No chance I would ever recommend uhaul again. In the last year, we've moved 4 times, used uhaul each time and had relatively the same experience each time. We were unable to get the size truck we scheduled months in advance, we weren't made aware our trucks unavailability until moments before we were supposed to pick it up and we ended up having to drive to multiple locations before we received a truck. This most recent experience, we checked all necessary information before going to sleep the night before and everything was in order. When we woke up, the pick up time AND location had both changed and we were notified of neither. Finally we were able to get another truck and when we arrived we were told we wouldn't be able to use either of the 26' trucks they had, after waiting for 15 minutes and effectively being late to our appointment, while 5 guys - who we were paying - waited for us. Now on to the final location where we were able to rent a truck, an hour later, we left with our rental. It was not the size that we had scheduled (over a month in advance) and because of that we had to make multiple trips to fit all of our belongings Wasting time and fuel. So in the end and much like all of our past experiences with uhaul, we were given less than we asked for, spent much more money than we anticipated and wasted valuable hours compensating for uhauls utter incompetence. I will say, however, that the gentleman who helped us at the final location was very professional and quite possibly the only competent individual we've encountered in the company.RICKY S.

We had a pretty rough experience with our uhaul rental that was not this locations fault. Our rental started in Eminence Ky. They call day before and say they don't have it that we have to go to Buckner Ky to pick up. We do the 24/7 service there and they leave the appliance dolly out. We then get sent to Collins Lane Louisville to start whole process over. We pull off with the rental and a few miles down the road the drivers side mirror is loose and won't hold position so I had to drive with my hand out the window to hold it in place. Finally took a boot string out and rigged it up for the 2 hour trip. I tightened the Allen screw on the mirror once I got to destination. Uhaul 24/7 does not work. I will never go that way ever again.Buddy J.

This criticism is not for the Collins Ln location. This criticism is for the person who made the reservation for me. I called the number of a different location and was automatically transferred to a â€œcentral officeâ€ operator. When I made my reservation, I was expecting to pick up the vehicle from the location I called. When I got there, I discovered it was closed until 9:30, even though the published opening time was 7:00. I called the number back and was told I was picking up at Collins Ln. This is a rather big deal since I was pressed for time. I kinda feel like if I were reserving a vehicle for someone, I'd tell them where to pick it up! The guy at the Collins Ln. The Bardstown Road location is a horrible representation of your company. I showed up and despite making a reservation there was no van and they did not offer to find another, simply telling â€œsorryâ€. After I begged them to, they got on the phone and found a van, 20 miles away. The customer in front of me was angry, the guy in back of me asked for propane but was told there was no one there to fill his tank. He walked out angrily at which time the guy that had told him he couldn't help him chased him down in the parking lot and ultimately filled his tank. Complete and utter trash representing your company. I suspect your company must be in a free fall because I can't believe this hasn't played out on a daily basis at this store. I will pay double the amount to rent from Home Depot or Penske next time. Fail!ROBERT T.

we started off with a very bad experience when we were going to drop our things at the storage and then the truck, but the Collins Lane staff, the young lady was amazing, very professional, was well knowledged and understanding. we cannot wait to work with her when we need more services and continue with our storage at her location.Albina G.
My truck had a flat tire about 30 miles from my destination. I pulled over to call roadside assistance but was left on hold and then hung up on. I call back and then I'm told there's an hour and a half wait time just to speak with someone, not including the time it's going to take for someone to have to drive to me and then fix the issue. I ended up having no choice but to continue driving and luckily I made it to my destination and then had to drive another 20 miles to the truck's drop off location all while driving on this flat tire because I couldn't get in contact with anyone to help with my tire issue. I was then told for the inconvenience, I would have my total amount due adjusted and my contract would remain open until that's done. I was still charged for the full amount and no one contacted me to give me any updates as I told when dropping off the truck that I'd be contacted regarding this issue.Lucas S.

Have representatives on site during office hours. Had to wait 1.5 hours for a rep to arrive after office should have been open. Vehicle I was given had no less than 50 damage "X" on it already, tire was low on air and triggering in dash notice. Cab smelt terrible. Box itself on the inside was in fine shape. When there was no one on site i tried to call the national UHAUL help number, gave up after being on hold for 45 minutes. Tried the online chat, got a quick response from Texas Rep, however they could not assist. Will be looking at Penske when I have to move my daughter back to the University.Chris G.

What is the Safe Move charge? I don't understand why it's on my receipt, or what it's for. Will it be refined on my final bill?THOMAS J.
This is the 2nd time we have reserved an appliance dolly when we booked online, only to find out when we arrived none were available. We needed the dolly to moves refrigerator so without one our rental was useless. The first time it happened last spring we had to drive several miles out of the way to another U-Haul to pick one up and then back there to drop it off before returning the truck. This time I called the day before pickup and was told that again they had none available. Luckily a location closer by had one but we still had to make an extra stop to pick up and drop off. Will never use this location again because they should have contacted us beforehand to let us know none would be available since it was clearly on the reservation both times. We gave them the benefit of the doubt but fool me twice.. Just horrible customer serviceâ€¦TIMOTHY W.

Not only did I not receive the email receipt but after being put on hold for about 25 minutes to talk to customer service. I found I was over charged for the rental of a truck. On August 8-30-21, I & asked Summer when I had to be out to avoid another months rent. She said 9-1-21. On 8-31-21, I called Summer about UHaul truck prices & decided I needed a 10 ft truck at .69 cents/mile. On 9-1-21, I called & asked Summer if I needed to pay over the phone to hold the truck & she said no it would be there. Later on arrival, she said the 10 Ft. truck was gone & only had 17 ft truck available, which was twice the amount I was expecting. So then she redid it & said I could use the 15 ft truck if I could have it back by 9 am on 9-2-21, & I said ok. Later I looked at the receipt which said to return it by 10 pm the same night, So that made my friends have to rush to get things done as we were expecting to return it at 9 am on 9-2-21. Therefore, I feel like I should be given an additional $10 credit for truck. Also. on the storage unit rental, she was trying to charge me another month for September, but I reminded her that she had told me on 8-30-21 that I had until 9-1-21, so she did correct that. That was the whole purpose of renting a uhaul truck to move out & NOT have to pay another months storage rent. So I told her if I was getting charged for September then to cancel the truck rental, so she said she would correct it. Summer was very nice but commented it must be her pregnant brain messing up everything. So I just wanted to make sure U-Haul management knows the situation that occurred. Horrible company. After UHaul took over from the previous company, Aladin Self Storage I received notice my auto payment was disconnected. I contacted UHaul to reset my auto payment. I called,emailed, texted and messaged UHauls customer service. After two months I finally made contact, they told me I didn't have a storage unit. I assured them I did, after more than an hour they said they had my auto payment set back up. The following month nothing came out of my account. Again I started attempting to contact them. After another two months attempting contact, I finally was able to speak with them regarding the invoice I had received that was SEVERAL hundred more than it should have been. The again told me I didn't have a storage unit nor an account with UHaul. After that I DROVE 16 hours from south Florida to Louisville KY. I went to clean out the unit. They allowed me ONE day access to the unit for one months payment which I authorized. I cleaned out as much as I could in the one day and left. After I left I saw they had charged my account for the one month AND 3 additional months that were not accurate. By the time I noticed I was already back in Florida so I asked a family member to clean out the rest and sell it. Unfortunately, UHaul decided to deny my family access even with my approval, code and phone giving authorization UNLESS my family member paid additional money (although my account was completely paid current and they couldn't explain the extra charges). Horrible experience, horrible customer service, they WILL charge your account without authorization and the WILL keep your stuff for auction after they've finished with your account. Overall poor experience. I rented a 26’ truck and 6-12 trailer. Over 1000 mile move. Tje truck rental was outstanding. The storage was a joke. The hook is a free storage unit for both That’s a joke. Called they reserved one for me. A 10/15 outside pull up. One unit. Kinda small don’t u think? When I got there after a 30 hour trip the manager informed me nothing available! Say what. After several hours back and forth with the manager and corporate ( corporate women c.s. ) horrible rude nasty women finally agreed on giving me something. That they didn’t have ????? Excellent experience until it was time for checkout. I emptied my unit and submitted my online move-out request a few days before the end of my rental period. About a week later, I received an email from the facility about my payment being overdue so I responded with a copy of the confirmation of my online move-out request but never received a response. About 10 days later, I received a more aggressive email about being past due on payment.
