First trailer had issues with the receiver hitch. Surge brakes didn't work 9n the one I ended up using. Also didn't have a dolly available.

When I arrived my equipment was not ready, the transporter was not there. Staff would not help me figure out where to get the transporter, I had to call for help. Truck was dirty, windshield had hard water spots on it that the wipers would not clean. Was sent 20 miles for a transporter and all they had was a dolly. Went back with the dolly to pick up my vehicle and staff was unwilling to provide guidance because I did not get it from them. I reserved a transport over a month prior so I did not have to drag my vehicle 600 miles on a dolly. The unwillingness to help in any way was quite disappointing.

Very slow process to get your rental. Don’t be in a hurry. Could take up to a half hour to finally get on the road. They don’t go over any features of vehicle or how to operate things such as simple as to how to turn on light in box of truck. I dread going to this location but it is the largest and usually has the biggest selection. Just plan ahead and leave more than enough time.

How tall are per mile, and then the amount of fuel I was charged for just 24 miles, was something like $14. I use the online pick up and drop off, and nowhere did it say I should add fuel to the truck. I will never use who U-Haul again. Nor will I recommend it to anyone. Total scam.

Had a great experience. I'm handicap and the young guy who helped me was absolutely amazing. He carried things for me and recognized my disability and really worked hard to make me feel comfortable and have a good experience and I will definitely be be back mainly because of this young guys helpfulness. The only downside to my uhaul rental experience is that it takes too long to get processed when picking up my rental. I had to wait a half hour to get my trailer as the time behind the counter processing customers takes too long...and it was a short 2-person line. Unfortunately, this has happened often enough that I do no longer expect an efficient processing of my rental upon pickup. When I am on a tight schedule this is very inconvenient.

When I say it was not clean I just mean that there was a little bit of mud on the fenders, which was not a problem for me, but because the check out procedure wants you to verify that it's clean and without damage I let the U Haul employee know. He told me that would not be a problem and I would not be bother by them because of it, so it was all good.

Yes except for old man that was at the desk. Would I get out of his chair for nothing he was really lazy to be honest with you. I’m kind of disrespectful kind of rude. I’ve got family that works there. I told him that he did not offer me any type of discount, I brought it to his attention. He said nothing about it. We don’t we don’t I don’t know. Talk about his exact words over I was OK with the equipment and the rental the customer service part of it at the front desk. I brought a paper that was printed off from the computer with all the information and the confirmation number everything it took me still an hour at the front desk to get my motorcycle rental trailer and out the door that’s a little ridiculous and my book but every business is very differently

Was not able to complete the self-return process.  Got back as one guy was locking the door and key boxes.  He ignored me like he had blinders on.Another guy paid only enough attention to tell me not to park where I pulled in, then continued moving trucks while I tried to check in. Instructions for self-check in are poor.  The code on the truck wouldn't scan.  I called the 800 line for help. After a few minutes, someone picked up, but immediatelytransferred me to a line with at least a 20-minute wait.  I gave up and dropped the key in the box and left. I've been happy with support at the North-Madison location.  Not very happy with people at the Atlas St. location.

Took over 45 min to get my Uhaul. Two people in front of me. Everyone had pre checked on thief app. The old man with cane at register saw no reason at all to get people into uhauls. He made us go find the guy checking uhauls in tell him to check in the Uhaul and get back in line! He made a guy wanting propane wait take next customer. And when the lady with her autistic son and husband waiting outside it was my turn to check in he kept staring out the window at them losing focus. I had to politely ask him to proceed. I'm sure great guy but zero interest in my time being valuable. He made me 30 min late to an even where I sell three items a minute. 90x6 is $540 lost!!! AND I had to pay my additional driver to run and get my Uhaul later from the lot because it wasn't ready and we were losing money as we stood there.

Price, assessability, and helpfulness were so wonderful. Every time I had to come in and get some boxes someone (without asking) carried them out to my car. I really appreciate this because I recently had back surgery. I have been a repeat customer of U-Haul for years. We have another rental truck and help coming up in a week, we will always come back. I made a storage unit reservation in May of 2024. When I came for my reservation in July with my confirmation and reservation number they told me "this Uhaul does not honor online reservations" and my reservation was not reserved. NOWHERE on the website does it say that this Uhaul does not honor online reservations and the employee said it was simply general manager preference. The employee was able to look up and see online when and what storage unit i reserved, they simply just gave it away. I would highly recommend not using this storage unit and should have taken its 2 star review more seriously.

Definitely not a safe place to store anything. Mahmet was constantly spying on me, and talking to people who would call him inquiring about the private and personal contents of my luggage. And, he was quick to sell my personal items by the second month when I had to receive a new credit card from out of state. He lacked the courtesy and patience of a true professional. I had to wait for a new credit debit card because the original debit card had a breach on it. I contacted , Mahmet via telephone and email to explain this situation. Afterwards, he bugged me incessantly ! for up to 7 to 10 business days - alot of calls and emails every day all day! He obviously deals with a great deal of criminal minded people. He was horrible. I had to wait for a new card with a new account number. I never felt safe on his property. Get a better owner. Everything was paid in full for every month I had the storage unit. I reported via telephone to a staff person once I vacated on April 20, 2024. My last payment was for April 12th, 2024. I always paid my rental bill at least a week to two weeks in advance, even up to the last payment required made before the April also due on the 12th of each month. Thanks,Tracy. Storage unit #200. Also cleaned before I left.

I was shocked by the way I was treated. The accusations the way things were taken from me like access to my own storage. They put a lock on my storage they gave me limited access for things that were made up and even part of what I did there saying that they would give me warning you for these things and nothing if there's no warning they just shut me off I had one worrying in the very beginning for having things left outside my unit and I cleaned that up immediately and it didn't happen again all the other accusations made against me we're fabricated and not true. I did not even finish a full month there I couldn't wait to get out

The staff is not very helpful they just told me where the universe at to go look at it myself if I like it I could take it and that was it nothing was explained to me otherwise since then I've been harassed about things that I did wrong and my girlfriend was there helping me sort through a lot of my belongings because I have things that are need to throw away and things I'm trying to keep and the staff for raster probation there without me being there and that she was the one doing in the ground there and she was very uncomfortable. My access card does not work. Sometimes have to swipe it five or six times to get it to work. And it's not 24 hours like other people's are I know for a fact that there is 24-hour access cards and I don't have one when I asked one of the staff to take to get me that you took my card and did something to it handed it back and said it should be good now and it's not.

An incident occurred where I owed 3 months for a storage unit. I was sent an email saying my unit was going into auction. I was ok with that. Then I get a phone call saying we can work out and agreement and you can pick up your items. Next thing I know I get a receipt from U-Haul showing they charged my WIFES card the full amount over $330 without any notice or anything. That card was not on autopay ever so it shouldn’t have been charged at all. My wife and I are extremely upset. It feel like fraud. No one gave consent to charge the card at all. I will be pulling my items out of this unit and never coming back again. This had out my family in a tough place right before the holidays. This happened to me at the Madison East location 22 atlas ct. The GM was not very helpful In fact he said there’s nothing he can do to change this. I even offered to make a agreement but instead I was charged the full balance!

There was a small leak in the middle of the ceiling that destroyed some of my LP covers and items but not enough to cause me a great deal of financial loss. Told the staff about the leak so it could be repaired before new tenants use the storage space.

When I arrived in the store there was no one in the store I yelled out hello several times and even walked back by break room and yelled hello but no response this was for a several minutes. I then went outside and yelled is anybody working here in this store? And went back in and then I went back out and the gentleman was coming in and said he finishing up something. When the agent was trying to move me to a bigger unit it the computer kept throwing him out of system 3 times so it took a while. Then another guy showed up and he took over and got me into a bigger unit. He also said it came with a lock. Then the other guy said since I had another key on my U-Haul I should have a lock on the door and should be able to lock as I was leaving it over night to unload on Saturday. I went to lock it and there was no lock on the U-Haul and the lock that I was given did not work. I went back in the store and told them this and was told the lock was for storage and then I would have to buy a lock. The gentleman that first helped me told the other guy shouldn’t she get a discount on the lock she is buying? And the other guy said she got the lock for the storage. So I paid full price for that lock but then I got to thinking the second guy originally said the storage came with the lock. So I should have gotten a discount or free because I had to wait and literally yell outside for someone to come in. But really I should get October rent for free now that I think about it. Thank god I am a patient person. Just imagine if I was someone who goes nuts over a few minutes they would have gone ballistic!!!!

I reserved a climate controlled storage unit as part of a truck rental. When I arrived to unload, my reserved and confirmed storage unit was not available. I was informed that units were given out on a first come first served basis. I was offered a non climate controlled unit that was insect infested, rusty, and damp. I would not pay any amount for that unit and only took it because the first month was free and had no other options. Apparently reservations are not honored by uhaul. I will be moving my possessions to a different facility that offers climate controlled units as soon as possible.

I am very disappointed that I was asked when I got the locker that they needed one of my keys. Well now they don’t require that anymore but yet I was not told or contacted so that I was able to receive my spare key and now after all this time approximately 10 years I am told they don’t have it. I am extremely disappointed and very upset. I would like to be reimbursed for my lock. Or have U-Haul pay for another key to be made. Any questions feel free to contact me. Thank you 608-658-5635.

Dustin did a wonderful job and would definitely recommend using their storage facilities. The rest of the staff were also very helpful and will return for any of our moving needs.

Originally had a reservation at another storage place, but their manager was MIA & wasn’t responding to calls. So I made reservation at U Haul and it worked right away. The manager of the other place still hasn’t called me back, and I’ve already moved everything into the UHaul storage

I spent an extra 45 minutes because the staff checking me in couldn't get the gate to work. Turns out he didn't turn on the computer with the program opened. Seems kind of basic? Definitely frustrating. Then today, someone called my sister first asking about my storage unit and if I had moved out. I had literally moved in the day before. When I called back, they had the wrong unit number for me. People don't seem to know everything and aren't on the same page? There also didn't seem to be enough people to help, there were people waiting a long time when I was checking in. Friendly people and want to help, just don't seem to know how maybe.

It would be nice if storage was pro-rated when moving out. If you are moving and go one day past, you are charged for entire month.
