The people and equipment were fine, but the app experience was horrible. I had a lot of problems using the app. It was very slow, and it wouldn’t allow me to take my initial picture because of a location permissions issue, even though I had already granted the app permission to use my location for navigation. It seems the navigation had to be stopped first before the picture feature would work. It also didn;t know the location had ran out of dollys but charged me anyway, a human needed to help remove that.
Carlos VDon’t count on having a dolly..we reserved in advance and were told when we arrived there weren’t any because they were first come first serve. Why allow people to reserve if you can’t guarantee them? A dolly is pretty important when moving. I think maybe a way to get you to buy one from them?

However it became clear after driving for about 10 minutes the air conditioning did not work. The result was a miserable experience with cab tempreratures rising to over 110 degrees while sitting in traffic.
David BThe comments pertain to UHaul in general. BEWARE: U-Haul has a policy of only expecting 1/4 tank of gas upon return. It is buried in the fine print and not mentioned during checkout. You won’t be credited for anything above 1/4 tank. Customers are filling their trucks on their own dime.

Milutin No Whom It May Concern at U-Haul, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding the experience I had at your Washington, DC facility, located at 26 K Street NE, during my 20-foot truck rental. The truck I was provided had only 1/16th of a tank of fuel. When I raised this issue, I was sent back and forth between the parking lot and the counter, wasting time I did not have due to scheduled loading. When I finally spoke with the counter representative, she dismissed my concern, stating, "We're not a gas station here" which is super disrespectful.

Had I known of the one-way option, I would have chosen that. I tried to make the correction online, and then called, only to be told that there was nothing the store could do and returning it to a different location would result in a fee. I ended up having to pay for a much more expensive experience, than I planned for. Even though, I was already expecting the move to be pricey. In the future, instead of just asking the estimated miles, the attendant should also verify the drop off location.

Orlando GI started moving my stuff in on Sunday the 12th, at about 2 or 3 the gentleman working that time was very polite even though he was helping another guest he still assisted me as well. However coming in on Monday the 13th around 8:30 am I walked in and asked a quest the the female working that day who was not doing anything I must’ve interrupted her during her cell phone call on speaker phone talking to her friend about a man. I asked were we allowed to use the orange carts allowed to move things in? There was no yes or no, her response for what? I said storage! She said there are carts in the back. I asked about the orange carts specifically because I knew the remaining items were only bags and knew from the day before that they kept falling off. I went to the back and grabbed the rolling cart, didn’t even feel like addressing her unprofessionalism. I grabbed the cart and came out through the store entrance, while still talking on the phone on speaker she says you can’t bring stuff in through here it has to be the loading dock. I explained I was not told that yesterday and she rudely said well you can’t! While still talking on the phone to her friend and walking around the store still doing nothing. I took the cart to my car of which she then came outside on speaker to see what I was doing I guess. I don’t blame the gentleman the day before because he was busy and still tried to assist me. If she is the customer service I would have experienced on the day before I definitely would have canceled my storage unit. I’m not sure of what your cell phone policy is but I’m sure as a Area Manager in Customer Service that talking on thee phone with your friend and gossiping while customers are in the facility or not, is not appropriate. Especially not on speaker phone either, then to also be rude as well. She clearly wanted to go back and forth about the dock, I didn’t have time and also have other things to do. I’m big on customer service over 20 years management and she would not be someone I would deal with. I prefer writing reviews and calling corporate.

DECLAN DThe online agent for check in repeatedly messed up my reservation. First it tried to sign me up for 2 days instead of one and it was a huge hassle to remove the second day. Then it added on the $15 safe drive and a preemptive refueling cost without my permission. I was told both would be removed but only the refueling was removed so I ended up paying the $15 even though I did not sign up for it when I made my reservation nor do I need it because I am self insured.

We had one slight issue, when we were picking up our truck at 5:30am est and the app asked us to “confirm a contact” that they would call for verification — all of our friends and family were still asleep, and the app wouldn’t let us list each other since we are driver + reservation-maker! However, I called the 24/7 roadside assistance line and received prompt, kind, and immediate support from a representative. I would advise U Haul to reconsider the “verify a contact” stipulation and allow advanced verification (1-3 days beforehand) for off-hours pickups when everyone is asleep! But your amazing customer service stood out to us!

THOMAS TFailed TPMS sensors, squealing pulley and burned out headlight, but everything else worked well and the back of the truck still had some debris. Staff were very friendly though and got me through the check out and check in process. Overall a good experience and a good value even though the per mile charge was higher than other locations. I will be back.

ANDREW HI signed up for counter pick-up, but the associate had me scan a QR code which took me to the digital pick-up. It's like they could not be bothered by the existence of a customer. Also, the digital pick-up is clunky and not user friendly. And no, I don't want to download Uhaul's app, I already have too many that I never use.

ROBERT CLet someone know when using a prepaid card they won’t be able to extend their rental with that prepaid card, because it’s “it’s not on file”, but later will be charged the rental fee on that card. I was charged over $4,000

I have lengthy complains about the online services/movile return process but that has little to do with the facility itself. Would return to them for sure.

NADINE BMoving is of the most traumatic and stressful process one could go through! I arrived to pick up the truck, and I encountered a very rude and combative uhaul worker. We had gone through a massive winter storm and basically no where to park huge truck and moving large equipment. I had to reschedule my move until some of the snow was cleared from the streets and most important had to clear myself. I had booked a furniture dolly but it wasn't available for me anymore. While in the store, I had picked up different things i thought I might use. But, not quickly making up my mind, she proceeded to yell at me! As a business owner myself, I stayed calm. Then without say she stood up and announced she's off to the bathroom and another employee helped me with what was left to get truck. I wouldn't not recommend to my friends this location.

I needed to storage my stuff on the 27th of jul, so between go and get my stuff and come back, the store would be closed, so the least I would have expected as a some sort of compliment for a new customer would have been to wave the after hour charge for a day, no big deal it is just a thinking, and the to be obligated to buy some specific sort of padlock it is kind of absurd but anyways it is what it is other than that I rate your service average. Customer service? Excellent. Policies? Not very good for customers. My opinion.
