I was over 1.8 miles and charged .79 cents. Really? And here I was worried about returning the truck with a full tank of gas.

Where do I begin? Originally had a truck reserved in Chatsworth to the point a day and a half before the pick up I received confirmation. I get a call at 3pm the day before my 8am pickup that my truck was broken. My first response was asking then where do I get a truck. The woman at the local franchisee, who barely speaks English insists she can do nothing with the reservation and it is up to me to find a new truck. In under 24 hour notice. I insist it is on her to call to find an alternative and again she can and will do nothing to fix the scenario even as I explain that I am literally boxing items. She said she will call back. Never did and can prove with phone records. I call the regional hub I'm Van Nuts as is in the reservation issue. Now, I am a bit miffed that it took me calling them to fix up the mistake on the behalf of Uhaul. The man, I never got a name, hung up. Call back, pick up and hung up. Call yet again, get a lovely lady (probably black so you can narrow down ) whose name I forget and hears me out and tries to fix the issue. It's easier to get a location closer to my new apartment soon we book it out of the location just out of DTLA vs the valley and she helps even though it requires coordinating w another district. Again, she is the only one to help me. Pick up the truck at the new location. And oh boy. It's beat to hell including a huge gash through a layer of siding that made me glad that I live in socal and thus had no rain concerns. That truck was a deathtrap. The steering wheel and column had about 10-20 degree give where it was unresponsive and made it almost impossible to not over correct. The transmission started making horrific noises at highway speed to the point I thought it was about to die. The brakes screeched.... Probably particle issues but you know, one of those things you deal with because it can cover up actual issues. When I bring the vehicle back, I point out these things as 2 of these were definite dangers and the other was possibly. The folks running the office get defensive making excuses for the transmission going out as part of towing (no, I know what a bad transmission sounds like even though I am female) and also was not towing a vehicle or had a nearly packed truck. Less than half and only because it was the smallest option with a ramp. The brakes were examined as "mine so that all the time and the mechanic says it's okay" she needs a new mechanic because again, if it is not a problem you should clean the area out and avoid it disguising other issues - mechanics 101 I WA taught from the age of 4 or 5. The guy says he's going to go drive it right there as if daring to prove me wrong. As though I should stick around. I didn't ask for anything, just pointing out it is dangerous and needs to be attended to. I get the defense of how the gent running the place tends to the vehicles himself. Well, then you fail. You will never, ever get my money again and frankl

Truck was in a decent condition overal. To be picky the bottom of the cup holders were filthy. They even looked wet and slimy.

Yolanda was awesome and very friendly. Great service all around.

Really nice people.

It's not in the best area in LA which is fine...but when I dropped off my van after hours it did not register that I had a van in my name online and I ended up needing to call and spend significant more time at the lot figuring out how to return the van without the extra next day charges. I guess if you are dropping the truck off after hours make sure that it registers online before you get there.

Truck was very old and beat up but it provided the transportation needed

On previous rentals the allotted time between Los Angeles, CA and Taylor, TX is five days. For what ever reason this time that was not applicable and subsequently as a consequence I was charged a late fee for arriving within the five days but over the allotted four days provided. I find this reprehensible and will contact U Hual Management for final resolution.

Excellent and efficient customer service both at the counter and outside at vehicle pick up/drop off. It didn't look like the storage portion of the vehicle was clean inside due to a clump of twigs I found later (the interior wasn't screened during initial damage inspection). But, the customer service was so good that I'm mentioning this as something to look out for, not as a complaint.

There should be more person in charge for the check in/out of vehicle. When we were there, there was only 1 person handling everything all by himself. It's seems overwhelming thus many costumers had to wait for not only renting the vehicles but also returning.

To small too tight. One way in and out. Will never drop off here again

Non of the checkin equipment worked so the process took a full 30 minutes once a we got to the front of the line. Since nothing was working the lady at the desk ended up wanting us to check in on my personal phone but she did it herself on my phone. Already I don't like handing strangers my phone but on top of that she was pretty sick and coughing and handling it. Then the lady at the vans didn't even say a word to us just took the form and checked the van herself. It was very dismissive and rude. The van itself was in bad condition when we got it. Lots of dings and scratches and the interior was messed up too.

Yolanda and Ismael are always great at providing customer service. I've been coming to this location once a month for almost a year now to rent a truck and those two are always great. Yolanda mentioned they had some new employees today. Alma meet me by the truck pick up area with a blank expression and holding her hand out. Just grabbed my keys and walked away to get the truck. Not a hi, hello, nothing. I even initiated conversation and not a beep from her. Maybe she was overwhelmed but simple human interaction is all I expect. Later to drop off the truck I waited by the truck for about 5 minutes and finally decided to go inside to see about returning the truck. Normally an employee is always waiting. One slightly bad experience after countless others is just a small bump. To next month.

The man who helped us with fixing our trailer hitch was amazing. My box was broken and we worked through it and I couldn't have figured it out without his help.

I am always very happy to go to this location, as rent trucks often to move art. Yolanda keeps a very organized and tight ship.

The service attendant helping us check out was very rude and unhelpful.

It was a good first experience with Uhual. I don't plan on moving again anytime soon since it's ALOT of work. However, in the future I will use uhaul again it saved me so much time and money.

It was a bad experience having to pay both insurance and extension charges when it was not explained from the pick up location. The drop off location was nothing nice about explaining too. It was my first time using u haul service which could have been highly rated if it was explained well and not just those stores who would just say nothing but ask for your payment.
