I rent from this location all the time. My business has spent over $5000 YTD. Alisha the location manager has always gone out of her way to make sure we are taken care. I appreciate everything she does. Especially when I forget to take my van back. She would work with me and was very professional. I will continue renting from this location. Let customers know BEFORE renting Pickup trucks they are not allowed to pull a trailer with truck for moving needs. Instead of being treated like a crook who will abuse equipment and tow anything in the world they feel like and damage equipment. Returned truck on same day of renting on 3 day contract because I couldn't use equipment to move with (locally). So now I'm out of $50 dollar, classified as a criminal customer who wants to abuse equipment for 3 days. Sorry, I didn't realize U-hual store Managers are suspious of customers. Maybe it's because I didn't rent a trailer from Uhaul with truck rental so I was deny use of trailer hitch on pickup. Be sure to thank Hobbs Manager for perfect customer service, generating charges for unknown restrictions on equipment uses returned because customer found out full usage of rental wasn't allowed to be utilized by customer, defeating the purpose of rental and returned for none use due to undisclosed restriction. Excellent service, generate funds for not used returned equipment but oops, it was drove off parking lot for 5.5 miles, returned same day and charged twice the amount of the daily rate plus what ever other Fees but hey, you made money instead of helping customer out, great service Thanks Rick D Flippen Satisfied U-haul customer .RICKY F.

I no longer have a need for a storage unit in Hobbs, NM so there would be no one that I would recommend it to so that is not really a fair question for me but there was no way to opt out of that question. My complaint probably is not specific to the Hobbs office but to u-haul in general. Recently, you raised the rent on units. I am not unreasonable and I understand there are rising costs of doing business. However, to raise rents in the time of the COVID pandemic is unconscionable and especially in an oil producing area. Fortunately, I am in a healthcare career and my salary was never impacted so this increase was bearable to me. Many were not that lucky and you chose a HORRIBLE time for the increase. Therefore, at anytime that I can avoid ever using u-haul again I will and with the amount of more superior competition available I am pretty sure that can happen. Do what you are supposed to do. J received an email confirmation and a live telephone confirmation the day before my reservation saying that I was all set for my after hours pick up at the Hobbs, NM store. When I arrived my truck was not ready. I had to call customer service for help. They asked me if I could go to another store. I told them NO and it was unacceptable that my truck wasn't ready as promised. I mentioned that someone should come out and give me my truck because they made the mistake and the customer service rep agreed. The store manager eventually came out and gave me my truck. I would expect a mistake to be made if I was renting a truck from a ,"mom and pop" operation but this was UHAUL and I expected better. Again, DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU'RE GOING TO DO because your customer's time is valuable.Lorenzo M.

I would like to have been able to access my storage unit 24 hours without a fee, 2nd level storage was too hot on really hot days. I would regularly see the temperature above 90 degrees inside the 2nd level. Needed a larger unit from the beginning but they only have 10X15 units to offer.Victor M. | Overall Experience

The manager was awesome but the rest of the crew not so good. Was quoted 19.99 truck rental plus miles never said must have full tank of gas 367x.029=106.46 mileage charge plus 19.99 truck feee = $126.42. I'm charges 178.84 which is $52.42 more than should of been charged. Was told 100 miles included if it wasn't included the charge should of been 135.43 mile plus 19.99 truck rental which is still 155.42. Still 23 more than should of been charged. Not happy with this rental today and will contact U-Haul corporation about the chafes made today.CYNTHIA H.

I was told to call the 800 number if I returned after 7pm to avoid the after hours fee because they would make a note of it. Turns out, after talking to Michael on the 800 UHaul line, Nikki , the rep who both checked my rental out AND watched me return it a little bit after 7pm (she was still closing shop down) lied about the specifics of the fee. The line to call the 800 number was also repeated by what looked to be one of their mechanics. I also find it rather odd that they allow you to schedule drop off for a time that they won't be open, meaning that anything returned won't be counted until they open and it will be counted as late. As a result, I would have been slapped with a $20 fee regardless. So thanks for that. Never using this outpost again. I would advise that other steer clear of this particular branch.Michaela R.
Keep trucks better maintained and if they arent working properly ie; the air conditioning, take them out of service. Either upgrade customers rental if they would like, or try extra hard to find the same rental to replace the one needing maintenance.ADAM V.

We had to rent a second storage and were disappointed that your policy gave no discount on the second one. We asked if we had storages would there be a discount if we rented a truck to move. I was charged $80 to use the trailer for less than 24 hours and when I asked why they told me that U-Haul charges a flat fee based on where you are taking the trailer. They basically charged me to have it for 3 days because â€œthat's how long it should take me to get to the drop off locationâ€ when I literally had it for 24 hours. I do not think that is right and it is just a way for U-Haul to take my money for time I didn't even use their product.Jacob W.
I was told the truck had 267 miles and 1/2 tank of gas. When I got in the truck it has 309 miles and about 3/8 of a tank of gas. I call them and told them about the mileage difference. Offered to come back up there so they could see. I was told they would make new contract. I told them about miles but forgot about gas. When I got back I was told there was not enough gas in there. I told her that not only was the miles not correct but the gas wasn't either. That if the mileage if off so would the gas be off. She asked if I wanted to go finish filling it up. I told her no I would pay the difference. The mileage was off so was the gas. I was charged for the gas. It was not worth the fight. I paid so some one else could drive the truck and not have to pay. I was not going to say anything but since I was sent a survey I decided to respond.Deanna C.
