My assigned Uhaul rental was inaccurate , causing me to have to reappear and complete a new Uhaul rental application process the first rental had me down for a van and also my last name totally not correct Ellis . My last name is Howlett. I wanted the ten foot truck for 1bed room or studio move . My impression is an unprofessional experience. But the Uhaul employees I encountered were upright professional workers. At this location. The drop location was decent. Thank you anyway for providing service for my adventureâ€¦.warren H.

The cab did not appear to have been wiped clean or anything like that, certainly not sanitized. There were some crumbs in the cup holders, etc. Would have been reassuring to at least smell the residue of some cleaning products. I reserved a 15' truck and was charged the price of a 15' ft truck for a 10'ft truck. When I expressed my concern about the price and size of the truck, I was shrugged off by the employee handling my reservation. When the truck wouldn't work, I returned the truck promptly to that location and was told by intake that I would not charged for the truck due to returning and picking up the correct truck from a different location. I asked for confirmation and was told again, I would not be charged for the truck and would be emailed a receipt. I am now being charged and have filed a dispute with my bank and will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and alert the media about this situation, highlighting the frequent complains I've now heard about U-Haul and their practices. I am requesting compensation for the truck and for the many inconveniences experienced on 9/4/22.Jaleesa M.

Reserved Unit (size) not available, experienced counter help neglectful & it took over 30 minutes to reserve 2 smaller units WITH NO $ consideration. Furthermore, only units available are restricted to Office Hours Design flaw: cart to ramp & rate of incline ( both unnecessary & created hardship). Rental drop offs parked 4 deep on-line preventing access to the 1 (one I tell you!) off loading parkings space & 2 adjacent contained a Usual truck & trailer. Attendants non- responsive to a question after 40 minutes! Put me up against closing time. Can not recommend. The only complaint I have is that the person that took my reservation (off-site customer service) gave me incorrect information. I specifically asked if I was able to use a credit card that didn't have my name on it (company card) and she said it was fine. But when I got to the location I was told otherwise. Luckily, my company allows for personal reimbursements but I was upset over the incorrect information given to me previously.Michelle T.

The customer service over the phone was POOR. Representative DEE at the location in (Gardena) wasn't friendly. She sounded tired and dry over the phone and she NEVER gave me a reservation number which made it hard to get a truck I requested. My information I gave her wasn't even in the system when I called back about service. She did take my card information but was negligent in completing the process to help me stated someone would called but did not receive a call. We went into the office to rent the Uhaul the customer service in person was just as bad. She had a bad attitude and gave us a hard time; her team member offered his assistance to help so that we could get a truck and she was even rude and disrespectful to him in front of customers. Im glad his response was professional. She DOESN'T need to be in customer service. Her attitude needs to be left at HOME when serving paying customers. Her presentation of Uhaul company is bad. She needs to be spoken to about her behavior on how she should properly handle herself & customers. She lacks professionalism, etiquette self control and respect for the company customers and team members. I will not do business at that location. The Hispanic lady working was terribly rude. She kept shaking her head at me and showing me signs of disrespect. I asked her co worker if he noticed it and he told me yes so I wasn't the only one. I also needed two vehicles and she said she had an extra vehicle to get me to take the first one then told me they didn't have the second. I'll never use uhaul again after this experience. After waiting a half hour In line I was told I couldn't rent a truck .. 5 minutes later i was able to reserve one online at the same exact location. Walked back in; waited another 45 minutes to get to the front of the line just for the guy to completely ignore me and call another guy behind me to the front for a return that took forever. Finally got helped by a woman and given the truck.. Seemed like no one wanted to do their job , I'm not sure what the difference was? Later when I came to return there was an OVERFLOW of trucks parked that I couldn't even get into the lot & had to park on the street hoping they wouldn't charge (luckily they didn't) but this place seems very lazy aside from one of the guys outside who helped me verify that I did in fact reserve a truck and was super nice. The two + hours I wasted to get the truck screwed my pickup times up for furniture that I'll have to rent again to waste another $100+ on another rental & gas. Do better guys, we're all hurting here, the least you can do is be helpful and mindful to the customersâ€¦ it's free.Victoria A.
I had a scheduled pick up at 5am on 7/31/22 I arrived at 5:30 am to find nobody there to assist me and a truck no contactless pickup. I returned back at 8:30am to find the manager on the grounds, I began to explain to her the issue and she gave me the RUDEST attitude!! She then walked away from me, walking into the building and locking it although I told her I had a 5am pick up and she disregarded that. I motioned with my phone on the glass and she could see me and she refused to help me at all and told me to come back at 9!!! I returned at 9:15 to a uhaul filled with people ! I had to wait in line a hour and a half to get a truck ! The gentlemen at the desk were so patient and kind but they were being OVERWORKED !!!! the manager was nowhere to be found! I WILL NEVER EVER USE UHUAL AGAIN! I will happily go and grab a hertz rental for my needs. That manager and what I experienced was not acceptable at all. One person would tell us to park the car in one place, and another would come over with an attitude saying we were parking in the wrong spot. Everything about this rental went exceptionally well, unlike a rental which I had a week earlier at the Agoura Hills location. A few days before my rental date, I called to verify a few pieces of information about street parking and other details. The manager, Maria Cash, couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. I made a reservation a day before, at 9:30, and I arrived at the office at 9:20 to pick up my truck. I have received a key around 10:20 after a long wait, and supervisor told me I have to bring the car before 11:30, and I asked why do I only have an hour when my reservation was for 2 hour, and its facilitys problem that I got my car over an hour after my initial reservation time. Whn I finally received the car, side mirror just fell off as soon as I stepped on the accel. I had to talk to another employee for a breif moment to fix that and to prove that such problem of the car is not our fault. I was able to start the car less than hour before my reservation time ended, while my initial reservation time was 9:30-11:30. time my car was ready to go was near 10:40. Ensure your customer reps have a good attitude. I arrive there to pick up my truck and I asked if I could exchange it for a van the young lady seem to be in a bad mood inform me no I could not have one because they were already reserved. Her demeanor was not inviting crowded it was early in the morning. She asked for my card and for my drivers license and then proceeded to toss it across the counter for me to take a picture of the front and the back of my drivers license. I didn't like her attitude at all. If I didn't need the truck I would have cancelled the reservation. She seemed tired she rested her head on her hand and just continued to process the reservation. I went to pick up the truck the gentleman was kind and walked me through the inspection . Upon my return the same gentle man was kind and considerate. I told him about the young lady he said she received a bad phonecall. I choose my battles and I didn't want to get in a bad mood because she was not nice. If you're not able to provide appropriate customer service or just in a bad mood then don't show up for work or just come in when you're in a better mood . After going in an out of the storage unit every day for a week, I got to know a few of the staff members - Bruno, Brian and a Latino gentleman, who were helpful and friendly. I felt safe having them around when I left late at night and was happy they were there. The facility elevator was the slowest ever but I was happy that it was working while I was there. This was by far my worst moving experience and one that could have been avoided/made less stressful with clearer communication and assistance. I chose this location based on the U-Haul website upon searching for a specific climate-controlled storage space. This location showed as having only 1 left, so I called the 1-800 number immediately and made the reservation for it, noting that we needed a truck as well, referencing the one-month free. Upon arrival during moving day (where we then had to take the rest of our stuff with us on a two-hour drive), I noted the deal to the staff member who flat out said it would not be honored as it didn't apply to our rental (even though we verified everything over the phone). Not only that but our rate was different than what we were quoted, even though I had a confirmation e-mail with our reservation and rate. This all seemed suspicious but we had to get going with the move, so I resigned to having to deal with it the next day over the phone. I was then given my key card and tried to get to our storage room. Our key card didn't work (the rep told me it takes a few minutes -- but it ended up not working the whole time). When we got to our floor, it was hot and damp (clearly not climate controlled) and the storage did not match what we saw online. Instead of private rooms, they storage areas were cages where you could see everything inside AND the chain linked fences had openings in them. I looked at the receipt the staff member printed out for me and it said "No Climate". At this point, it was a comedy of errors. I went back down and even the staff member said this was all wrong but there was nothing she could do. We finished our move, reluctantly leaving our stuff in a cage without climate control (luckily we sold our refrigerator last minute the day before, otherwise it would be in there now). As directed, I called the GM the next day to try and have this amended somehow. Though Yolanda verified that we actually did qualify for the one month free, there was nothing that could be done about the change in reservation. Apparently, even though you reserve ahead of time -- it is still on a first come, first serve basis IN PERSON (which makes no sense, why would you show on your website that you only have "1 left" when making a reservation; that implies you are snatching up the last available spot for that specific category you checked off during your search -- in our case, climate control). Yolanda apparently honored our initial rate with a monthly discount to match (though we have yet to receive email confirmation) and now have to wait and see if a climate controlled room opens up, which we then can only confirm in person. A move is stressful already and was only made more so by a flawed reservation system and lackluster staff that, while friendly, failed to make things right during our move. I would not recommend this storage facility (or U-Haul for that matter) to anyone.Eddie M. | First Impressions
