Everyone is friendly and helpful and I barely visited my unit, knowing that it was secure. It’s nice and clean. I like having a unit inside of the facility building. Also when I rented the car trailer- a cheerful and capable young lady hooked the whole thing up to my pickup for me, and went through the safety check. My truck loading space smelled like diesel fuel - the cab was fine-When I opened the sliding door the smell was very heavy- I picked up an expensive mattress in SF. Now it smells like diesel fuel - That is f'd up- this should have been checked by the u-haul employee. Very unhappy !!!!Douglas H.

I lived in Oroville and had to pick up my truck in Chico then after loading, had to go back to Chico to pick up my car and dolly. I understand the Chico office is the main hub and all my equipment was in one location, that was great. Maybe, not include this mileage in the total miles driven. Delivery after initial pick up was very delayed. Was told 12-5p and I left at 7p. Was delivered sometime after that. Called office to find out if I was still on schedule for delivery. Pick up after emptying was on schedule. So biggest issue was with delivery of filled containers.Kevin F.

The communication at the facility was fair. But in all fairness, they were very busy. The explanation of how to enter the security code was not clear. There are two locations at the site. All this being said, they did their best to assist me. I think the confusion is that I reserved the space online and not at the desk. Making sure that the truck is been clean and sanitize is a great start there was used shampoo and body soap in the truck the windshield was so dirty could hardly see through it and there was a ton of mud on the outside of the truck. Also the AC was blowing warm and since I was driving it from California to Arizona where it is hot one would think a sea came in the truck working properly but not this truck. The local office was AMAZING! I made a (stupid) mistake and ended up locking my truck with a lock that I thought I had a key to... but didn't. After purchasing bolt cutters, which didn't work, and trying to locate a locksmith on a holiday weekend, I called the local office to see if they had anyone who could help. I ended up speaking with someone who was not in the actual office named Ira, told him what happened, and he made me feel like an idiot and told me there was nothing that they could do. So I drove down to the local office in tears but was greeted by a kind gentleman who was able to saw the lock off for me. For that, I am grateful and I wish I caught your name. Thank you for saving the day. And shame on you, Ira, for being unkind.Jennifer H.
I reserved a 6 x 10 enclosed trailer on Tuesday found out on Friday that location which I chose to pick up at didn't have one so I was told to go back to u-haul.com to find a 6 x 10 locally which I thought was pretty poor customer service so their resolution at the location I chose to pick it up at was to give me a 5 x 10 trailer which I thought at the time was gonna be OK when I went to pick the trailer up it was substantially smaller than the 6 x 12. Although they chose to charge me the price of a 6 x 12 overall I think the situation was handled in correctly and their customer service was very poorMatthew H.

We just received a call from Uhaul Chico again the customer service has been deplorable We when checking out at the counter when asked how long we needed the truck we responded a couple days but maybe we would call by 2pm are 24 hour deadline That seemed not to be an issue at the time of checkout yet Your employee called at 1:54 before we could ourselves/phone records will document Now we are to be charged 50 dollars I can show over 5 contracts in the last year When a verbal conversation with the Uhaul employee and us keeping the truck an extra day has never resulted in a 50 fine. Are online contract stated 24 hours with the stipulation that we would call before that deadline as agreed with employee at the desk Can you please look into this situation Thanks Michael AguiarMichael A.

The Chico, CA Office and the branch manager there was very helpful, courteous and professional, in which I will use this facility again. However, the phone number to get a hold of U-Haul’s customer service and/or to pay my monthly bill had very long wait times that lasted over an hour sometimes. U-haul needs to revamp their customer service line, in order to drastically reduce the wait time over the phone.George D. | Overall Experience

I rented a truck for two days. Just didn't know it was 48 hours on the dot. Got charged another day because I was a little after the 48 hour mark. Wish I was told how that when I got the truck the first day. Overall though the service was good.Brett U.
i have never rented a pickup truck before. but only being able to rent it for an 8 hour period is a joke. especially when i can only get it at 4:30 pm on a saturday . a 24 hour time would have been useful to me. as it was, I think i returned it in 5 hours because the other places i needed it for were closed.Paul H.

The 10' truck I rented had a horrible alignment, and steering the truck was very unsafe. Also, the brakes would shudder when braking around 50-65 mph.Darren G.

The customer service is absolutely horrible and nonexistent. I will never use this uhual again. Was never offered any discounts or refunds for any of my inconveniences, which were many, and caused hours and hours of delay in moving. Because of lack of organization and communication I had to rent two units instead of one, which were completely across the entire storage facility making it even more inconvenient when moving and organizing my items.Olivia F. | Overall Experience
The first I had was a rented cargo van totally dirty outside mud on lower half and inside both seats had long dog hair he said there was quarter tank of gas so I got in drive it down to first light smelling strong gas inside when the light and alarm told me I was low on gas stopped down at tower market on park and fair put 35.00 dollars in almost 9 galsdrove to old mall on east ave then home 1st ave west and tank was on saying I was empty. Next day got in van drove down towards the esplanade when the voice and alarm said i was low on gas. So i drove back to the uhaul place was told they just fix the gas leak will it wasnt fixed ask what they could do for me about the thirty five dollars I put in gas said I'll have to sendin that I did and what happen and I ended up with a 3/4 truck and everything was a lot better.is there anyway I can keep the truck tell mon could do hardly nothing the first two days with all the problems .please let me know thank you kathy toledo 5303212964 Toledo1932@gmail.comKATHY T. | First Impressions

I had reserved one of the indoor, climate control storage units on-line. When I went in to pay for the unit it turned out to be an outside one. Bronson said that there were supposed to be two units inside that were going to be emptied that day or the next and that he would keep my reservation open and call me as soon as they were available. I got a call that afternoon and was able to take care of the check in over the phone. I really appreciated the extra time that Bronson spent to make sure that I got a nice unit!
