Only one person on staff at 4pm for a check-in. Waited in line for 30 minutes. Was only pointed to the general direction of where the truck was, looked all over lot to finally find it. Truck was incredibly banged up with major dents and scratches. Truck never started on the first key turn, always took multiple key turns to start. Check engine and oil lights were on when I got the truck. After loading the truck, I come to realize the padlock is broken so the truck will not lock.Blake K.

The rental agreement was for 9/10 - 9/12. My move went better than anticipated, dropped the trailer off on 9/10 @ 3:30p. I asked for the return receipt to be emailed to me. I received a $20.21 fee for after hours drop off. I've tried to call them numerous times, keep getting put on hold for 45 mins to 1+ hrs every time, I disconnected. Tried calling the UHaul 800 number and same, finally got a cust service rep, explained the situation, they were going to follow up with the location. It's been over a week and have not heard from anyone. It's impossible to get any issues resolved.russ L.
The uhaul engine light was on a drove not so well. I had troubles with getting checked in at 8:00am to pick up. Uhaul worker could not explain why and I had to wait until 9:00 am to pick up when place was open. Waited an hour in the parking lot. Wasnt even asked if I wanted it an extra hour since I had difficulties. Then had to pay $20 for them to verify when I was trying to check in my equipment myself and it wasn't working since it was saying it couldn't verify my place of drop off. Even though I had location enabled and was at the correct location. Called customer service for help and was on hold for almost 40 minutes before I hung up because I wasn't getting anyone.Abigail D.

When I made my reservation over the phone, I asked about returning the trailer when the store was closed. I was told "just go to the site." I asked again when we picked it up and got the same answer. So we thought no problem, easy peasy. So we dropped it off after a very long day of moving at 9pm and started the process on my phone in the car on the way home. Low and behold, YOU HAVE TO BE AT THE STORE TO FOLLOW THE PROCESS. This is a very important detail that was not shared either time I discussed returning the trailer after hours. We had to turn around and add another 30 min. to our trip in order to complete the process. This detail should be disclosed when people query about returning after hours.Kenneth K.

The big problem is with Fedex I think. This the second time uhaul has had problems getting the hitch in time. Fortunately Brian did and outstanding job of following up with me (and keeping me from wasting 4 hours of driving-much appreciated) and Fedex. He did a great job installing the hitch as well! We received two options for returning the trailer in Dallas. Neither location accepted trailers so we ended up driving all over before we finally wised up and called around until we found a location that took trailers. Epic failure on the tail end of an otherwise great experience.PAUL V.

I have rented from U-Haul numerous times over the years. I swept the cargo area prior to returning, swept out the inside of cab and insured there was no trash remaining in the vehicle. I was charged a $25 cleaning fee, first time ever had that happen. Don't know if it was pandemic related or not.Gregory S.

With regard to the after hours on-line check in: after a long hard day of moving, I returned the equipment to the location, however when trying to check the equipment in online, the system would not work. I repeatedly â€œallowed â€œ U-Haul to share my location but the system would not move forward. I had to call a National number, at which the first REO said I'd have to hold for someone else. This is 10pm and after holding for over 20 minutes, I hung up and called back. That rep checked me in immediately. Why couldn't the 1st rep have done that instead of transferring me and telling me to hold? I was tired, hungry a d ready to go home. Took 1/2 an hour total to get checked in once I arrived at the location. Not ideal a d also not the first time I've had issues with the online check in.ANDREW S.
I scheduled with the uhaul rep a time of 9 to 5 for van usage. After waiting in line an hour I found out they changed it to 3. The brakes and shocks were going out in the uhaul, as well the air conditioning didn't work. No dolly to rent but plenty to buyâ€¦also refusal of a one way trip was quite troubling.Jeremie T.
Phone Call: Good customer service on the phone call. However, the update to the pickup time and the extra day added to the rental was either not entered correctly or misunderstood by the other employees. Location: Girl at the front was very stand offish and struggled with the reservation in the computer. I told her what I told the gal over the phone, that I needed an extra day on the rental and was not going to return until Monday. I got a curt phone call voice message at 12pm (after 24 hours) saying that the truck was due back at 11am and I needed to return the truck immediately since there was a family waiting for it. This confused me since I told two people I needed an extra day. I tried calling back but could get an actual person. Since I was in the middle of moving, after twenty minutes, I gave up trying to call back. I don't know if it was where I picked up that made the mistake, the gal I talked to over the phone or the return location but the miscommunication was not on my end. I did not appreciate the fact that a miscommunication and curt call caused me even more stress on an already stressful day.VALERIE W.

Over all things are good. How ever there needs to be more help on staff. Having customers wait 20 to 30 plus minutes in line is not good. The location I went to,had only 2 men doing everything . They where working very hard, but they definitely need extra help to make things go smoothly for them and the customers. Once I was attended to, the service was great and they where friendly. The space is great and security is great. Largest complaint is it was under staffed both times and staff seemed as if they didn’t care if they got to you in a timely manner. I had to wait in line for an hour (2nd in line) while other staff members were outside and walking around. On second trip over I saw cockroaches running around, and on my final pick up I saw mouse droppings all over the place. I sprayed cockroach killer each visit and did see mouse traps the last time in the units that the doors were opened, but I will never leave my stuff here again for fear of what I will bring back to my house. I had my stuff here for 4 months and after 2 months the rate went up by $40 a month (about 50%) and no one ever told me that was going to happen, and since I have auto pay, it blindsided me, I was told that was the new rate. My experience was not necessarily a positive one, but I feel the staff and the manager made every effort to assist me. It feels as though they may be very short-staffed, which is stressful for both staff and customers. I had an exceedingly long wait on multiple occasions prior to my move-in, and noticed that some people walked out, unable to make their purchases. To their credit, the staff remain friendly, professional and helpful so I feel they are doing the best they can under difficult circumstances. I had to pay additional charges from the trucking company that moved me due to the long wait to get checked in. There is some type of construction taking place at this time in the storage area, so I found there is dust in the air. Someone was smoking in the storage area and I am hoping that it is not something that continues as I do not want our belongings to smell like cigarette smoke.
