JOHN JAt the time of my rental, the location was understaffed as I only saw one employee and a constant flow of customers (3-4 waiting). He did a great job handling the volume of customers.
Chris SWhen the receipt is sent out, make it viewable or have a way to increase the zoom. It is very hard to read.
Jason LMichael is always very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. He provides excellent customer service and is always willing to help with anything needed. Highly recommend!

John MHard to rate this location…. No one was there. I don’t know if it was clean because the door was locked. Talking to Jason, he said they had stepped out for lunch. I think it was close to 2 PM. Suggestion: Get one of those signs to put on the door that says “Out to lunch” and maybe another sign saying “here’s what to do if we’re gone…”

Jodi BJason the manager in this facility is top notch. The only reason I dropped it one star is due to one of his employees being one of the rudest individuals I have come across in a long time. I was unable to get my storage unit the night before because this employee couldn’t figure it out. Finally it became a few minutes to closing and he was still struggling. So instead of working through it, he just told me I had to come back tomorrow and blamed it on me because I came in a day early to take care of everything. He tried to deny me my free month because it was to store my son’s stuff from college. He said I wasn’t going to keep it long term so he wouldn’t honor the promotion. When outside I called the manager Jason and he was amazing. I came in the next morning and worked with him and he truly was great to work with. I would recommend this place to anyone because of the manager’s customer service. I can tell this one employee I dealt with on Sunday does not meat Jason’s standards. It was evident by the interactions I had with other employees that this one employee does not exemplify the managers customer service expectations. If you can avoid that one guy you will be happy with the service from Jason and the rest of his team.
Jeff VBoth Jeremy, who helped me when I first arrived, and the other gentleman who helped when I returned the truck were very friendly and helpful. Although they were super busy that morning, they took the time to help me out, didn't complain, and provided above-and-beyond customer service. They truly seemed to care.

Elijah AMy vehicle was dirty, online booking didn’t show the correct price when I checked out , my questions weren’t fully answered, but I waited 23 minutes just to receive service. I understand staff are helping others or working on something, but I was the only one in the store. I called as the counter instructed (which required me to look up the number on the whiteboard since it wasn't listed on it), and an employee walked right past me without saying, “I’ll be right with you” or anything else, so I didn’t realize he was an employee until I tried the intercom, and a different employee came out and said that employee who walked right past me he’d be right with me. Overall, I wasn't very happy that I paid for a vehicle to use and a portion of that time I paid for was just waiting to get it. I showed up 25 minutes early and didn't leave the lot until 12 minutes into my reservation time. This was my first time using this U-Haul location. It was a very nice location, but I've had much better experiences at other places that are less fancy.

craig mMy vehicle was never assigned to me as it should have been when I booked it well before the end of day. So I waited for well over an hour on the phone, outside on the ground, just to get a hold of someone at all. All in it was over a hour and a half, waiting to get a new truck. Also, the Ankeny Police Department had to come and check on me because they thought I was homeless and took my information. Not to mention, the call was almost a waste because I couldn’t hear anything the representative said, it sounded robotic when she spoke. Horrible experience.

CURTIS BI would tell others about your location, which was excellent for us. I would tell others about your services and customer relations, but I would not recommend you to a friend, as I have no experience in which to compare them. We have always used Uhaul because you met our needs
HARRIS SI would recommend online pickup. Customer service can use a bit more training. They just sat behind the counter as if they were hating life. We not personable, did not greet upon entering the store. Was not able to answer questions about other products of interest in the store.
Karyn HI had this van for 3 -4 hours and only used $10. Gas. I didnt know how many miles so I said probably 40. I made 1 trip. It wasn't that far and was only suppose to be $19.95 plus miles. I got charged over $85.00. Which was awful

ENRIQUE H | First ImpressionsI would have said excellent, but my most recent experience has dulled my view of things a bit. I had a storage shed, emptied it, and turned in the card and lock. I was told I'd get an email receipt. I got nothing. I called and couldn't get in touch with the facility so I spoke to the support people who told me to wait until the next day. Still the shed remained open. I called again and couldn't get to a person. I ended up stopping in my way home as this was an out of state rental for my daughter. I got it straightened out but I feel I only did because I went in person.

I wanted to tell you not only was he courteous, friendly, and very helpful, explaining everything to us in detail as this was our first time renting a storage unit. There was a problem with the security system and he couldn't get our cards or codes to work. It took a while, and he escalate the issue multiple times until he got it resolved, which took about an hour. During this entire situation he remained courteous, keeping my wife and I in the loop, and even when other customers stated showing up, never made us feel that our issue wasn't his top priority. He did get the issue resolved and we were able to use and access our shed. I was very impressed by the facility and the service I received and I would absolutely recommend uhaul and specifically the Ankeny location.

But he handled it very well and took time to help each customer, to meet their needs. He helped us 110%. We were able to get our trailer and go get moved. When we brought the trailer back, Luke, another employee, that did not call in, helped us get set up with our storage unit. He was very helpful and patient. He took the time we needed to go through the process. He answered every question with thorough knowledge. And he was very polite and kind. Thank you for a great experience!

I called and spoke with Jason Hatch, who said “we closed 5 minutes ago” when I asked what time they closed. The assistant manager that I spoke with when I arrived the next morning was excellent. There was a small wait because he was helping a gentleman that had called before they opened! He was extremely empathetic to my situation and completely turned my experience around. I think he also mentioned it was only his second week, props to him. Give that man a raise.
