uhaul ripped me off for $20 claiming off hours returnnwhike i was out the counter at 10am to return snd was told just leave the keys. I will dispute tge charge. waiting 30 minutes on phone to resolve snd getting bounced is outrageous. otherwise things were fine. i will dispute the charges unless my $20 are refunded as already requested and ignored.David C.
Returned trailer. Went inside and told gentleman behind counter I was returning a trailer. He said okay and told me to park it by the other trailers and then I could leave. He said he would check it out later. I left without receiving any paperwork stating I returned the trailer. I took numerous pictures so that he couldn't say there was any damage.ROBERT W L.
The people working there are extremely nice. However hitch was not present on installation date set a week earlier. Attempts to contact the Farmingdale (route 110) facility by phone to get an ETA were unsuccessful. Called their number several times and after waiting on the phone for 20 minutes it went to corporate who were not helpful. the hitch was finally installed 5 days after original appt date.James N.

I came in early on Saturday morning, Karliil Barnes was amazing as he managed to check in the equipment returned from the night before while serving each customer (sometimes two at a time) waiting in line until a second team member came on to help. Please people should be cleared from the system once you return your rental. Up until now (24h later), I have not been cleared from returning the uhaul. I called several times, each time whomever that answers the call sends a message to the location I picked up the van. Nobody called me, nobody sent a text/email. People should take their job seriously and do it well.EMEKAJ E.
Location had the supplies and vehicles but I was forced to take a different vehicle from my reservation. The service staff were very slow to set up my reservation despite me attempting to use the contactless option. Additionally, the truck I was provided was quite larger than I requested despite numerous other trucks on the lot. Overall, I will not be using U-Haul in the future for moving.CHRISTOPHERTHOMA B.

Employee "Joe" is the bright light at this location. He is attentive, professional and very customer service oriented. The manager (name starts with a "K", I can't remember) is rude, unprofessional and generally unfriendly. He is not customer service friendly or oriented and should not be engaged with customers. Each time I interactive with the manager, it was problematic and frustrating. However, with Joe, I have not had any issues. In fact, as the CEO of my company, I would hire Joe as a front line customer service employee. If I had my way, I would fire the manager and the other staff for incompetence. Lastly, on my last visit, there were two employees behind the counter on September 2nd around 2 PM. They were a African American Male and an African American Female. They were casually talking when the male (I think his name is Reginald or a name that starts with "R", said he had just received his first vaccine shot. He was not wearing a mask and was coughing behind the counter. This is unacceptable that a manager would allow an unvaccinated employees to interact with customers without any face covering. This creates unlimited liability for the company and is a public health issue that violates CDC recommendations. Lastly, when I checked the motorcycle trailer I rented, the tire pressure in the left tire was 15psi!! The right tire was 40 PSI! Recommended PSI on the tire was 65 psi cold. I was towing an expensive Goldwing motorcycle and was shocked that this location would release this vehicle without checking the tire pressure. I believe this is a clear example of management incompetence at this location which creates liability for the company. The management's incompetence can create damages for the company a tire blew out on the trailer and destroyed one of my motorcycles.Joseph J.

The store was to open at 8am on Sunday. My reservation was for 8:30am. Finally at 10:15 a worker showed up. I didn't get out till 11am. I had movers sitting around doing nothing, but getting paid. The supplies I ordered were not in stock. I would never rent anything from this location EVER AGAIN!JAMESD H.
I had reserved a truck for 24/7 pick up. I arrived at the store at 5AM to pick up truck the keys were not there (I called the store several times to ensure everything was set up). I was dropped off so I had no where to go so I had to stay in the parking lot till they opened at 8AM. The major issue was no one showed up till close to 10AM (with me and 15-20 people waiting outside the store). I called several time and no one was willing to help me. The store manger only gave one 1 day free which I thought was very cheap and unfair. I had to pay my movers from 6Am to 10 AM with nothing to do at $180 an hour. I was extremely disappointed with U-Haul and I would be extremely surprised if I ever use this service again.patrick F.

Waited 30 minutes to get my reservation because two employees were trying to a family a one way truck to Carolina without a reservation. When returning the truck I got charged for dollies and pass when I didn't use any. I rent out weekly for uhaul and hate when I have to come here. Emailed kahlil 3 times for him to review extra charges and he kept pushing me off and now won't respond.ALEXANDERGABRIEL M.
The store opened two hours late (8am opening, employee did not show up until 10am). The truck I rented had NO FUEL in it (Low Fuel Light was on). When I opened the back of the truck, it was filled with dirt, dust, bricks, rocks, and empty water bottles. When returning the truck, none of this was verified by the employee, who was working alone and overwhelmed. I was charged a cleaning fee and not compensated for the any of the these inconveniences at all.William R.
I reserved the equipment for 8am and had paid task rabbits, by the hour to pick it up, drive to my location and move my apartment out. The first employee at this location did not show up until after 9:30am. I lost over an hour and a half of pay for the employees, missed my time slot for moving out of my apartment, and almost missed having movers all together. The employee who arrived extremely late was not apologetic and could care less that over 20 people were waiting for hours. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had and will never rent from your company again.Ronald B.
Hire competent people and encourage accountability throughout your staff structure. It's a bad look when a manager has to open the store 2.5 hours late because an employee didn't show and then makes excuses for that employee who has a history of not showing up to open.Andreas C.

I have a big problem with the app. Please for Christ sake, simplify the app. I spent hours yesterday trying to return online and still failed. It's a terrible. I am charged extra for not returning it yesterday.EMEKAJ E.

Although unit was "broom clean", the seats were loaded with dog hair, and the inside of the van absolutely reeked from cigarette smoke and some foul odor, maybe from a dog. Had I not used it for simple storage for a day, and needed to transport items, I would have returned it immediately. The manager that you have at that facility is top notch with customer service the man went above and beyond to get me out with a hitch he actually drove to New Jersey to pick up the hitch and back so I can get it today that was the only hitch from my car within three state radius very pleasant and very reputable by the way his name is Carlisle and it's the Farmingdale storeLouis M.

Horrible experience. Read the notes on the rental agreement and that only tells a small part of the disaster. Highlights. Pickup location changed without notification. Pick up scheduled for 9:00am and the new location didn't open until noon. The new location never opened that day. Uhaul was downgraded without notification and wouldn't fit a queen mattress. Called numerous times put on hold and disconnected. Took driving 200miles and over 6 hours to get the uhaul. Unbelievableâ€¦. I will be looking at ways to get a full refund.Glenn S.

When I received my truck the gas gauge was below 1/2. I filled the tank to the same spot that I received it at and then was charged $11 for additional fuel. I also was told the pick the truck up at one location and when I arrived the app told me the truck was at another location that I had to go to costing me valuable time at pick up.Richard S.

The person who was supposed to open the store at 8am never showed up. I arrived on time for a 9am reservation, only to find a crowd of angry customers waiting. I didn't get my vehicle until 10am. Self checkout via the app wasn't even possible because the vehicles were boxed in. The man who eventually showed up to open up shop was very professional and patient (this was not his fault). I have rented from this location several times in the past with no issue, but this was a disappointment which likely messed up many people's travel plans.Alexander M.

The girl that helped me was very nice, but I had a truck reserved in advance and I heard her tell another employee that the only truck available for me had to be sent out for service and wasn't available. He went to check it and then came back and said it was okay to drive. I could barely get it over 30mph with my foot to the floor. There was clearly an engine/transmission issue, but I had to get the move done that day on a time crunch so there was no turning back. It was not a stable driving experience. It would be nice if the employees made sure they have safe available equipment when a reservation is made far in advance. Also pretty sure the guy that took the key from me when I returned the truck was sleeping before I walked in. Customer service could be way better.Stephen L.
Communication and reassurance that the employees are familiar with their jobs! When it comes to customers moving their personal belongings and very heavy items! My experience was very unsatisfactory. I reserved a 10' truck bu phone explained what I was moving to the representative. That I was moving a refrigerator that was a side by side. In addition to that a an appliance dolly would be needed. Picked up the truck mentioned to the young lady that I needed a appliance dolly. The young lady let me know she would have to check the truck to make sure there was one in the truck. That didn't happen! I got to the location to pick up my refrigerator. Opened the back of the uhaul truck there was no dolly! So I tried calling the location I picked the uhaul truck up not knowing my call would be automatically go to the. Customer service call line where I never got to speak to anyone. After waiting to someone for an 1/2 hour so i could try and make arrangements to get the dolly that was much needed. Them it was realized the truck didn't have a pull out ramp. Where the refrigerator could be rolled up on and down off the truck! This was a nightmare how do you move your property without these 2 prime items?? Now I'm frustrated, myself, my husband had to struggle with getting this 1000 lbs thing on the uhaul was terrible. Trying to get the refrigerator off the uhaul truck was worse!!!! I'm 5' 2" trying to help my husband and another person to get this thing off the truck .we were so exhausted at this time. With NO appliance dolly had to leave my refrigerator outside. I knew there was no way to get the refrigerator up the 4 steps!!! So up until now my refrigerator is still sitting outside. All because the store rental clerk who I believe was nee didn't follow through on her job. I know things happen but this is unacceptable!!! I have no way of getting my refrigerator in my apartment without paying a minimum of $400 +. I am requesting uhaul give me credit for the entire amount of the rental. It's going to cost me hundreds of dollars to get help with moving my refrigerator from outside to inside. Because my husband travels for work and will not be available for another week. I paid all this money for the refrigerator that's at risk of getting damaged from the weather severe rain and heat! Mind you, the customer service rep was not help! After briefly explaining what happened. All she could say to me was. So your looking to rent a dolly? I am more pissed at this point. I had to let the customer service rep know the customer service is horrible. She didn't care but she did let me know the 10' trucks do not have a pull out ramp. I was lost for words..So I commented to the person I was speaking to. How do people move their heavy items off the truck that has has not pull out ramp? People are moving heavy stuff off the truck.. I knew I wasn't getting anywhere with this phone conversation and ended the call. After I got Khalil's District Managers name. I am requesting a full refund of the rental, and gas I was charged. Or I will take this further of the small amount of money I was charged. The principal at hand is what matters. I'm believe and concerned this is something that is consistently taking place. Leaving people with minimal things to move with no recourse. But to hire a moving company to move appliance's etc. that the average person couldn't move. To have to come out of pocket hundreds of dollars to hire a moving company. Who charges at a minimum of $147 per hour and a travel fee of $99 depending on your location. Your phone system sucks. I waited an hour to check on the wearabouts of the back ordered hitch. Nobody called to say it's being installed that Saturday morning. The installer was the best. Good clean job, friendly, the only part of the experience that was good.Robert S.

The representative at the Farmingdale site were phenomenal they came up against a problem with the computer system that crashed prior to me getting there but they found a way around it and got me out of there immediately I recommend this location to anybody who needs good service In the same vehicle to rentALFREDJ G.
The agent who assisted me with the process was great. The wait time was overwhelming although I scheduled on line. It’s extremely hot inside so these aren’t temp regulated units. Plus the gate can’t stay open so if you’re moving a lot in and out, that will be annoying as you have to keep swiping your access card. Great customer service in farmingdale, but when I arrive in plano to drop off a trailer for uhaul the female staff was very rude and the first thing to said was delivery hours are over and looked like she just wanted to leave I arrive at the plano tx facility at 430pm and they closed closed at 500pm I was dropping off a trailer for uhaul that I picked up in the bronx new york. The manager disappeared and you had one girl who was inexperienced to help quite a few people. She said she couldn't give us a key to use the storage but when she finished with the line of people she would open it for us. Essentially we rented a storage area but couldn,t use it. Everone was complaining and talking about never using you again. I was furious . Where was MR Ryan Nedd. So many other problems occurred. I was furious and exhausted I want you to know I never complain because of many reasons. Worried about the potential damage it could cause Maybe I don't understand what was really happenning.
