Update and paint vehicle. The truck that I rented needed a paint job.

The young lady who checked the truck in on my return lied about the fuel level and charged me extra.luckily I took a picture and challenged it. My bill was adjusted. This should not have happened we should not have to worry about being cheated. I would only recommend this place to someone with the stipulation that they check their bill and document their gas level and mileage.

First, they gave me a uhaul truck that had fuse problems as the trailer to attach my car for a one-way to another start was not able to be hooked up the day I booked for. I had to come back to get the uhaul that I already loaded on my actual birthday! Then while driving 8+ hours I found out the windshield wipers on the truck didn’t work either causing me a 2 hour delay to move into my place. I won’t do business with Uhaul again!

Jasmine B | Online Move InThe truck had an issue with the fuel inlet that was not properly checked before the truck was released to us. We we assured that there was not an issue when we reported the dash warning light that was on at pickup, but dealt with gas overflowing from the tank each time we filled up on our cross-country trip. The biggest issue we had was that the Uhaul computer systems did not work properly when we picked up the truck. The service from the employees was fine, but neither the store computer systems, the website, nor the app operated correctly. It took almost three hours to complete the pickup process due to the computer and website issues. To be clear, this is not the fault of the pickup location and our service was fine, but it was very stressful to deal with makes me want to consider working with a different company for my next move.

It would also be more convenient to be able to scan a QR code to begin the drop off process that could easily be found on the truck or paperwork. 8.5/10 experience. We were helped promptly & were out of there in no time with the size truck & hand truck I needed & for that I’m grateful. The truck itself was pretty clean & well kept, but the hand truck and those wheels were a different story since I have many big pieces & steps *sigh. Would recommend this location though.
Chriastina RUpon arrival, my reservation for a 6x12 gate trailer was unavailable due to the previous guest returning it late. There were no other gate alternatives, so I had to settle for one without a gate, which made my job a lot harder. Plus their system was down which me it impossible to search for my trailer that I originally wanted online. To top it all off, they are incredibly understaffed. Some people were waiting in line for over 30 mins.

Tanya LI had trouble getting in touch with the correct department and had several issues with Uhaul rental. I did not receive the item with the ubox rental that I had paid for ahead of time and had to get a refund...But my major suggestion for Uhaul is to make it much easier for the customer to get into contact with the right department when there is an issue. I had to call multiple times to get the answers I needed regarding my rental, and I got disconnected several times, etc. I felt like I was going in circles trying to get to the right department. I also had issues with the app and website navigation at times.

And incompetent, he didn't give me any information on what time to return my truck.He did not give me any information on where to return the truck where the Dropbox was.He didn't give me any information on how to use the app.He was very incompetent.He was moving from customer to customer and he had no idea about his job. I did return and I spoke with the young lady.Her name was Kyra She was very helpful and And professional she was able to help me get my truck checked in and she did a very good job but.Eric needs to be retrained.

Harold FAfter loading, I scheduled an ubox access 24 hours in advance. However, when I got to the location, a manager-like person there said that the ubox had been shipped and they can do nothing. I tried to communicate but the manager was very rude and just walked away. Since I have to catch a flight very soon, I have to throw away all the items that I failed to put into the box. (and my ubox is almost half empty). It is a loss of hundreds of dollars. I had smooth experiences with Uhaul in the past. But this time, it is really bad. Not only because of the mistake made by the location, but also the altitude they have towards the mistake. I am writing this message in the hope that Uhaul can improve the location and let the employees know that they should not treat custermoers like that.

Garland WI reserved a van at a different location. I accidentally scheduled a 1AM pick up rather than a PM. The van was cancelled but I received no notification. I drove to that site and found no on site parking available, no van, and their system not working. I downloaded the app and was able.to find 2 vans at another location. Perhaps employees should have access to the app? The customer service at the Memorial location was very good. However, as I was late I don’t check mileage and fuel. I soon discovered the tank near empty so I had to get gas; another delay.

She told me it was best i speak with a manger but she had me waiting for a manger but never contacted her to even come inside. (She was cleaning the trucks) I eneded up asking a white gentleman for assistance. He was friendly and offered $20 off. I thought I should be offered atleast 50% off but accepted the $20 off

ROCKCLIFF HAdmittedly, I expected "some" courtesy, but this was beyond (far far beyond) my expectations. From the persons I spoke with on the phone to the drivers, they were all so very friendly. I had to keep my uboxes and extra month because my wife had surgery and it put us behind on getting unloaded. I mentioned that in passing and the lady on the phone wished us well with her recovery and made sure I knew I could always contact them if I needed more time. That doesn't sound like a big deal, but for a first time customer who was still learning how the uboxes work....that was an amazing relief. I recommend Uhaul Uboxes to anyone wanting to move, especially if you need a little extra time at the arrival location before you can unload everything!
Chuck FI don't understand the online reservation process. You complete all these involved questions online to reserve the vehicle and then when you get to the location to "self check-in" you have to answer MORE questions, take multiple pictures of your driver's license and the truck, and wait for an approval of some sort, AND go into the store where they again look at your driver's license and ask questions before giving you the keys. Self checkin doesn't save the customer time at all. If anything, it requires MORE steps for the customer at a time when every minute counts--moving! At the very least, you should have people take pics of their driver's license and answer ALL questions when they make the reservation online. And then skip the lengthy "self-checkin" and approval process when they get to the store. Tell ALL customers to go into the store so an associate can do that part since they basically do it again anyway. Also, when I went inside, there were 2 associates at the counter and 2 more in the store. NO ONE greeted me or asked if they could help me even though they weren't helping anyone else. I had to announce myself and tell them why I was there. Not exactly friendly service. One associate did say "Hi," to me as she walked out the store and after I was done at the counter. Finally, there was trash under the seats of the truck that I didn't notice until after I returned it. So I had to clean up some other customer's mess.

I would understand being charged a transfer fee but I'm confused as to the policy where I would have to pay an additional months rent for a new unit

I stood at the counter for over 30 minutes. One person was checking in another customer, and two additional associates assisting one customer. No one ever acknowledged my presence. I finally asked for help from a female who appeared to be a team lead or supervisor. She walked behind the counter still without asking how she could help. She stated, "Give me one minute to finish with this customer". At the same time, 3 to 4 male associates walked around on their cell phones. Then, I was forced to upgrade the storage room, because the reserved 5X10 was not available. My transaction was completed at 2:48 pm, which is unacceptable with the number of employees walking and sitting around versus the number of customers being supported. I would like a customer service manager to reach out to me to discuss the higher rate of storage and your organization's cell phone usage policy during business hours.

Getting my shed initially took hours even though I had pre booked all online. Switching units later was a mess because they had made mistakes in the system and no longer knew what they had open and available- so again many hours to do simple things. The staff seem worn out with it and I know as a customer it’s an issue. I still like uhaul for moving and storing- but it is something you could improve on.

So they lied to me which I was aware that they could change it . And they also said they would refund me back my late charges for my inconvenience and no one ever did . The staff was very hard at work with other customers, however upon helping me it just seemed like communication wasnt adhered to correctly. I had a 15ft truck. I stated I had moved out of a townhome yet did not have a lot of furniture but a bunch of boxes, a mattress, tv stand and a lounge chair. The representative that helped was very dilligent but when I got my storage unit it did not fit all my belongings into the unit leaving me having to pay for another day of the uhaul truck to utilize it to keep my belongings in until I could come back the next day to purchase yet another storage unit to fit the rest of my stuff into. Had I was heard the first time a 10x10 should have been given instead of a 5x10 and I wouldn't have had to purchase a 5x5 for the rest of my stuff and I was still unable to keep my mattresses due to them not fitting in the units. I broke my table top glass during the process and I had to get rid of an ottoman amongst other various items due to not fitting in the unit. The staff was great no problems there very courteous and respectful just wish I could have gotten the right size unit instead of now having to pay for two separate units that will in the end cost me more out of pocket vs utilizing a 10x10. I did not reach out to resolve because it initially took me six hours to even ge the belongings I could in the 5x10 unit and this was after they had already closed.

You ask a question & they don’t respond - no words, no nods, no facial expression changes, but they’d help. (Like, we couldn’t get in the storage doors after the office closed one time. We asked a guy outside & he didn’t respond at all… just walked over to one of the doors, unlocked it, propped it & walked away.) The outside building was often dirty with glass & debris & the pillars lining the curb are falling apart. The access times worked fine for us. There’s almost always a pile of junk twice as high as any human at the entrance. Inside isn’t terrible, they just put some kind of coating on the floors which made it look nice. Sometimes there was debris in the hallways but not too terrible. Our unit was spacious & free from debris. We saw roaches a couple times throughout our time there, but it wasn’t every visit and never more than one in a visit. We’ve yet to see if our belongings got infested as we haven’t made it to our destination for unpacking yet. Overall, this place isn’t terrible, but we’ve utilized much nicer U-Haul Storage properties. This one could use some TLC & staff customer service training & it’d be excellent.

To get an adjustment now in the money I have to sit on hold for hours to get help. I guess they can only charge my card at the rental place, but they can’t reverse charge. I should’ve just gone with the facility close by.

They sent me to the memorial location and specifically asked for a unit I could drive my car to and they made me a reservation for one that did not have that option. It also took so long to try to get another storage that I lost my movers and ended up unloading my truck BY MYSELF at the only other storage facility nearby that was available right away. The whole ordeal made me return the truck after the scheduled drop off time. It was the worst day ever and the only time I garage had issues with U haul throughout the years.

Just because one person disobeyed the rules doesn’t mean that the hours should have been changed for everyone. 2. I do not appreciate receiving a phone call every month from your staff to remind me that my due date is coming up. This is child’s play and I do not appreciate it. As a customer, I signed a contract agreeing to pay our bill by a certain date, and if I don’t, there are late fees and other measures in place that I must adhere to in order to keep my account active. I don’t need to reminder phone calls. Just follow the contract. 3. An emergency contact should not be required to rent a unit. At the beginning of the pandemic, I lost my job, therefore, understandably, I was three or four days late in paying my bill a couple of times. However, each time, as punishment, a letter was sent to my emergency contact informing them of my lateness. Emergency contacts should only be used in the event of an emergency, not because I’m a few days late making my payment! Overall, I do not agree with the way business is conducted at the Avondale U-Haul Storage. Until this location gets new management, I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Went to check on the unit 1 day before moving, and was sent on a wild goose chase to 3 different UHAUL facilities before being so emotionally drained, I ended up in tears at the last facility (the “new guy” didn’t know what he was doing and kept insisting that he didn’t have the storage unit I needed until I burst into tears and he FINALLY went to get someone that knew what they were doing). I will never ever use Uhaul again after this experience. I come from a military background, and have used Uhaul my entire life, and will strongly urge my family to never use you all ever again either. Extra Space Storage is a much better company. They have 5 star reviews on google, the lady there was SO SWEET to me. Clean facilities. I called them the morning of my move, told them about my Uhaul experience and they took care of me right away. Cheaper units as well. I know Uhaul won’t care that one person and her family doesn’t use their services, but the peace of mind of dealing with a company and people that treat you well makes a world of difference for me. Is this what we do to each other, I’ve never been there at night and whoever was with her thought it was so funny laughing twice when I mentioned I was put out and I’m Homeless, the mind set some folks have I try not to understand cause that wasn’t right at all, I was using unit 1946 which I moved out was too humiliated to stay! I was charged for a unit the MONTH after I cleaned it out and the facility put a lock on it. Just say yall extort people and let it be that. No need to pretend that this company cares about people.

Answer: No. Did my code ever work in 3 1/2 years? Answer: No. Did an alarm sound every time I entered my space? Answer: Yes. Was the place UNDER-staffed (by mostly friendly people)? Answer: Yes. Did your website work when trying to move out? Answer: No. After calling Uhaul directly, did it solve the problem? Answer: No. Did you receive a bill and a phone call saying I owed even after having called Uhaul to move out? Answer: Yes! Your leading questions do not help your facility get better. Ask more comprehensive questions and you might get a better facility. That's why the poor rating.

The line was growing and customers were becoming extremely impatient, as only one person was working the main desk. The young man did an excellent job by remaining professional and managing the disgruntled customers. He was conductBig business between 2 POS stations at once, to try to keep the line moving. To add insult to injury, the POS was acting up and he had to manually key in payment details. In a huge facility there was no one willing to help out or any back up available, although the line was long and steadily growing . If I hadn’t had movers scheduled to arrive, I would have gone to another facility. The wait time is always long and there seems to only be one person scheduled, even before the pandemic this was my experience. About 2 years ago I had previously used this storage location to store some items and unfortunately had the same experience. A manager never jumped in to assist or even approach their customers to say we apologize for the wait and this is after a customer demanded to speak with the manager, I never saw the manager came and they sent a message to the customer via the ear communications system.
