The equipment was fine. The service was poor. I was given a faulty truck and it took the staff almost 30 minutes to even take a look at my issue. They seemed generally irritated with me, which was odd given that I had no role in making the truck faulty. They didn't know how to fix the issue, so they gave me an older truck. It took an hour of waiting around for me to get out of the lot, during which I was being charged for use. More importantly, I was charged twice; I've paid $350 for a uhaul trip that was advertised and quoted as ~$150. I am hoping that UHaul billing resolves this issue. I had prepared my reservation online in order to minimize any potential issues on-site, but it seemed like the staff and the online portal were not on the same page. Online, I was told I would be making a partial payment on site to be followed by a completing payment upon return. Instead I was charged fully on site, and then charged fully again upon return. I don't think it's an unusually demanding request to ask for a normally functioning vehicle. I thought I was perfectly polite, but the staff was noticeably frustrated with me. This was a poor experience.

The staff was courteous, efficient, and professional. The man who handled my paperwork was willing to go out of his way to make sure I got the right size van, so I was impressed. The van was clean but needed a more thorough maintenance check!! A front tire was low on air (meaning we could not read the mileage); some kind of engine light was on the whole time. Someone should check the equipment before sending customers out in these vehicles!

I have a complaint about the vehicle i was give for a long distance drive. At time i fear something was going to happen the wheel alignment was off any potholes i hit at 65 mpr i fell like i was loosing control. And when i slow down the rpm goes crazy on me. It was the most terrifying experience with you guys. For a long distance drive like i was expecting better.

Reps wanted to assign me a truck in front because they didn’t want to move one out of the way for the one assigned to me (which was a newer truck) for my cross country move. I requested the newer truck and the reps agreed.

I was asked to check in the vehicle when returned using the app. Seems lazy on part of uhaul. You should check in the vehicle for the customer. Yes this was during business hours.

You greatly overcharged me for gas. I travelled 30 hwy miles, this vehicle gets 20 mpg hwy according to US Gov, that would be about 1.5 gallons. U-Haul charged me for nearly 5 gal at $4.50/gal. I agreed to that price, but I’m going to hold you to accurately calculate gas usage. Please make this adjustment to rental #26338747

I had to wait 1.5 hours because the equipment I rented had not been returned. A sales associate mentioned she new of this scheduling conflict the day before pick up, but wasn't bothered to fix. I was annoyed that my time was wasted, and no one cared to contact me.

Both salespeople on site informed me that they were sold out when I asked to “rent a truck”. I was almost out the door when I decided to ask if they could point me to which uhaul site in dc isn’t sold out. It took the gentleman who ended up renting me my truck two clicks of his mouse to find out he had many trucks. He said “oh, we are only sold out of pickup trucks.” It’s not only ridiculous that he almost had me walk away but unfathomable with regards to customer service that he didn’t even offer to direct me to another uhaul that wasn’t “sold out.” I rented out of necessity today but this honestly left a sour taste in my mouth. Will likely take my services to independent mover moving forward

The app was not working for me so I tried to get help from the u haul employees but they were about to close for the day. They refused to help. I spent over two hours on the phone on hold with customer support and had to come back the next day to pick up my truck. I asked to speak with the general manger of the location and staff said they weren’t available. I left my name and number for him to reach out and I have yet to hear back from him. Probably won’t hear back from him. Poor customer service.
