I chose to pay and have a two-wheel dolly included with my truck when I ordered online. When I went to pick up my truck, I was told initially that there were no dollies available, and then that an employee would leave one out across the street for me. When I went across the street, there was no dolly, and I was in a rush so I flagged an employee down and asked him to take it off my bill. He said that he would. When I returned the truck later that day, I told the same thing to the woman at the front - her name was Patty. She also told me that the amount would be taken off the bill, but over a week later it has not come off. It's only $7, the money isn't the point. I shouldn't have to chase two people down in person, and now re-iterate my story here in order to be refunded for a product that you allowed me to reserve, and then made it difficult enough to retrieve that I decided it was easier to forgo it altogether. Obviously, there's a breakdown between in communication between the people running your website, and the people on the ground at the location. If you allow me to reserve a product the night before (in this case the two-wheel dolly), it should just be in the truck waiting for me in the morning. If it's not, your employees should be proactive in removing the charge from my bill. It's a pretty pathetic and glaring display of not caring about the customer. Maybe it's not company-wide, and simply at this location. Either way, I'll definitely be looking elsewhere next time I need to move.James S.

I wouldn't want to recommend this location to anyone with the lack of information and misinformation I received. The person who attended me was very kind and trying their best BUT was not knowledgeable enough which cost me having to buy a dolly instead of renting the one I reserved online. I told the person who attended me that I had a u-haul rental and that I didn't know what to do since that would have been my first time. He proceeded to inform me about the next steps and where to get the vehicle but did not indicate where to return it. He also informed me that there were no more dolly's available to use, later I discovered that they are stored in the bed of the u-haul, which resulted in me purchasing a dolly that I did not need. Also, I was giving wrong pricing on both dolly options to purchase. There was a black colored dolly, that I purchased, and was told it cost $65 when it was actually way more expensive then that. I also made sure to clarify which one I wanted so he would give me the correct information yet still assured it was $65. There were others around him that he could have asked but didn't. Once we were finally checking out he said, "oh, the price was the dolly is actually more money.. do you still want it?", which at least he said it was instead of ignoring it and I understand I could have refused to purchase it but I was in a rush to move out of our home to the next home. Again, the customer service from this person was great! Very kind and willing to help but lacks a lot of information which cost me a lot money I did not need to spend if he would have been more knowledgeable and more open to asking others questions if he does not know the answer.Bryan S.

I had to rent and cancel two times because U-Haul kept changing my pick up location to 100+ miles away. I was confirmed to pick up in Twin Cities twice and you changed my location. I finally called around in my own and found one because I can't trust your online reservation. I will NEVER recommend this. Then I ended up being charged $180 more than the online quote. It's not that I wouldn't recommend the location, it's just that the inside, especially the door, had a lot of greasy home and it just got on boxes, clothes, and bags. It's really a low cost fix. Just power wash the insides of the trailers once in awhile.LISA M.

The pick up location and the drop off location there was no problems everything went very well the real problem that we had was finding out where we were going to get the trailer we did not know until the last minute, something needs to change to fix that problem. we were traveling from Michigan to Minneapolis and we're supposed to pick up a trailer on the way to make it more convenient, but it did not happenKarin C.

Couple of notes: 1. It was not disclosed to me that if we don't come within the hour to pick up the rental, it will be given away. That was super disappointing and should be stated verbally and in writing in bold letters (this was the first time we rented from Uhaul). When we arrived at SLP location to pick up our truck, it was rented away by someone else since it was over the 1 hour mark. At least a courtesy call stating that "if you don't pick it up in 30 minutes, we'll rent it way" - that's proper business etiquette especially in USA. 2. I was directed to go to the Bloomington site since that was the closest place that had the same size truck for rental. When I got there Matthew helped me (Aug 27th) get the rental truck set up. He was super helpful and understanding of my situation and treated me like a 5-star customer. Having managed dozens and dozens of employees, Matthew deserves a raise and a shout-out for excellent customer service.Andrei B.

This trailer was not safety inspected. No point discussion by person hooking up trailer, seemed like he didn't care. I had one tire blow on the trailer 40 miles to the closest town. Waited one hour for roadside repair next to highway. Both tires on that side, passenger were bad. Repair guy went on the drivers side rear and showed that the tire was in terrible shape ready to blow. He followed me into town. Replaced third tire. Immediately the ride was better and gained like 6 miles to the gallon on gas. This trailer was a safety hazard leaving from Bloomington MN No concern for my safety. What does their report show of that leaving, their inspection? History of miles on those three tires. That trailer was not ready for a long trip. desk staff were difficult to understand and did not explain lease trrms vlearly -- tpld us it would all be clear when we read lease on electronic board and read printed pages if same. But print font was soooo tiny it really was not possible to read words on papers. u- haul really needs better presentation of its customer lease agreement. in several instances your lease omits major sections of Minnesota's Self Torage statute provisions -- like notice that certain ' exempt" personal property I s always accessable and removable from rental unit- clotjing, yools of trade, personal papers ,& records and other items ennumerated in the statute. Other tenant rights are also omitted from explicit inclusion in lease. While U Haul staff are friendky and helpful, the basic tenant- landlord relationship is not well presented in the current composition of the lease.Brook M. | First Impressions

Bloomington U-haul charged crazy fees because they had us on automatic billing, something messed up with their payment system. I called multiples times to get a manager.. I even called corporate, and no one could seem to help me remove the fees from their mess up!? Needless to say, I am glad to be done with this u-haul… and their security systems are always messed up!!!!! We would check in and it would still trigger the alarm. This is my 3rd time renting a vehicle from the Lyndale location in the past 2 years. I also rented 4 times from the Nicollet Avenue location in Minneapolis during the same timeframe. I was a short term rental landlord that is selling properties that have been fully furnished. I have sold lots, moved lots to a garage and now rented a storage unit from you. It was good timing. I arrived and was greeted warmly, and when I said I had a reservation he immediately said "Are you Michael?," and when I said yes he he asked me how my day was going.
