The U-Haul rental process is not user friendly. Not everyone is tech-savvy. Please streamline the process so all ages are capable of using the service more easily and hassle free. Also, my truck did not have a ramp. Please consider hand truck rentals. The associate who checked us out upon return was very pleasant, patient, and professional.

A last-minute change of the rental vehicle did not properly reflect the amount of gasoline in the vehicle. The rental contract indicated 1/4 gas gauge when in reality the vehicle had less than an 1/8 of gas in the tank. I reported the gas discrepancy to the counter associate and was advised that she would modify the contract accordingly. She indicated that I would receive the appropriate credit. Upon leaving the rental location the gas indicator came on, and I had to stop at a local gas station to pump gas fuel in the amount of $25. I did not receive any credit as promised. The rental contract should have been initially modified by the associate at the location.

Even reserving 3 days in advance it was very chaotic going to pick up the truck. I was there for an hour and 15 minutes first I was there before my reservation time and there were so many people and only 2 staff working the front so the wait time was crazy, secondly one complication is the staff gave me the wrong truck and keys than what was on my contract so when having to take pics on the app and confirming information like license plate and mileage nothing matched up. Very time consuming and had to go back inside to resolve the issue and everything has to be updated in the computer they switched to right trucked but something happened there too and more time consuming was that I wound up still taking the first truck anyway but the information was not updated in the computer so the info didn't match again and the app wouldn't let me update again. So all the time dealing with staff, moving supplies from one truck to the other then back to the first truck, then taking pictures with my own phone and not the app of all sides of the truck 3 separate times to show condition of the truck (which was fine) and to prove mileage before I left and prove license plate because they didn't match with what was in the system. I should have been out within half hour , I've rented uhaul so many times.... Not here though...... And I was supposed to be at my location to pick up furniture by 10. That did not happen. I was extremely late. It was just way too stressful that day...... Not saying that they are like that everyday... This was my first time picking up from there and the experience was not that great for pick up. So all this could have probably been avoided had the staff provided the right keys and truck that were on my contract in the first place .I do try to be understanding that mistakes do happen but the stress was overwhelming for me ... BUT I do have to say that through all this and I was so stressed out and upset and I felt like I was about to have a panic attack, the staff inside and outside were very calm and very respectful. Not one staff member had an attitude and actually did try to calm me as I was super upset. .. I do have to pick up again from this location in the next week because it's the closest so hopefully everything will run smoothly next time. Bringing the truck and supplies back though was a super fast process. I shall update review on the second visit to this location.

From pick up to return it was a terrible experience. The pick up woman initially tried to give me a van with the fuel light in and offered a $5 fuel credit. I returned the vehicle 27-Sep-26 at roughly 2:30PM. I was told they “do not check in vehicles”. I was turned away at the return line trying to close out my rental and get my receipt. At the desk in the office, I was told the same thing. I went home and the vehicle was never checked in. I had to call on 28-Sep-26 to finally resolve the rental. I think I was charged about 5-7 additional miles. So I feel that someone at the location may have used the van.

I believe U-HAUL is providing excellent services. U-HAUL has got top of the line equipment. I have one suggestion that any new customer like me who is first time using the vehicle or equipment of U-HAUL must be properly briefed about the use of vehicles to avoid any damage. Every vehicle has different operating systems. Rest I appreciate the U-HAUL customer service.

Overall negative experience. Original pickup location was scheduled for Atlantic Highlands NJ. Had to switch to Brooklyn due to U-Haul not having any rentals in New Jersey. Very unprofessional and upsetting that I had to drive to Brooklyn. Lost time at work plus gas and tolls that weren’t expected.

I reserve a truck utilizing self-tour; yet still spent over an hour to get the keys for a van. Vans were not clean neither tidy. Gas was on EMPTY as I drove off the lot. Staff were ghetto!

The check in process is horrendous. We are forced to use an app instead of getting help from the staff that is there. This makes not sense. And WAY too expensive compared with competitors in the same area. The facility looks like it's falling apart. Your competitors actually take care of their locations. Just an awful experience.

The people at customer service are very nasty, in a way very discriminating towards the Spanish, that was the feeling I experienced. Two times I ask that I need a storage in a ground floor because I couldn’t lift heavy stuffed and the first time was given to me but the second time they refused because I didn’t come with the rented car, even though I had expended over three thousand in rents at you company..

The place had no stairs and I risked my life climbing stairs that was very unstable I was told by the 800 number that I would get a ground floor storage room for my heavy wheels and of course I was lied to like my previous rentals in New Jersey this was once a good company but my last two rentals make me rethink my business with them
