This location refused to deliver the U-Box. Then we made arrangements day and time to unload on-site. We were shown the box deep in a warehouse and left alone with carts to fill and roll all the way out to the parking lot to load into our truck. They did not even move the U-Box to a convenient location for unloading. We set this up three weeks before and every step of the transaction U-Haul dropped the ball. Not delivering on the day arranged. Then informing us once the box was in the destination location they would not deliver. At that point to be told when arriving to unload, made to wait to even assisted. Then to be told the forklift driver had already gone so unloading could only happen in a dark warehouse in 90+ degrees outside. Worst service ever. The fork lift driver in Maryland was great wonderful and left us with the greatest confidence. After that U-Haul made no effort and biggest debacle ever!!! But definitely took our money although did not honor their side of the agreement with us.Ellen K.

I requested a 10' truck with my call-in reservation, however was sent an email confirmation for a van. After initially waiting 10 minutes upon arrival (with no other customers inside), I indicated to the Eastgate manager that was not going to work. I was then told I could have a truck until 12noon. I wasn't asked by the manager if I wanted insurance, it just defaulted to that choice on the customer screen. I clicked â€œno insuranceâ€ 3 separate times, however it would not proceed to the next screen unless I allowed the $14 insurance. I returned the truck earlier than 12noon (11:15am), only to be inconvenienced with miscommunication between the manager and the Uhaul check-in attendant. I overheard the manager indicate â€œthat was her last day workingâ€, best decision for herself and Uhaul customers.trina K.

I was overcharged for this unit. I rented out space and my items was only there for 2days or 3 days tops than I gather everything up and moved into my new home… I continue to receive calls months from the manager. After me telling the manager the unit was empty I was charged for at least 3months of rent while not even occupying the space. One way truck rental includes free storage for one month, once we arrive with a 20ft truck full with 3bdr worth of inventory , the storage they offered was the size of a small closet. The reservation and pickup process was fine. However, the truck we rented had trouble starting. It would turn over and quit the first few times the key was turned. This happened with every time we had to start it. I was worried that one of the times it would not start and we would be stuck. When I returned it to the place I was told, nobody came out for a very long time. When I finally went into the store to see about the return, three people were sitting behind the counter, no customers, and said, "Oh, are you out there?" Someone should have come out. When I reported to the rep that the truck had not been wanting to start up well, he said, "Yeah, we knew that was going on with this one." Google said this location was closed but when I went there it was most definitely fully open and I was able to do my transaction inside. Tell others that if you are dropping off after hours that they will need to have the U-Haul app installed on their phone in order to bring the truck back. Also tell the customer where the location is for the after hours key drop off. I had to walk up and down the building before finally finding the slot to put the key. Also when I went to the storage end something smelt AWFUL like death/rotten I honestly gagged walking past both times. Other than that my experience was great.Raymond D.
The 6x12 cargo trailer was fine, though the last user didn't sweep it out well. But it worked great for us to move things in ONE day that we thought it would take 2 forâ€¦so we were able to turn it in early! Went in to get rental the lady was very unprofessional. I had to argue with her about my rental due to the time and what size truck I rented. Of course the size truck I rented wasn't available. First of all, i didn't move in! They accidentally moved me out of their system. The worst ! Location personnel only call when they want to get paid.. I have called this facility many many times and they route the calls to the national call center. They then call me that Location personnel will call me back. It never happened. They finally call back after the auto pay was cancelled for a storage that I moved out from....which I was calling them about for two weeks. There's more to the story .....Surprisingly.. I received a call whitin a day or two because they accidentally turned off the auto pay from My second storage that I still have over there...asking me for my credit card!...very incompetent ! Worst experience ever with your rude people. Tried to call a million times but every phone call was floated to national phone. I was told that the manager was going to return my call. Even regional promised that I was going to be called. I left two messages with manager...no return call. They finally called me because I removed the automatic payment. They tagged my storage ready to be rented on March 14 before I even got a chance to clean and closed it myself. They won't prorated my rent when they chose to tag my unit. I was informed in the emails and texts I received that there would be a lock in the storage unit so I could lock it up once I finished unloading. There was no such thing so I had to go hunting for a lock around town. Not convenient for me, nor was it honest in the communication about the unit. I moved out two days into the pay cycle, most companies would refund a pro-rated balance but not uhaul. While the facility and the personnel were nice the corporate policies should be reviewed to be more customer oriented. I’m extremely disappointed that this U-haul had advertised online that you got one month free of storage if you rented a truck from them only to find out that is a lie. I only picked u-haul storage because online it stated you got one month free with a u-haul truck rental. I spoke to the gentleman that rented me my storage unit and truck about it when I returned the truck and he said ”oh we’re not doing that promotion anymore. I used this facility for a full year and did not experience anything but first class service. The climate control and cleanliness of all areas (including restrooms) is outstanding. The area set aside to leave/pickup unwanted items is an added bonus. In addition to the helpful staff, what I probably liked most was the ability to pull my vehicle inside, out of the weather, to load/unload. Should the situation arise in the future where I am in need of extra storage, I will definitely use this location again and highly recommend them to others. I would like to recognize the GM Pam of the Indianapolis East Washington Street location for extraordinary service and effort in helping me through several issues with finding the right storage unit. I rented a 26ft. truck and upon return the gentleman was not friendly because we arrived 15 minutes prior to close. He made sure I knew he was not happy to stay a few minutes over.
