HORRIBLE!!! Had it reserved at Tallmadge Ave location 3 days in advance. The day of I received a text saying I had to pick up in Cuyahoga falls which caused me to incur 20 more miles over just picking up and dropping off. The staff was more interested in watchin the start of the footbal game than getting the equipment for me. There was an employee vapping at the couter while another was working with me. The truck was a block away in a far lot and was very dirty inside the cab. I had to return to the store to retrieve the blankets I ordered since they were not in the truck that was a block away. I did not notice until I got 20 minutes down the road and this caused an hour delay for my packing team. I have rented from this loction previously without issue.Mark L.

This was supposed to be a smooth transition across the country move for me and my family and Uhaul made it a complete nightmare. I called in and made reservations with a representative. She was very nice and pleasant. She suggested I get two containers just in case all of my things would not fit into one. I was quoted a price of 2300 for 2 containers, 2 trucks, shipping and 1 month storage. The only additional expenses were mileage taxes and fees. Upon picking up the first container the representative admitted he was unsure how to issue the containers to me. He reached out to someone else whom over speaker phone stated that she "hated dealing with the U-Box system because it is difficult and problematic." I obtain the first container loaded it and on the second day had one of my movers take it to the store to obtain box #2. He called me and alerted me it was a problem. The store manager proceeded to tell me I had to make another reservation. I stated it was fine as long as my quoted price was not changed. She than began to proceed to tell me that the $2300 was only for one container. Her rudeness and constant attempt to over talk me was beyond frustrating. I left my job and went to the store to show my original reservations and emails confirming #2 containers and the price that was given. She begin to say she would not assist me and I had to wait on corporate to contact me. I had to be out of my apartment that day and had Paid movers waiting for over 3 hours with no call from any. I then went to her asked to purchase a storage until things were resolved. As I noticed she was the store manager, she took a drag from her vape pen and told me she had nothing for me. I then asked to rent a truck where I had my movers move all my things back off the shipping container onto a truck while I had to find a storage unit and other means of shipping. This by far was the worst experience and I WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE OR RECOMMENED IT TO A SINGLE SOLE.VERSHAY H.

A lot of issues overall. I'll start with the mobile app/desktop. I originally booked the van for two full days and understood that since my card was used to reserve that I was prepaid, and the time to pick up with self-checkout was the earliest I could get the van. The mobile app was nonresponsive and did not indicate that my reservation was voided for being an hour late. I then only ended up booking for one day. Then online later, the desktop site would not work for â€œadding a driver â€œ simply nonresponsive when you click the button. I tried extending the reservation that day by one more day, and again, I couldn't do it; I called the local U-Haul dealer they told me it was because non were available and they would not allow me to extend the booking. The employee was very rude and callous and informed me I n to return the van that day or risk fines. I got off the phone, and the manager called me after and was complaining and demanding to bring the van back that day, even though I explained all the issues and how I would have still had the van if the original order didn't cancel on me, the manager was nasty and unhelpful. How to improve 1- Fix your site and app. There should be explicit error messages if you can't do something 2 - Fix add a driver button 3 - most importantly, get rid of the 60 min late policy, days are stressful, chaotic, and busy, and it's easy to be late for a pick due to many reasons, and having it on file should have guaranteed no issues since you can charge my card for the time. 4- Teach your managers and employees to be more helpful, considerate, and empathic or hire better.Marcus H.

Reserved a 5x8 trailer online to be picked up at the Streetsboro, Ohio location. One day prior received both a voicemail and text indicating that no 5x8 trailers were available and I would be getting a 6x12 at no additional charge but would have to be picked up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Proceeded to prepay online. The reservation indicated 6x12 but the pickup location was still Streetsboro, Ohio. Where do I pick this up? Streetsboro or Cuyahoga Falls? Called national number and they indicated the Cuyahoga Falls location, but they could not confirm that the price was not increased for the 6x12 and that I was getting it at the 5x8 price. Arrived at the Cuyahoga Falls location. Paperwork took unusually long (considering I completed all online prior to arriving) and when I backed up to the unit to have it hooked up, I was told that the unit was damaged and I could not take it. I was then told to take their only 5x8 unit. So I backed up to this unit and it was discovered that it had not previously serviced or maintained. Chains needed replaced, bulbs were burned out and sockets were completely missing. After spending a significant amount of time at this location, I was finally able to leave with the 5x8 unit.Joe T.

We originally requested a different location closer to our move site, Uhaul allowed us to book it online but then later called and changed the location which resulted in having to spend more money on mileage. Also, we reserved a dolly but were told when we arrived that they didn't have one and that a reservation is only a request for if they happen to have something available. The employees at the store were nice about it but it was frustrating to have to spend extra money and drive further after originally being able to book the truck for a closer location.Jill G.

I was disappointed that we were charged a small â€œover mileageâ€ fee. This would not have occurred had we been able to pick the truck up at the place I had initially requested. As it was, we picked it up 10 miles away, which then put us over our mileage. Because it wasn't a significant amount, I didn't complain, but I feel that if you can't deliver equipment at the specified place, it shouldn't count against the customer's mileage.William B.

I would have given U-Haul storage an excellent review But upon my move day on July 28, 2022 after having my belongings in there for two years and four months, as the movers were taking out my furniture and storage bins, I had black on numerous belongings, A number of the storage bin tops were covered in this black along with my antique cloak stand, my leather couch, the top of my dining room table, and a lampshade that was completely destroyed by the Black. I haven’t looked closely to all my belongings so I could find more as I start to unpack and look over my other furniture. I know it could have been worse but I paid the higher amount in the controlled climate storage units to keep my belongings safe from the elements. When I took pictures and showed Gabrielle she informed me that they worked on the roof over my storage unit. Being that moving days are always stressful, I did not put up a big stink about it at the time but Gabrielle did Give me the number of the insurance company that U-Haul uses. I will give them a call. I was told we could bring a picture of the ID of the person that was driving the truck, that they didn't have to be there. I called to confirm this, and was told this information a second time! The only employee on staff wouldn't acknowledge or respond when customers would speak to him, and walked/worked incredibly slow. But, he would do exactly what he was supposed to, even if he didn't acknowledge your presence, and would give you a receipt. You could use more help at the rental counter, there was only one person working at 9:00 am and she had four other customers after me. I hooked up the trailer by myself and had to waite for her to check it before I could leave.walt G.
Staff was late opening store and rude upon arrival. We'd ordered several dozen furniture pads with our rental truck weeks in advance; The store had one half dozen (6 pads TOTAL) available and basically let us know we were out of luck and could try other stores--exactlly what you have time to do when you are trying to load a 26 foot truck and move across the country. This is why I ORDERED them and PAID FOR THEM in advance. Truck had construction debris in it when we got it home and had clearly just been repaired--it smelled strongly of something like airplane glue. A huge gash in the side of the truck had been repaired and was not really ready for rental. The glue was still wet and the patch wasn't very strong. Really unacceptable and have never experienced this with U-Haul before.Cher H.
The length of time to talk to someone is horrible. When we picked up the vehicle it was not what we had ordered, the car hauler was bent and mangled and seemed unsafe. Our storage unit had a significant amount of rust like material that had fallen from the ceiling. We swept it out ourselves before placing our stuff inside. There were no trash receptacles in which to dump the sweepings. In all fairness to the attendant on duty, he was working solo and he tried to encourage me to accept a better unit. My experience was wonderful. Very easy and everyone was always so helpful! Super friendly and always willing to help with any questions. My only offer for feedback would be to check the facility for moisture control,and possibly carpenter bees? Upon cleanout, we noticed some mildew smell (and saw evidence on the AC tubes) and we had sawdust from something that resembled carpenter bees on some of our items. We were not upset in any way, it comes with an older building, but just wanted to let you know. All in all we would totally use this facility again and I have already recommended it to others. We paid $170 a month for an indoor temperature controlled unit. When we moved out this weekend many of our furniture items were damaged with rusty brown water stains. Pieces of furniture are ruined. The supervisor initially tried to double charge for the "first month free" wanting me to have the month of June as a no paying month. (pay two months upfront). However, I'm on a fixed income and could not arrange other bills accordingly. The store quoted me "$100.00" a month but in actuality the monthly cost is "$128.00." They refused to send me the appropriate invoice for payment the month of May until I filed a complaint. I have yet to receive an invoice for my "July 2021" payment.linda f. | First Impressions
This UHaul facility, in Cuyahoga Falls, made it easy to move. All of the employees are efficient and helpful. They treated me with respect. My only complaint was in the winter time my unit stunk like an old rubber belt burning and some of my items toward the top had dark brown grease looking drips on it. Nothing that couldn’t be wiped off, it just smelled awful.Kristin M. | Overall Experience

I only had my unit for 6 months and every single time I came to the unit my swipe card did not work even though I was told it would, It said I needed to be checked in so I would have to walk all the way around the building to the office where I originally got the unit and every single time no one was there. On my move out day June 1st 2021 my movers showed up at 9am and it was supposed to be open at 8am, I had to walk all the way down and around the building to find no one in the office again, I was very frustrated because I was paying the movers by the hour so it was wasting more of my time and money. I understand if they are understaffed but it is absolutely unacceptable for them to not have anyone supervising that desk when customers are coming in. I am very displeased with my experience and will not be using uhaul storage again.Jasmine P. |
