The vehicle goes into "tow mode" automatically (apparently). It was not at all obvious that clicking on the end of the gear shift would remove tow mode. I had to come back to the store to ask how to remove it - the worker was fine about explaining it, but it would be helpful to know this in advance.JANE F.

I wasn't able to make my reservation successfully online but the person who answered the phone when I called was very helpful. I had trouble checking in online but the desk personnel was also helpful. A tire needed air and I couldn't get the warning for an open passenger door to go off. The Truck was filled with an infestation of roaches. We loaded the truck overnight for a next day event. Opened the truck the very next morning and their were roaches everywhere. Had to go to Home Depot and buy the insect bombers and drop 5 in the back of the truck as I was afraid of transporting the roaches. The infestation seemed behind the wood in the truck.DONAVON L.

Frustrating that uhaul plays the game of redirecting you to where they want you to go. Actions of a petty company, not interested in customer service. Don't have other locations if you will change to this one after making the reservation AND PLANS! The only reason I used uhaul (after ten years of Budget) was Budget was booked. So disappointed with the check-in. Reserved for less than 4 hours, guy charged me (put hold On my card for double the amount that I was finally charged. He charged me for a 24 he rental. I got a run around by them they didn't have my truck for me on Saturday then I mad a reservation on Monday called at 12pm and told me truck would be there had to hire babysitter and leave work early to just get there and have no truck there for me so then I make another reservation for Tuesday and same thing no truck no phone call wasn't till I called them and then had to go get the truck in another location where the assistant manger from the first location said I would beget a discount witch I didn't I have call in to customer service to get my money back not only did they wast my time but I had to pay full price and pay extra money for babysitter and Louth extra in the tank cause the guy I got the truck from said I wouldNICHOLAS P.

Originally I was scheduled for Friday pickup at 5:30 pm at the Wallingford Church Street location (Redemption Center), When I arrived at 5:20 pm, I learned that the Redemption Center location is closed on Fridays and that there was nobody there to process my pickup. I immediately called the UHaul customer assistance phone number and was on hold for 20 minutes. Finally, when a UHaul representative answered the phone, she somehow managed to disconnect the call after I quickly explained my issue. I now had to call the UHaul customer assistance phone number again and waited another 15 minutes to be connected with a representative. She was very helpful and empathetic with my dissatisfaction and inability to pickup my truck at the Wallingford location. She provided me with an option to pickup a truck in the Hamden UHaul location for which I agreed to do so. All went well with the pickup process in Hamden. Unfortunately, I lost 2 hours Friday night which was time that I had planned to load the truck and had solicited assistance from 4 friends and family members to assist with loading. As a result, I had to load the truck until the late hours Friday night with assistance of only 3 people vs 5. To top things off, my designated truck drop-off location was changed on Saturday from the Willimantic location to the Columbia location. I have used Uhaul for my moving needs for over 30 years and this was by far my worst experience. I will say however, the Hamden location and Columbia locations were very efficient and profession for the pick-up and drop-off.GLENN S.

Hamden location was definitely my best U-Haul experience. The staff was attentive and made sure I thoroughly understood the equipment before sending me on my way. Then dropping off the equipment all I had to do was wait about 60 seconds for them to unhook my trailer and I was set to go. Absolutely painless couldn't believe it. This was the worst experience ever. I got to the storage place and after driving from NYC to Connecticut for almost 3 hours, they didn’t have a storage available for my things. They had to change the storage place to another city so I had to drive more than what I expected. The only concern I had were the visibility of the rat traps that were very large and the mice traps inside the storage area. The storage doors also had significant space between the bottom of the door and the floor, which would allow for rodents to access.Laura L. | Overall Experience

I had a reservation, but was sent to two different locations. I don't understand the purpose of a reservation and then no storage guarantee. I was misinformed twice. The manager at the Hamden location Joe did turn it around for us it wasn't his error.
