The vehicle did not have any of the added items we requested and the key lock was not where the online checkin said it would be. No one told us where to find the key. We just got lucky and figured it out. We secured a reservation for the truck online. And it was like a Seinfeld episode when we arrived to pick it up. The truck was not at the site where we reserved. The person working said â€¦.well you requested a truck but that does not assure you of a truck. That is not what my email confirm said. We were then told to call the 800 number. I suggest you do that and after 30 minutes of being on hold decide if you really think uhaul cares about customer service. We had to call the 800 number three times and had to wait over 30 minutes each time. We finally got a truck 30 hours after the original promised pick up time. At a pickup location that was a huge inconvenience. Finally, I want to share my favorite part. When we did get through to customer services the first time. They said it was one of the busiest moving weekends of the year and although we reserved a truck for May 29th she could not get one for us until Monday May 31.Zechariah M.

This was the worst experience I've ever had first when we get there we had to use a walkie talkies to reach the person suppose to be working and wait near ten minutes on her then my credit card was charged nearly three times the amount I was told and agreed to when I was confirming payment on the credit card machine then when you balance came thru and I seen it was drastic I called customer service waited anhour to speak to someone that couldn't tell me shit did the cashier need my money to go buy more drugs cause that's what she appeared to be onRachel A.
They forgot to put the dolly I reserved in the truck. I made the mistake of not checking to see if it was there. I would recommend a step on the check in app that has you check to see if additional things you reserved are in the truck. When I told them about the missing dolly when I returned the truck, they did take the $7.00 off my bill. But the next day I found out they charged me $8.10 for gas. However, I only drove the truck 4 miles. I called the customer service number and they took the gas charge off my bill (thanks to them)David W.

Got charged for fuel when it was basically identical to what I left with. Looks like they try to find any little thing to charge you for. GM finally refunded $30 fee otherwise it would have been one star. Guy at the desk was nice about everything. National number was horrible.CRAIG P.

Charged $80 for a 2 hour rental. Vehicle had a quarter tank of gas. Attendant was a little short tempered maybe because she was the only one working and trying to put away delivery. Brought back the vehicle early and cleaned! But in my opinion over charged for sure.Dennis B.

This has nothing to do with the location.. Just your website and process. I'm not using uhaul again. Your online reservation system is terrible.. first it bait-and-switched me.. I chose the location I wanted to pick up from, and the website changed the location without notifying me. I wasted a half an hour going to the location I chose only to find no one there. When I called another location, they said I already had a reservation there because the website "just kicks you to another location". This is probably exacerbated by all the suggested sales the website forces me through to complete the transaction. Because there are so damn many of them, I just tune out to anything on the website. Then when I got to the place, I had to provide photos of my drivers license, trip distance (I had no idea), emergency contacts etc.. this was extremely a pain in the ass because I was already late as a result of the location bait-and-switch. Why the hell would you not just have me provide all this information on the website when I initially made the reservation?! Anyway, I'm done with this. In the future I'm going to use Penske or homedepot/menards rentals.JESSE C.

I travel to three different U-Haul location just Do you realize I was driving all over town for no reasonâ€¦ It was significantly difficult to get a hold of anyone who could help him when I didn't get a hold of anyone they were rude and snobbyâ€¦ I was also over charge and no one seems to be able to explain why am I charge was so high enough that I am absolutely Appalled by the way I was treated and seriously disappointedSAMUAL W.
I ordered a drop off at North Illinois. I had confirmation of this location. When we picked up the truck, they told us 86th street for drop off but we "could try North Illinois location". This is not acceptable. The second location was much farther away. I do not understand how it got changed.David K.
We were not able to check the return in electronically. Could not get our location accepted. Also no one available on the chat or phone after hours. The uhaul had no oil in it and the motor started knocking. I could not finish moving and when I tried calling to explain my girlfriend had a seizure and I could not return the truck on time, the customer service representative said they could just report it stolen. The worst part about this experience was the website, the app, the reservation being changed without my knowledge at the English store due to store hours and confusing 24/7 option or not. I scheduled pickup for 730am and received confirmation of such. Then the day before the time changed to 9am and I was told they were not open until then. So I panicked and had to cancel and reserve another site much further away. Then the app didn't work properly. I was so frustrated that I was late that I was unkind to your desk person. I'm hoping we can find another service that works well with in-town truck rental for picking up and delivery food for a minimum of 2 hours every Thursday.EVE K.

The lights in the halls would turn off about 5 minutes and it would be difficult to get t g em to come back on from the unit you would have to walk all the way down the hall and around the corner just to get them to come back on. I was called and left a message that there might be a problem with my storage. At that time I was out of the country. I called and spoke to a guy at Uhaul about the message, he said, " there may be a problem with your unit, we need you to come in and take a look at it. I told him I was out of the country and would come in when I returned. He just said ok, he never said that my unit had water leaking in it. When I returned I went to Uhaul to see that it was a bucket catching water outside of my unit and water running from under the door out onto the outside floor. Upon raising the door there was water and mildew everywhere. All of my mother things were ruined ( she had died a year before I rented the unit). Her dresser was ruined and mildew, her tables she left me. Photo albums were ruined, her hats were gone. This is still so emotional for me and has put me in a state of depression to know I can never have these things back. Then the slap in the face, was the claim. I could not get any kind of value on things that were old (antique) the albums could not be replaced. I received nothing for a lifetime that was lost. I would never give any money to Uhaul or recommend them to anyone I know.freda b. | Overall Experience
