The experience with the location on New Utrecht was fantastic. But my experience with the company was bloody awful. The app didn’t work, the 1-800 number is useless with people who can’t hejp and pass me off to others, and they sent me to a van and pickup spot that didn’t exist. Hours and hours of nonsense. But when I finally go to new Utrecht, they saved the day.

I was charged 229 then I returned the rental early and used less than half expected miles then my bill changed to 170 but I’m yet to get a refund

Customer service here is very low quality. People at the front desk give attitude. The staff handling the vehicle rentals outside are extremely rude, We asked them sime questions being close to them and they act like they dint hear. We have to go literally up to their face for then to answer i guess. Once they do answer they are even more rude, they dont want to help. They act like they wont even want to be there. If they dont like that job they really shouldn’t be there. Very low quality of staff at this location. The only reason i get rentals from here is cause its close to my house. If not i wouldn’t go to this place.

The lady at front desk refused to process pick up process. Instead she said that mobile pick up is only way to proceed pick up. However, i picked up a couple days ago at front desk at the same location wihtout any issues. I meantioned it to her, but she said I got lucky, she wouldn't do it manually through the computer and left the front desk leaving me alone to handle the process via app.

0/10. This was one of the most incompetent customer service experiences I've ever had. I had a confirmed 5:00 PM reservation at the Prospect Heights location. I completed the online check-in, received confirmation, showed up on time... and they didn't have my truck. Apparently, a confirmed reservation means absolutely nothing to U-Haul. The staff were completely useless. No solutions, no urgency, no accountability. I was essentially told to figure it out myself. Isn't the entire point of making a reservation so the company can provide the vehicle they promised? It took me THREE HOURS to finally secure another truck, and the only option was in Bensonhurst, miles away from where I originally booked. What should have been a quick pickup turned into an all-night ordeal, and I didn't get a truck until around 8:00 PM. During this entire nightmare, no one answered the phone. Not the locations. Not customer service. Calling U-Haul was a complete waste of time. If something goes wrong, don't expect anyone to help you. As if wasting three hours of my time wasn't enough, U-Haul also double charged me. I was charged $90 and then $109, even though the rental should have been around $60. So now I get the privilege of spending even more time trying to fix their billing mistakes. U-Haul failed to honor my reservation, failed to provide any meaningful customer service, failed to answer the phone, and failed to bill me correctly. At every single step, they made an already stressful moving day exponentially worse. What's the point of reserving a truck if U-Haul has no intention of honoring the reservation? Absolutely unacceptable. I will never use U-Haul again, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you enjoy wasting hours of your day and being charged incorrectly.

Every time I pick up a van there is less than a quarter tank of gas in it. Either keep them full or offer credit for people to fill up. This is ridiculous and incredibly inconvenient.

the front desk lady was SOOO rude.. both of the ladies at the counter were very off putting. Very rude, useless, and overall terrible help. Extremely condescending as well. I just did the sign up and got my truck through the app after witnessing how they were.

I’m not up on latest features on new cars. Couldn’t find emergency break release when I was trying to start the van. Was given another model that was more manual in set up. Appreciated the change. My regular car is 12 years old so need a primer on newer vehicles.

Never want to use Uhaul again after notifying me an hour before my pick up that I have to go an hour away to a different location than I had booked from. If I cant rent from a location just tell me don’t lie to get my money and then fuck over my plans because you can’t be honest about where your rentals are located. Fuck Uhaul money grab bullshit

I was charged 3 times and my bank held over $900. No one in the location could help me. I then had to run another card to get access to the Uhaul and had no money to pay for other things that needed to be paid for that say. Some people live paycheck to paycheck you know!!!!

The truck was given to us on empty. We returned it with gas and then still charged us over $100 for gas. Insane.

The truck was not available at the reserved time which caused a delay in our moving schedule. There were many 15' trucks on the lot but according to management none of them were "approved for transfer" so we had to wait for the people who rented the truck before us to return before we could pick up. It was really frustrating and meant that we had to reschedule our moving help in NY, cleaners, and moving help in Crozet - delaying our move by a day.

I reserve a truck utilizing self-tour; yet still spent over an hour to get the keys for a van. Vans were not clean neither tidy. Gas was on EMPTY as I drove off the lot. Staff were ghetto!

The check in process is horrendous. We are forced to use an app instead of getting help from the staff that is there. This makes not sense. And WAY too expensive compared with competitors in the same area. The facility looks like it's falling apart. Your competitors actually take care of their locations. Just an awful experience.

The people at customer service are very nasty, in a way very discriminating towards the Spanish, that was the feeling I experienced. Two times I ask that I need a storage in a ground floor because I couldn’t lift heavy stuffed and the first time was given to me but the second time they refused because I didn’t come with the rented car, even though I had expended over three thousand in rents at you company..

The place had no stairs and I risked my life climbing stairs that was very unstable I was told by the 800 number that I would get a ground floor storage room for my heavy wheels and of course I was lied to like my previous rentals in New Jersey this was once a good company but my last two rentals make me rethink my business with them
