The rental process was easy especially being able to reserve online. I was worried a truck wouldn't be available, despite my reservation, but to my relief, it was! The staff was friendly and capable. The guy at the counter was hardly any help, barley talked, asked us for our information and completely spelt are names wrong even though we spelt them out for him. Take care of mileage discrepancies on the spot. I was told I had to go online even though the truck hadn't even left the lot yet which I did and I was still charged for the bogus miles. Now I have to go dispute it in person.Julie D.

I used the local uhaul in Groton ct and we had some hiccups along the way but that's with anything. I had to go in to the location because trying to call is a nightmare. I found this super inconvenient. But the manager there was so helpful and kind. Very professional and made sure I had what I needed.Rose D.

Quick run down of rented vehicle would help make those who have never driven one a little more comfortable I think before getting on the road. Asked if I wanted bags or a dolly and I declined, but I found both of them in the cargo area. I guess they are always there and if you actually use them you get charged. Was not clear. Location was good and the staff are awesome. The call center was a nightmare and my order got messed up multiple times but being at the location saved my opinions uhaul. I wouldn't have ever used again if they hadn't cleared it all up so easily and pleasantly.MARK A.

I wasn't told that the pick up truck I rented wouldn't be available and was given a van. The dump charges double if loads are brought in by van. I had to rent a pickup truck for another day to do the dump run costing more.JOHN C.
The truck started with less gas than it said when I called to tell them, was on hold forever didn't have time to wait. I do understand now I should have checked when I got into the truck, being my first time renting I didn't think I was responsible to check. Was my mistake on that part. Great place for environmentally controlled storage. We had a number of items from an estate we needed to keep in a controlled environment until they were ready for the house they were going to. Shorter wait time when calling would be a great improvement. Also I called the 1-800-go-u-haul to inform that I return trailer, furniture dolly, and 6 blankets. I mentioned that I did not use blankets and was told I would be credited. However, the receipt does not show refund for blankets.DAVID P.
Pro-rating should be available with regards to monthly bills/move-in/out dates. For instance I rented a unit all winter, including the first week of May. Even though I vacated the unit in early May, U_Haul kept my full payment for the whole month. I feel I should have been refunded for the unused time as it would be immediately available to the next customer. The employee on-duty at the time that we moved in, Alicia, was so incredibly helpful to us and I cannot express how thankful we are that she went above and beyond to make sure that we were able to get our storage units, return our rental equipment, and unload all of our belongings quickly and efficiently. Since then everyone we’ve encountered has been courteous, professional, and extremely helpful. Great staff and facility! The alarm system is a little finicky, though. Was there twice this week. On Wednesday 9/9 and on Saturday 9/12. On Wednesday when I arrived very early at the opening of the facility...the man that opened it was very kind and helpful. He answered all my questions and made me feel better by his courtesy and answers. The move for me (from NC to CT by myself was a traumatic move, unexpected, expensive, stressful and intense taking three months total of work. ) on Saturday when I came in to pay and/sign up for the storage units (two units 10 X 10 and side by side the man that helped me didn't speak. He was quite different from the man that had helped me on Wednesday. The man on Wednesday was white and his name started with a "D". The man on Saturday was African American and was tall and thin. He did a good job and showed me how to use the key card, how and where to enter the building (the building was 3 stories) and then how to take the elevator and location of the two side by side units. Then showed me how to exit the building and key out. He did a good job at accomplishing the job actions, but he would not speak, smile, respond or say anything. He was good at his job but just would have been more helpful if he spoke. I tried to engage in some light conversation as he walked with me to show me to the unit but you couldn't get him to say a word. He answered questions about the storage unit, etc. It just would of been a bit more nicer if he had been like the other man and tried to speak. It would of helped me feel less awkward. Otherwise he did a very thorough job. Was clear with instructions, with showing me how to do everything and making sure I understood and could do everything. Even called the number & no response. The next day I go into explain what happened there wasn’t much of an “I care”. Not only did I have to unload by myself, I had to do so in the rain.
