Update your app or have a better after hours call system. I tried using the app to return my truck and would not accept the photo. I used 3 different phones to try and add the photo and not one worked. The when I called I was on hold for over an hour and the chat did not work either. Your advertising is deceptive and consumer hostile. I realize it is a common trick to say $19.95/day and hide the details in fine print saying "plus fees and mileage" somewhere, but I ended up paying $67 dollars for a day of use on one of your vans. Overall, I don't think that is a bad price but it makes me really angry as a customer that I was expecting to pay $19.95 for the whole day and ended up paying three times that for only a few hours, in the end. Just give me a more accurate estimate of the cost in your ads and I would be less angry about paying that amount.Sean G.

When I arrived, neither of the people are the register acknowledged me. It was like I was a burden on their day. Then, the truck I was assigned was essentially blocked in by two other trucks. It took me 30 minutes to get the truck out of that spot. When I get in the truck. It is on empty, even though the paperwork said it was supposed to be at half a tank. The person at the register (who i again have to seemingly bother with my presence) tells me to just bring it back at a quarter tank and that I would get $28 or so as a fuel credit. When I return the truck nobody came out to help even though the sign asks people go stay in their car. Eventually I walk in to get help and someone takes my keys and says â€œyou're goodâ€. I ask whether I could get a receipt and about the fuel credit. He says that I'll get an email with the receipt later and it will have a $25-$28 fuel credit. Great. Turns out I got a $9 fuel credit even though I paid double that for the gas. Worst moving experience I have had moving and I have moved about 8 times in the last 7 years (I'm in the military). Absolutely horrible experience. Do not recommend at all!!! After paying over 2k to have my boxes moves and rent a truck, we gave a 24+ hour notice (per the contract) to have access to our boxes which the manager at the Groton, CT said the messages don't go to him. Which on their website says it goes to â€œfacility managerâ€. So our boxes weren't ready and the staff was very reluctant to get my boxes out since they weren't easy to get out. But that's their job?!?! The manger Ryan Baron preceded to tell me I was supposed to call his personal cell phone if I couldn't get through on the company number or store number! Seriously his personal cell phone?!? That's ridiculous to tell a customer that when they also don't have access to someone's personal cell number! A customer shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get in contact with someone. That's why we ended up submitting the request online under the account info where it says to! So then Ryan Baron tells me he is short staffed, has a storage leak, blah blah blah and can't get my boxes until probably the end of the day! I'm moving today! Not willing to wait until the end of the day (it was 11:30am at this point). But he can't make any promises. Meanwhile, the other guy working there pulled out a box for another customer and loaded it into his trailer. Seriously this was the worst customer experience I've ever had. Then I called uhaul and they said they spoke to Ryan and my boxes should be out by 3pm and Ryan himself told me he'd call me along with uhaul told me he'd call me. He never called! So I showed back up to the location at 3:30 and my boxes are just sitting there, and you know what! Ryan Baron went home for that freaking day. Seriously?!? The absolute worst. I normally go to a self storage place to get a trailer, but this time I went to an actual U-Haul location. I was very impressed. The employees were very helpful attaching and detaching the trailer. Normally Im on my own. :)ALLAN Z.
Every time I've used this location it has been understaffed. Each time there was a young black man ( with long dread locks) there who was literally doing EVERYTHING!!! From dealing with customers at the counter to doing all the yard work. My recommendation would be give this man a raise first of all and secondly get more people working there. When I picked up the trailer he was by himself dealing with everything including training a new employee. There was 6 people at the counter and no One looked pleased but we all understood what he was going through. He was very polite and very professional. It was my only option as they didn't have anything else on the lot and I was told â€œyou can take it or leave it.â€ The staff was adequate enough but the state and availability of their equipment is poor. The two gentlemen who helped me were very polite and guided me through the process. Great employees!!! I was happy that there was a bathroom after i dropped one of my boxes that had soy sauce in it and it broke. I had to take everything out if the box and clean it up. Thanks to the staff. I used the local uhaul in Groton ct and we had some hiccups along the way but that's with anything. I had to go in to the location because trying to call is a nightmare. Quick run down of rented vehicle would help make those who have never driven one a little more comfortable I think before getting on the road. Asked if I wanted bags or a dolly and I declined, but I found both of them in the cargo area. I guess they are always there and if you actually use them you get charged. Was not clear. Pro-rating should be available with regards to monthly bills/move-in/out dates. For instance I rented a unit all winter, including the first week of May. Even though I vacated the unit in early May, U_Haul kept my full payment for the whole month. I feel I should have been refunded for the unused time as it would be immediately available to the next customer. The employee on-duty at the time that we moved in, Alicia, was so incredibly helpful to us and I cannot express how thankful we are that she went above and beyond to make sure that we were able to get our storage units, return our rental equipment, and unload all of our belongings quickly and efficiently. Great staff and facility! Mike was an amazing help for our move. He even stayed a little past his time to allow us to unload our truck. Since then everyone we’ve encountered has been courteous, professional, and extremely helpful. Great staff and facility! The alarm system is a little finicky, though. Was there twice this week. On Wednesday 9/9 and on Saturday 9/12. On Wednesday when I arrived very early at the opening of the facility...the man that opened it was very kind and helpful. He answered all my questions and made me feel better by his courtesy and answers. The move for me (from NC to CT by myself was a traumatic move, unexpected, expensive, stressful and intense taking three months total of work. ) on Saturday when I came in to pay and/sign up for the storage units (two units 10 X 10 and side by side the man that helped me didn't speak. He was quite different from the man that had helped me on Wednesday. The man on Wednesday was white and his name started with a "D". The man on Saturday was African American and was tall and thin. He did a good job and showed me how to use the key card, how and where to enter the building (the building was 3 stories) and then how to take the elevator and location of the two side by side units. Then showed me how to exit the building and key out. He did a good job at accomplishing the job actions, but he would not speak, smile, respond or say anything. He was good at his job but just would have been more helpful if he spoke. I tried to engage in some light conversation as he walked with me to show me to the unit but you couldn't get him to say a word. He answered questions about the storage unit, etc. It just would of been a bit more nicer if he had been like the other man and tried to speak. It would of helped me feel less awkward. Otherwise he did a very thorough job. Was clear with instructions, with showing me how to do everything and making sure I understood and could do everything.
