There was no dolly in the back and I informed the young lady at the desk. She said she would make sure she takes the charge off. When I went to return it after hours I was still charged for it. The person who checked me out was not very nice. The uhaul was in rough condition, with paint peeling on the outside and a huge crack in the windshield. It also STANK, like urine and who knows what else - made for an unpleasant 14 hour journey. There were nails spilled in the back of the truck too. Just a generally not so great experience.Maria D.

Nothing against the location but I had to drive over an hour each way to pick up a one-way trailer. Nearly two and a half hours round trip in addition to my already 10 hour drive is ridiculous. Hire someone to transfer equipment between locations a day or two before scheduled pick up or over some sort of discount for the inconvenience. 15 minutes before my pick up appointment I called the customer service and I told them I will be late a little bit they told me the car already with mesince morning and I was like no that's not true when I went there I spoke with someone from the Store he told me yes the car you have it and I was like Noway that's not true and my appointment at 2 PM and then they found out they gave it to somebody else under my last name which is bullshit after 45 minutes waiting no one knows what's this to do I I had a lot of things to do for my moving makes me late one hourBavel L.

The terms were not made clear enough. I did not understand till later I had the vehicle for a whole day and the only additional charge was per mile. The clerk talked too fast and engaged in too much joking around with his co-workers.Edmond B.
Checking out the van was very slow. There were two people in front of us and it took about a half hour to get in and out of the store. Once through that line, it took another 15 minutes to find the van--it wasn't where we were told it was--and get the blankets we ordered. Staff were dysfunctional; they didn't have a clear and shared understanding of where equipment was. There was no sense of urgency to help us. The experience overall was confusing and slow. The van exterior was dirty when we picked it up. The checkout app was a pain to use. I tried to go back to a prior screen because I missed where to enter the existence of a scratch, and the app hung up, so I wasn't able to enter the scratch properly. I opted to move forward rather than getting help because I knew it would take too long to get help from a person. When we brought the van back, checking it in was easy with the staff who were there to greet us.Anna M.

I rent the size 15 truck for 10 miles and I used it for 12 miles and return the truck they charged me at the pick up location $59.85 I refilled a gas $22.41 and use just 2 mile Extra and they take $28.93 more for 2 miles extra. At the pick up spot the gas that they show on the lease wasn't the right cash that on the truck plus driver side doors the black strip tape from inside what is dragging out front bumper at the lower it's crack and I pick up the truck at the day time it wasn't dark yet so I do not need to turn on the truck headlight the signal was working without turning on the headlight As soon as it becomes dark outside then I had to turn on the headlight everything working normal except for the right time signal wasn't working at all I was having a very difficult time since the right side signal doesn't workIsmail M.

The Elevator has been broken in the self storage For months, and every time I ask about when it will be fixed the staff have no answers. The lack of attention to fixing broken infrastructure has cost me personally 150 dollars and who know how much to other renters. fix this asap or I'm never using uhaul again and won't recommend it to anyoneEjaz A.

The truck was in excellent condition. After driving to the loading location (only 2.1 miles), I noticed that the fuel gauge showed 3/4 full. The contract stated the tank was full, so I called U-Haul in Evanston to correct it, but I could not get anyone on the phone for 40 minutes. They just put me on hold time after time and never picked up. Finally I got through to Lily at the Evanston, Illinois U-Haul store. Lily insisted she "could not correct the contract because an hour had passed." I noted the long wait and bieing put on hold. She acknowledged it, but did not much care. "It's the end of the month," she told me, as though that explained it perfectly, and continued to refuse to correct the problem because "an hour had passed." She did not care that I offered to send a photo of the gas gauge at 3/4 and of the mileage at 2.1 miles. She did not care that I rent regularly from U-Haul. Lily could not have cared less, but she did finally give me her manager's number (Martel). After two calls to reach Martel, he asked that I send the pictures and then fixed the issue promptly. Martel handled the issue properly and he should continue to be employed by your organization.Gregory P.

The truck is on its last leg, very dangerous to drive with a very loose steering wheel. I got charged an extra $81 and change for gas that I didn't use or returned the truck as when I picked it up (have pictures). I was misled or not informed of the drop off instructions. I had an incident with one of your employees. I came to start unloading my storage unit and there are supposed to be 4 parking spaces available for paying customers, but those spaces were filled with trucks. I started to park on the opposite side and was told under no circumstance could I park there. When I questioned it I was told that I would have to park on the street. However, when I first got to my location, there a man, half dressed, passed out in the unit near the one I would soon use. That was pretty scary. I gave an average rating because when I first rented I thought it automatically came with insurance not knowing. There was a disaster and I lost a lot. Lesson learned. After getting over that, and no other choice for the remainder of my items things went smooth and the storage facility turned out to be one of the best places to have my things at. However, beware! The only problem I had with this shopping Evanston is that they didn't have any lockers. Which is not their faults apparently a lot of people have a lot of storage.
