Checking in was a problem. I arrived 10 minutes before the reservation request and the front desk help was charging me for an extra day. When I showed her the online reservation agreement she said they had not control over the online price but theirs was different. I protested and finally go the agreed price. Not a good experience. This experience was very good - this was the 3rd rental in a month and the 1st started off horribly; the original pickup site never showed up plus the wait was almost an hour for customer rep on phone. Finally, a wonderful lady who really cared about our situation (not sure of her name but I think it was Kayleigh!?!) put us in touch with Al at Macs Valero who came through like a champ; 2nd and 3rd rentals we went directly to Al (will not do online reservation in the future).Harry H.

Gat staff that can communicate in proper English. Trucks shouldn't leak in the rain. Contract that shows accurate fuel level and some indication of how much gas the tank holds to return it to the previous level. Maybe just start all trucks at a full tank since you charge customers to replace gas they didn't put back in - you do replace the gas you charge them for, right? Wash off the caked on mud. Replace the broken mirrors that you charge people for. Don't give me a truck held together with blue painter's tape.Mark P.

I was told that my card wouldn't be charged until I returned with the truck that was a damn lie so return the truck and noticed that the original estimated milage charge was still the same instead of adjusted so that manager says yes it's pending ...any charge is pending long story short I was lied to and won't use them againTIMOTHY C.
Customer service rep was very rude and ignored me when I asked him to help with the code. I had to go inside and have the other young man get the code since it didn't show up on my phone. Check engine light was on and the truck ran horribly. Radio would not work at all and when it finally did, it was hit and miss on local stations. Was charged for $19 in gasoline when I filled it back up to the 3/4 mark (same as given to me) and even submitted a photo of the gauge. Drivers side window handle was missing the part to roll the window down, visor clip on drivers side was broken so the visor would drop down while I was driving.Sandra G.

Horrible Customer service at time of move-out. Had to call corporate office NUMEROUS times and wait WELL OVER 3HOURS hours in order to keep from being billed for an additional month even though I moved out of unit #1460 a day early. I wound up early to pick up my truck rental and got set up and out of the door quickly. I had no problems at all with a 1500 mile trip. I averaged about 15- 17 mpg. I'd do it again if I was moving again. Easy turn in at the Tucson facilityLarry C.

First you can improve by letting go your receptionist. During my 21\2 wait for my hitch to be installed, I witnessed a customer asking her if she was ok ( she didn't get out of her chair to help him), she didn't answer the phone, she said the F word 3 times and said she hated her job, she was face timing on her phone and not helping a customer and was annoyed that a young male employee asked for help on the computer. The other employees were very helpful and did a great job. If I was the business owner, I would like to know how this negative and lazy employee is impacting the image of this business.Sharon Y.

There was a young African American male working at the front desk while I was checking in to pick up my rental trailer. The other employee and I were discussing the general state of affairs regarding the Covid outbreak and as I am an ICU nurse at one of the local hospitals, I mentioned that most of the people testing positive had not been vaccinated. The young African American man took that as his cue to interrupt and start mouthing off about how he wasn't ever getting vaccinated and how the government had put something in the vaccinations that causes cancer. And that's fine as he's entitled to his opinion like everyone else. What I'm not ok with was that at that point, it was obvious that he's at the desk unvaccinated and with no mask. I don't know what U-Haul's policy is regarding Covid and their employees who work directly with the public, but in that moment, I didn't feel safe. Thank you for your timeâ€¦Margaret M.

Train your employees. I checked in online to make everything happen more smoothly, per the suggestion on the website, but that did nothing. The employees were extremely nice, but more than one was new, and kept saying that as they fumbled through my rental process. It took over an hour to get away from there with my rental trailer, and again, super nice and courteous young men, but someone really should have been there to guide them and make things move along correctly. I wasn't too sure about the hook-up after that fellow expressed so much doubt and concern about doing it right, "since he was new". When I first walked in, there was only one person working at the counter, and there were 4 sets of customers waiting, and that nice fellow didn't know how to work the computer system, so everyone just stood around until the one person came in who could expedite things. Then two more employees came in and things began to move, but it was apparent that there needed to be someone in charge and overseeing these new guys. They were not ready to be doing all that they were, and it was uncomfortable for them, and for me.Leslie G.

Pickup and drop off was pretty easy. the online reservation system needs some serious help. It is cumbersome, and each part of my reservation (pickup, equipment, drop-off, and return date) changed without my input. Customer service agents say that it is an everyday occurrence, that they have to deal with.Tim H.

The young gentleman with dreadlocks, I wish i could remember his name, is always friendly and helpful. uhaul policy cancelled my reservation without so much as a call to at least find out what was happening. I did receive an email notice of cancellation. But then had to wait on hold for over 30 minutes to get my reservation back. I was never told of such a policy or given an opportunity to extend my check in. That was ridiculous and a waste of time. Well I was going to rate the facility very well until it was miscommunication and they call not me but my MOM to tell me that I had to come and MOVE MY ITEMS OUT OF THE STORAGE THAT MY BOYS HAD PLACED THE ITEMS IN THE WRONG STORAGE AND MY ITEMS WAS PLACED IN THE STORAGE THAT THE WORKER Walked me to and showed me the she storage I am in!!
