uhaul truck rental, moving supplies and storage needs. I was not paid to give this good review or to leave that's comments. We looked at many before picking the Engle’s facility 15 years ago because of how well maintained it was. Being a family run facility it has always showed pride in being neat and clean. I elected to pick up my van through the mobile site so I would not have to enter the office building out of precaution for safety amidst the health pandemic. The staff failed to have my designated van parked in the area noted on the mobile app and so instead I was required to go through the manual, in-person process and spend about 15 minutes waiting for the employee to cancel all the steps I had done remotely to re-do them herself as I stood there. Awful. The mobile option is not just a mere convenience for many, but an actual safety measure taken by some. To not fully support the success of the mobile option negates the benefits of offering the mobile option.denis T.

This isn't fair to the location you're asking me to review, but the 1 star is for the mobile app experience. Absolute nightmare. I could go on and on, but I won't bother. You wasted a full hour of my time with that app (locking me out of completing the required information until location services recognize that I'm at the location, which WAS THE WRONG LOCATION ANYWAY), and I'm seriously considering never using uhaul for anything again after that horrible experience.Sam S.
I reserved a van online and did the electronic pick up... Very easy. I went in to the store to pick up the appliance dolly I reserved and the man working checked everywhere but couldn't locate one. The young lady took over and offered a regular dolly and to remove the appliance dolly charge. Excellent service, very friendly and helpful team, well maintained equipment. I will be back. I had two separate encounters with different team members upon pickup and drop off. I have to say that both of the women during my pick up and the gentleman during my drop off are fantastic employees and I would hire them for any customer service role on the spot. The â€œappâ€ was super frustrating. I was unable to pick up the truck without assistance at the office because the app indicated that needed to turn on location settings, which I did. At the end of the day, the location seemed to work fine, but because it was raining and I was tired, getting all the required pictures proved difficult. What was so frustrating with the app is if you mess up at all, including accidentally shutting down your phone screen, the â€œappâ€ shut down and I had to start from the beginning. It took me 3 times to go through the process. It was horrible, I was tired, and it was raining. Fix your app and at least make it not require a restart if your phone screen shuts off or you accidentally close the app. Also, once you upload pics, they were lost when the app shut down. I had to retake the pics each time, IN THE RAIN!!! I should not have to put my $1000 phone at risk to drop off your truck.TAUNYA D.
