The truck was old and has seen better days. It was painted all white and sounded horrible like there was a issue with the back axle. It got me moved but a better shape truck would have made it better. Also the full gauge was broken and didnt go above 1/4 tank. I checked, put 10 gallons of gas in it when i got it at 1/4 tank and it would not go above 1/4 mark.

The gentlemen working with I picked up the trailer were very friendly and helpful with putting the trailer on my car. I location is very close to my home and that is great. I brought the trailer back early and I wish I would get some money back. Especially since I rented to move a homeless family into their new starter home. :)

Fire(or at least retrain) your store manager. Uhaul’s nationwide rating appears to be 4.5. However, your Crystal Lake, IL store has a rating of 2.5. What does that tell you?

I rent from this location on average once or sometimes twice a month. Paul and his staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient. Yesterday, I arrived to pick up my van (in-store). The van was already parked in front running to warm up. Paul met me at the counter ready with information pulled up so I just had to insert credit card and be on my way. And when I returned in the afternoon, another employee met me in the parking lot and checked the van in while I unloaded into my car speeding up the return. I really appreciate that extra level of service. It makes my day and job go much more smoothly.

The last truck I rented was not very healthy to drive. Very uncomfortable as we had to deal with exhaust fumes going into the cab of truck the whole time. Had to drive with windows open just to be able to breathe without coughing.

The person who handled my truck rental was very rude and when I asked him questions, he told me that I could go somewhere else. Also I was overcharged and I feel I was ripped off. Very upsetting and I will never use Uhaul again!

Make the return after hours a bit less complicated. Greet your customers politely and speak them clearly and slowly, looking them in the eye rather than at the computer screen.

I had given an indication of how long I thought I would need the truck, but you never know how things will go, and had planned on 5pm when the location closed. When I picked up the truck I was surprised that I needed to have the truck back an hour before they closed because it was needed for another rental. I hustled with our move and luckily we made it back in time. But it threw me for a loop. Other than that I was very pleased with the entire experience.

Very nice and helpful. I expressed concern about the pick up experience and was told that Kiernan was indeed required to check my ID and go through the contract with me since we were doing it in person on the computer rather than me doing a mobile check out.

Would have received 5 stars, but the brakes made a lot of noise when they were applied harder than normal and the drivers door did not close all the way without slamming shut.

Eliminate the $20 fee for late night returns. The app is not reliable enough to be used to complete late-night returns. It is not customer-friendly to add $20 just because your app doesn't always work. I called the location to reverse this charge, but the agent there was unhelpful, and told me to call back on Monday. It is amazing that you cannot allow your agents the authority to refund $20.

I think you guys nailed! Very nice and easy transaction. Very pleased with the easy drop off process. Even when I dropped off after hours, all I had to do was to follow some really easy to navigate content. Nice to be able to send and view current photos of the equipment. Great job!

My biggest complaint is with your process / systems. If I call to ask if you have some rental available (e.g. a 5x8 trailer), you want my name, phone, etc ... seems really intrusive just to find out if you have it available. Also, you require 2 phone numbers, this seems a bit more intrusive than needed and I find it annoying (especially for repeat customers). I keep thinking of trying another rental place, since I view these as overly intrusive.
