Context for my experience: needed a 10' truck to move out a few items from my Grandmother's house prior to her move. Because my scheduled pickup for the truck was prior to their Open Hours (9AM) for Saturday, I had to coordinate my reservation and pick-up through the online/mobile system, which I had never used before. All of the preliminary efforts prior to the moving day were easy and self-explanatory, and I'd advise any future customers using this system to make sure that you read the e-mails U-Haul sends you about how to come prepared on the day on your move. The morning of, I proceeded through the check-in procedure pretty swiftly and without issue. The only dilemma I ended up running into was when I got to the "Find Your Truck on the lot" phase. Your truck ID/# is provided, along with a photo that's taken from the dashboard to help you orient yourself around the lot to find where it's parked. The photo that was provided did not sync up with where the truck was actually located, which led me to think that it wasn't available/prepared for me. I followed the instructions they provided if this situation presented itself ("I can't locate my truck"), and it took me to a page with the number of the location's GM and his number. Called the number, and upon answering I realized that the GM was actually within eyesight of me preparing another truck on the premises. I approached him and explained my situation, and he pointed over to a line of trucks that, on first glance, looked like they were out of commission/service because they had their windshields blocked with pricing advertisements. Upon locating my truck, I went back on my phone to complete the Check-In Procedure and get the truck's keys, but was unable to conveniently jump back to the place where I had experienced an issue ("Find My Truck") and was forced to start over (this included taking photos of my Driver's Licsense, Passport, etc.; important stuff, but tedious). Fortunately, another staff member observed my confusion from afar and helped me recover my keys + complete the process from her office computer (thank you again for that, unnamed friend). Everything following that episode was as expected and appreciated.

Dropped off after hours so did not meet the staff. Parking lot and building were well kept and clean. Only issues was the drop box blended in with the graphics on the building. Was a little tough to notice and took a few minutes to find.

I reserved a $39.95 26' box truck for 730am for an early morning appointment that i had scheduled less than a mile from the abington, pa u-haul location. I showed up to the u-haul location on time and was told that there were NO trucks available. I was then told that my only option was to drive 10 miles out of my way to the horsham, pa u-haul location. I get to the next u-haul and i am told that there is a 26' box truck, but that it would cost me $95. I was now running late for my scheduled appointment and accepted the more than double charge. Once i was out of the u-haul lot and heading towards my appointment, i realized that the engine light was on and that the air-conditioner was spewing out hot air. It was over 80 degrees that day and I was sweating like a pig. I arrived at my appointment 40mins late and drenched in sweat. Later in the day i needed to move the truck back a few feet. When i put the truck in reverse, the engine shut off. It did this every time that i tried to reverse. When i returned the truck 2 hours earlier than expected to the horsham, pa u-haul location, i told the counter person of my difficulties. She rolled her eyes and told me in slang-english "Dat's out of pocket. You should of been called roadside assistance. Ain't nothin' we can do. You owe us $188 for da truck." How would i rate my latest experience with U-Haul? It was piss-poor all the way around. I will not be recommending to friends, nor will i use U-Haul again in the future.

I reserved a 17 foot truck and the pickup location gave me a 14 foot truck without notifying me prior. More importantly, when I went to drop the truck off in Langhorne, PA the Marketing Company President (herein known as MCP) Gerald Solarski, was sitting at the front desk. Gerald was rude and uninviting. The person who normally works at the location, whom I don't remember the name of, was courteous and professional and should be promoted. Gerald should be terminated for being rude to a customer.

While I would give the young lady that helped us at this location a rave review, I would not have even met her if not for TERRIBLE SERVICE at your Levittown, PA location where we originally rented. We arrived at 3pm and met 2 people who could care less that we even walked in the door. They had no sense of customer focus. They could not explain why it took them nearly 30 minutes to do the paperwork for a rental we did on line weeks in advance. Then, we were told that the hand truck we rented was NOT available so we had to take an appliance dolly - at an additional cost. Then when we hooked up the 6X12 trailer, one tail light was not working. After 15 minutes of trying to make it right, we left there, after MORE THAN AN HOUR, with NO TRAILER. I called 1-800 Uhaul and was NEVER able to connect with a human being. Lucky for me I had a tablet with internet service and that your website allowed me to find this Horsham, PA location and to reserve another trailer.

They charged me Installation fee as $60. However he spent only 25 minutes to install. My friend went before day and they charged only $35 since they spent only less than 30 mins. I am not sure why it is different for different people. I went very next day after my friend went...This is the only disappointment part

The trailer was pretty old used and rusty but it served its purpose and the brakes worked which is a plus. I really like the way it has brakes and yet doesn't' require the car's brake controller. The double wheel axel is a plus but might be overkill and too heavy for my car. Although its rated for that much weight it was struggling a little bit.

Double charging my account. This may be a company issue, but it is bad business. Understand you put in an Estimated transaction hold at time of rental. Then next day you put in 2 more transactions. 1 for 6.26, which was the little the estimate was off. And another for 179.24, full charge. But initial estimate removed, which was 172.98. Now today, full 179.24 processed as of yesterday, but the original estimate is now pending and money out of my account. That is improper business transaction. You should have just processed the extra amount and been done with it. You cost me bank fees because of extra charge. And don’t give me your BS it was initial hold and then real charges, and hold will eventually go away. That is unethical transaction.

Only thing I could say negative is that we were told someone would meet us out front to help us with the trailer and nobody came out. On the day of the return, I tried to contact the location with questions for the lady who helped me out. For each of my 6 attempts to call, I ended up with the call center that was not the location. The lady at the call center was very rude and unwilling to help. My only concern is for next time, I'd like it to be easier to contact my branch.

Reserved Trailer not available on arrival. Poor customer service. Agent indifferent to fact that reservation could not be satisfied. Provided incorrect pricing info when forced to upsize to a biiger trailer. Horrible experience. Numerous customer service issues previously experienced at this renting location, however, this was the worst. CM

I rented a tow dolly. Although easy to use, the unit broke early in the trip (1000 miles). The pin that holds the ramp in somehow dislodged and exited the dolly leaving the ramp to fall out and drag on the highway. I had to come up with an improvised solution on the side of the highway to keep the ramp locked in place. The pin by design should not be able to come out. Suggest future users have a contingency in place for such an event. I used a long screwdriver as a pin and duct taped it in place for the journey home.

While checking in, another customer was on an extended personal cell phone call yelling, screaming, and swearing. In my opinion, the U-Haul rep should have asked the customer to take the call outside. I could barely hear the check-in rep over the call.

I order in advance a VAN. That's what I ordered not a truck with a V8 in it. I knew a would be going 120 miles. The truck used half a tank and cost me 26 dollars. So I guess it doesn't matter what you order days in advance . They just give you whatever they want. Miserable people working there. I will never rent from Uhaul again.

the truck is actually the worst ever, they falsely advertise 10 mpg but the truck barely did 5 mpg and the general managers comment was i was driving recklessly. what a rip off, blame the customer for a false advertising. waited a full day for a road side assist, the technician told me there may be a transmission issue, the truck idle kept hi at all time , i was given an option 1 to wait for u haul mechanics to come back to work and check the car out , 2 switch vehicles which u haul will get guys to help me move my load and 3 keep going, from the road service guy i asked for the report and he replied that he will send it to u haul, waiting for the mechanics would delay me another 2 days and u haul denied any help to move my load to another better operating truck.and now the general manager tells me i was driving fast or careless, has any one trued to go fast in those trucks, they dont, even if you want to you cant,. i guess the GM is a mind reader or the biggest rip off ever, bottom line i will not suggest u haul to any one. it has been a nightmare since day one .

The door knob fell off when I went to roll the window down. Fir tree needles littered the back & needed to be swept prior to my usage. The truck shook when driving more than 50 MPH. Have more knowledgeable sales people working with customers.

Upon renting the size trailer I wanted and the location in which was closest to me, the system rerouted my rental to a location that was over a hour drive away, and it also gave me the next size up which was a little more expensive. Due to the necessary need I was forced to use what the system had generated, but I should have had the ability to return it to my closest UHAUL dealership. This was a inconvenience and unfortunately left me no choice in the matter. The uhaul trailer had a repair done PRIOR to my rental and it did allow rain to leak into the trailer upon realizing this I placed tape around the outside of the patch to stop the rain from leaking in further on my item's. I did notify the manager upon returning the trailer that the trailer did need further repairs. To ensure it doesn't happen to the next customer.

When I reserved my truck and tow dolly on line the quote was $975 for the truck and $120 for the tow dolly. I was told I was upgraded to a car trailer, at no additional cost, as there were no tow Dolly’s available to fit my Mini Cooper. I was charged $338 for the trailer. That is a significant upcharge when I was quoted no additional charges. Very unhappy with the quote vs the actual charges. Will not recommend UHaul in the future.

We rented a van. The online tool to report problems with the van was awful. I was 3/4 of the way through, there was a photo upload problem so I had to have the attendant come out to the van to mark damage. This process was almost an hour until I was able to leave the lot. Way too long and frustrating. I had to wipe dirt onto my hands to see if it was a ding or scrape. Ridiculous or issue towels to inspect vehicle. Why not offer a 0 deductible option as another level of coverage for customers in addition to the coverage with $150 deductible for vans? The trucks have multiple levels of coverage offered.

My reservation number is #82060377, and I'd like a full refund of $94.18 from January 26th 2019. This is because "nothing" was how it should be. What more does a company in business do to give back for service not rendered? Here is why. The KEYS were in my possession and in another person. I was at the store parking lot, and the lady walked past the truck and unlocked the doors. Yes, I was stolen from. A can of spray I bought to get rid of the MOONSHINE smell in the engine, and the gas was taken. They parked the truck to the furthest part of their parking lot on a day that was snowing, and very cold. I was walking around their parking lot to find the number on the front of the truck, not the license number. THEN, I forget my gloves on their desk and no one returned them to me. I was told by the manager Brian Boyle I was talking to myself, and therefore YES, he does remember me. And, he says I got my things moved what else matters? The price when your things are sponged from? I REALLY put up for many X with these people, and it only gets worse with this company. Can I have a refund ?

I know what it's like to get overrun with customers because I work in retail but in all honesty, professionalism in a business is key to a customer. It let's them understand that it's a busy day and they're willing to wait. From my knowledge, every uhaul vehicle should have a full tank. When I went to pick up my box truck, it never got a full tank and I complained. Nothing was done. I went to pick up the truck, packed my items in the truck and delivered it to the location I was moving to. The guy that I dealt with was very rude and did not greet me once I walked up to his register. Looked at me twice and went back to throwing paperwork before checking me in. Dealt with him again once I dropped it back off and was not happy with his tone of attitude. I'm not trying to ruin the business with this summary but honestly this needs the attention. I felt bad for the other guy because he was dealing with a customer service issue about a box truck. Little advice, have a better attitude and let the customers behind the ones that are being taken care of that they would be with them shortly.

We had requested a preferred option in Colmar , our apartment is in Perkasie PA and our destination was Maple shade N.J.. Colmar was only a few miles from our apt . When we arrived there they told us to pick up in Horsham! Nobody ever called us . U-haul can not rely on email only this is not ok . Our original truck was a full price and 56 miles included . Driving to Horsham was 16 miles away from Perkasie . We did not plan on spending this 16 miles and on top the agent told us we only get 37 miles even tho we have paid the same price as if we picked up in Colmar! This is unacceptable . Moving is stressful enough and customer service was no kind at all . Telling us “ we don’t even do one ways “ pretty much making it seem like we should be grateful we got something 16 miles away from our apt . This is the last time booking with U-haul!

I paid to get it in Philly, then you told me I had to drive an hour to another location to get it after I paid. Then I waited at the location for another hour because of "processing issues" only to be told that I couldn't get the van (the entire reason I was at that location in the first place). Absolute joke. I rented a 15 foot truck and went to pick up on 25th at 9am. I returned home to realize my movers had already rented a truck. I called UHAUL customer service asking if I could return the truck and not be fully charged. The representative I spoke with said I would only be charged the $29.95 + the mileage I had currently driven. When the truck was returned at 945am the in-store Representative would not agree to the term previously quoted and I was still charged the full price. Very unfair and unreasonable!

One guy was running the whole complex so i sat in the truck for a few minutes waiting on a representative for the equipment return. No one came so i got out- Was helped immediately when i got inside though. Just took the keys while they were finishing up with other customers. No fault of them, maybe a notification to if people are sitting int the equipment return bay that they can get out if there is a customer backlog.

This facility had false representation on the website and I felt as though it was a "bait and switch" which is illegal. The employees saw this also.

I do have to say that SOME of the staff were very friendly. However most seemed very quiet and not willing to go out of their way. Storage is extremely overpriced, so I moved my storing elsewhere.
