The truck needs the latch on the large door replaced. It's old and corroded and very difficult to latch down once the truck is loaded. Otherwise, U Haul does a great job. Very happy. Keep the equipment repaired.Mike K.

I was impressed with U-Haul's referral system for moving help, especially because I was having trouble getting movers booked on my own. I was in a situation where I was moving between states and had one day to pack and transport all my furniture, art studio and personal items. U-Haul was able to quickly identify available moving companies in my area on the day/time frame I needed and recommend based on customer rating and price. I was initially nervous about paying U-Haul up front, having never used this service before, but it worked out well. I had access to payment codes and was instructed not to release them to the movers until the job was completed to my satisfaction; if it wasn't, I could get a full refund or put the money towards other movers. (All told, it was a little over $500, plus $30 for their trailer, which was less than half of what other moving companies were quoting me.) The first set of movers came from MyTee Movers. The manager and I spoke over the phone and she confirmed my appointment again via email. The gentlemen who showed up were incredibly thorough, careful, and also speedy. They checked with me throughout the load process to make sure I was satisfied with how my belongings were packed, that my furniture was wrapped and padded, and made absolutely full use of the trailer I rented. They also showed me how to unload a bulky piece of furniture that didn't fit under the threshold of the trailer, so I could tell the next set of movers how to get it out. The second set of movers came from VR Movers, who met me at my new home to unload my trailer and stage the furniture and items as directed. The manager confirmed with me over the phone and later over text prior to the appointment. The gentlemen who showed up were also thorough, careful and fast, and were also very personable. Overall, both sets of movers were excellent, and the combined ease of scheduling with U-Haul and satisfaction with their recommendations led to outstanding service on what would have otherwise been an incredibly expensive and stressful day. Rented a 6x12 trailer. Trailer was not attached properly at U-haul Crystal Lake location and came unhitched when going over railroad tracks. Trailer got stuck under our car and my husband had to use a car jack to jack car up to move trailer out from under car, while trying not to get hit by on coming traffic on the road. Called service # and took a long time to get through all the questions. They should have sent someone out IMMEDIATELY to assist, rather than having us answer a slew of questions that weren't a priority at that time...they could have asked the questions, after they helped get everything corrected with the trailer. Charge the actual amount of gas if gas level is low, not a $50 fee for $5 worth of gas. You should tell the customer there is a $50 fee for gas too low when they rent the vehicle. All they said was "we ask that you return the vehicle at the same fill level". And that also my license was denied and I was denied renting the truck; when the secretary of state has extended all expired licenses to be good through July 31'st. Luckily I had someone with me with a licence or I wouldn't have been able to move.Gino R.

When arriving the location was super super busy. However the store manager has it very well organized and was in and out with the trailer I needed in record time. I registered for the truck online a week before I arrived to pick it up. They had no record of my reservation in their system. In addition, I feel slighted that I have to provide my drivers license even though I have been renting two storage unites for the past 7 years. I think that if someone is renting space at that facility then the requirement to provide their driver's license should be waived.STEWART M.

There was a problem with the garage door opening. The manager phone number listed on the door was not available - called multiple times with no answer. I called the 800 Uhaul number and waited over 45 minutes. By this point I unloaded the Uhaul and had to drag all of my boxes from outside to the unit. I am not please with the customer service as there was no one to get a hold of. Will not be using again nor will I recommendedEfrain M.

Went in to figure out what was going on and why I didn't receive and confirmation the next day, all I saw was 5 associates, chatting. THERE WAS NO OTHER SOUL IN THE BUILDING. Unfortunately I lost the keys to my lock and UHaul was unable to help me get it open. Now I know you use someone because you remove locks when people fall behind in their monthly pau\yments so why couldn't that person be recommended. The dock is all the way on the opposite side of where my storage locker is. It would have been nice if there was access to that side of the building. A full 26' truck with 2 or 3 people takes hours to unload and walk back and forth. Plus it takes up 1 of only 2 spaces on the dock which denies others from its use.
